There you go again.

Things could have been far worse. Iraq with all the military hardware and training lost vast swaths of territory to ISIS.
The US with all their aerial support and special forces have not made any significant dint on ISIS.

Remember the same US has not only refused earlier on to designate Boko Haram a terrorist group but will later not only refuse to sell us much needed military hardware but will go on to stop other Nations from supplying us. Coupled with 5th columnists and traitors within the Nigerian secuirty forces I will say we have not done badly in containing Boko Haram whose ranks keep swelling by the day with eager northern muslims , volunteer jihadis from outside and mercenaries.

But we all know you don't give a rat's azz about the suffering of the innocent Christians cut up in the jihadi campaign but only want to use this same terrorist acts against the government - the same acts committed to frustrate and impose terror.

OP, you are free to denounce Christianity and embrace whatever faith you choose.
But I wan t you to read about these brave women who stood steadfast amidst all odds.

Who knows you may learn a thing a or two about what principles and an unwavering faith actually mean and not some blind fanatic followship.

On March 6, 1752 A.D., Muin-ul-Malk, Governor of Lahore (now Pakistan), also known as Mir Mannu, ordered the extermination of Sikhs in his area and had the men-folk beheaded publicly, with the younger unmarried girls sold or distributed among the jihadis. The women and children had a different fate and were taken captives and kept hungry in the Lahore jail. Starving women were forced to operate heavy wheat grindstones and were given the option of conversion to Islam or to suffer the consequences.

They unanimously chose to remain steadfast to their faith in the face of certain death, upon which the Muslim guards gruesomely massacred over 300 infants and children, IMPALING them on spears. Chopping their limbs, bodies of babies were RIPPED open to take out internal organs which were then garlanded around their mothers necks. One by one many Sikh women suffered such brutal atrocities, but they all chose to remain steadfast to their Sikh faith instead of embracing Islam.

Miraculously though, before the womens’ turn to be slaughtered came, the surviving Sikh women were rescued by the Akalis (Sikh horsemen) sometime after the death of Mir Mannu on November 4, 1753. One can guess, that similar barbarity must have befallen on Sikh babies at other prisons where their mothers could not be rescued to tell their part of the tragedy.

Incidents like these run in the thousands if not more, and were spread over the entire Punjab region. The evidence for many such gruesome atrocities come not from the survivors such as these women, but interestingly from the Muslim chroniclers themselves who very proudly mention these infidel slayings as a “service to Islam.” Such as one account by Nur Ahmad Chishti who recorded that Mir Mannu “killed thousands of Sikhs” daily. Once, on the day of a Muslim festival, he beheaded 1100 Sikhs in public.

Even today, 200 years later, Islamists are doing the same Islamic barbarity upon the Yazidi women and children in Iraq, at the time of writing this article.

Could anything be more painful for Sikh women than to watch and witness the gruesome butchery of their own sons and husbands? These women maintained a strong conviction in their Sikh faith in the face of extreme atrocities.

In those days Sikhs were persecuted because they were considered infidels by Muslims, and today Sikhs become victims in the United States because they are confused with Muslims. It is my hope that readers will share and help avoid such confusion.

Some people may wonder why these women did not convert for a moment to save their children and themselves, be released and upon gaining their freedom, go back to following their old religion again. This way at least they could have saved their and their babies lives and go on following their old religion like before after appeasing the Muslims by “fake-converting” to Islam.

The important thing here is that the Sikh resistance shown by these women was not a fight to worship in the “Sikh way” rather than the “Islamic way”; the reader should not mistakenly consider this heroic resistance of Sikh women as some blind intoxication with Sikhism so much so that they sacrificed their children but foolishly refused to abandon Sikhism. The Sikh women here were not being obstinate about “being a Sikh to the last moment of breath.” The sacrifice shown here is the highest epitome of fighting for principles in Sikh history, for which life had to be given.

This Sikh resistance was primarily to stop the spread of Islamic ideology in India at all costs.

Instilling a blind faith and a cult-like commitment to die for Sikhism was NOT the objective here as it might seem to some. The Sikhs of that time understood very well the dangers of Islam and the hate it perpetuates towards humanity. If Islam was just another peaceful religion, then the Sikhs could just as well have converted to Islam if it was just a spiritual and peaceful religion like any other; meaning, why die for Sikhism if all religions are same?

The only way to stop the hateful ideology of Islam, was not to give in to forced Islamic conversion at all costs. In fact this was the only option available to them.

Today Islam has a very weak chance against the advent of internet and democracy in many powerful nations; but in those times many powerful civilizations were rapidly collapsing in the face of Islamic jihad. In India in one generation, either all infidels would be dead or would have converted to Islam.

Converting to Islam to save ones’ neck was already commonplace and the ‘logical thing’ to do during this time in the spread of Islamic rule in India. Many infidels in India who were forced to convert to Islam to save their necks, actually did indeed do so, and then went on to practice their old Hindu/Buddhist religion secretly inside their homes; while outwardly they used an Islamic name and put on Islamic rituals/circumcision, even using Muslim beards just to save their necks.

Over a few generations, they became more Islamic, more radicalized and started to feel a connection with pan-Islamic pride. Anti-infidel mindset radicalized them, and within a few generations, the descendants of once forced-converted-closet Hindus had turned into the same monster from whom their ancestors had tried to save themselves.

Today their descendants are called “Pakistanis”, the world’s finest producer of ongoing terrorism and a nuclear contributor to Muhammad’s 1400 year-old legacy of jihad. The ancestors of present day Muslims were all closet-Hindus at one time. They practiced ancient Hindu festivals like Holi up to two or three generations even after converting to Islam. Even today some Pakistanis keep their old Hindu surnames.

This Sikh resistance as shown here was the fight against Islamic ideology and its spread across human minds. The sacrifices such as those of these brave women had to be made- not because they were careless about their babies’ lives, nor because they were intoxicated with Sikhism as is commonly seen in many blind cult faiths- but because one of the Principles of Sikhism is to put the welfare of society above ones’ individual welfare.

The purpose of a Sikh’s life is not to be selfish about one’s survival, but about the survival of the “society/community” at large. This means the extent of harm done by self-sacrifice of these Sikh women is minor as compared to the damage to the society that would have been done if Islam were allowed to be spread in the Indian society. This can be seen today- old civilizations now turned Islamic.

Had these women converted to Islam they would have saved their lives and their babies, but it would have lead to the perpetual spread of Islamic poison in society, as we can see with the emergence of Pakistan, which is far worse than the personal death of these women or the immense grief of the massacre of their babies. It was only after this sacrifice that the Sikhs, less than 5 percent of Punjab, were able to rule over Punjab and tame the Muslim majority areas.

No other episode in history has seen a slaughtered tribe taking the enemy head on in less than a generation’s time; and rendering North India free of Islam. In the grand scheme of life, the sacrifice of these women was necessary.

On another note, humans are social animals. It’s called “Pack Mentality”… Muslims love it. Once anybody converts, Muslims will shout out loud as when some celebrity converts to Islam, they mean to show that as an example that Islam is true. If these women had converted even for a moment, an example would have been set; and a lot more people would not have stood up to fight against Islam. The idea was to show strong resistance at all costs, to stand up against Islamic oppression. There wouldn’t have been an end to Islam in India if these brave Sikh men and women had just converted.

These brave women sacrificed their babies and set a great precedent at that time. Taking inspiration from them and other Sikh martyrdom that followed, many more people joined the Sikh resistance and did not accept forced conversions, fiercely fighting against Islamic oppression. Within the next 50 years, Sikhs who were less than 5 percent of Punjab, not only destroyed and took over the Islamic empire in Punjab, but also ruled over that region which was majority Muslim, something unparalleled in history to this day. It is to say that Sikhism on the verge of being extinction, did not run away to safer parts of the world, but stood right there steadfast and rather kicked the enemy out of Punjab.

By 1800, Punjab with a sizable Muslim population was ruled by a Sikh emperor who tamed their jihadi tendencies by closing several mosques that called for jihad, banning Muslim calls to azaans in the streets of his capital and wrestling half of Afghanistan East of Khybar Pass. This put a stop to Islamic spread in India.

Today there is no Islam in as much as half of Punjab (today’s North India). Sikhs who numbered less than 5 percent of a population could not have saved their future generations from Islam but for the bravery of these women. In the grand scheme of life, the sorrow and sacrifices faced by the Sikh women must have been small yet necessary.

Now we are in a much better and safer position with the advent of the internet to face Islamic jihad. But will we use our freedoms today to carry on the fight of these women? These women belong not just to the Sikh faith but serve as a beacon of inspiration for all of us freedom-loving people.

PoliticsWhat The main stream media outlets Are Not Reporting: PEGIDA Protests In Germany by GBTYO(op):
Germans march against Islamization of Germany

The Charlie Hebdo attacks has triggered a series of protests both in solidarity for the victims but also from Muslim enclaves around the globe denouncing the Magazine's "provocative and slanderous" satirization on Islam's most revered figure and further staging violent protests and attacks mainly on Christians. But what the MSMs like CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera are too scared to report is the rise of anti-islamization marches in Europe's biggest economy, Germany.

PEGIDA, (Patrotic Europeans Against Islamization of the West) is a movement that has slowly been growing in numbers over the years but with events of increasing Islamic intolerance on European soil, the movement was destined to become very popular in a Germany which has refused to sacrifice National pride, identity and values in place of bullsh1t multiculturalism like what is currently afflicting countries like France, Sweden and Britain.
https://media.breitbart.com/media/2015/01/LEGIDA-Reuters.jpg
German national pride has always worried her neighbors which has by and large led to a reservation of nationalism among Germans reeling from the ghost of Nazi Germany but today's Germany is not united on racial lines or Germanic pride but for one sole purpose which is to see to the halt and encroachment of their society, culture and values by Islam.

Germany does not owe anybody an apology and are quick to defend their stance on what some will consider islamophobia by stating how dangerous and conflicting further islamization of Germany may affect the very culture of what is considered German.

I am with Germany on this and I fully support them in stopping the encroachment of their society by foreign archaic values that Islam has only to offer.

I am not also a fan of multiculturalism as I believe that diversity can not be protected by assimilation rather by respect of each diverse groups ideology and culture.

If Muslims want to practice their sharia they should head to any of the Muslim dominated states where such laws are applicable and not try to force their narrow minded values on other people in their own lands.

‘We are hostages': A Saudi princess reveals her life of hell

It was a life out of a fairy tale — until it became one they couldn’t escape.
Sahar, Maha, Hala and Jawaher Al Saud are daughters of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Arabian monarch who is worth an estimated $15 billion.

With such riches, the sisters, when younger, would take ski trips to luxurious resorts in Europe and go on endless shopping sprees, buying silk robes and jasmine oil, while their doting father bought them parures — matching jewelry sets — topped with jewel-encrusted tiaras.

Maha, Hala, mom Alanoud Al Fayez, Sahar and Jawaher in the 1980s.
The women roamed elegant tents, filled with fresh fruits and treats, on an 85-acre, $740 million compound that included a helipad emblazoned with the king’s initials.
Each of them desired a normal, albeit privileged, life: to study abroad, travel the world, and eventually marry and have children.
Now they are prisoners.
Not only has the 89-year-old king forbidden any man to seek his daughters’ hands in marriage, he’s confined them, against their will, in separate dark and suffocating quarters at his palace.
The king’s eldest daughter, 42-year-old Sahar, spoke with The Post in a rare and surreptitious phone call.

“We are cut off and isolated and alone,” she says. “We are hostages. No one can come see us, and we can’t go see anyone. Our father is responsible and his sons, our half-brothers, are both culprits in this tragedy.”
Why are the princesses being held captive?
Because they believe women in Saudi Arabia, one of the most oppressive Islamic nations in the world, should be free. Their mother, Alanoud Al Fayez, long ago fled to London.

When the sisters openly spoke in opposition to women being illegally detained and placed in mental wards, the king had enough and no longer considered them his daughters.

“That was it for him. It was the end for us,” Sahar says.

“They once had a normal life for Saudi Arabia, but they are free thinkers, and their father hates that,” mom Al Fayez says. “They are compassionate about the plight of women in Saudi Arabia and throughout the Arab world. The injustices that we see are terrible, and someone must say something.”

Punished for having daughters
Al Fayez, a descendant of a well-to-do Jordanian family, recalls the first time she saw Abdullah. It was 1972. She was 15, he was 48, and she was told that he would be her husband.
“I was being given to him in marriage,” she says. “It was arranged.”
Despite the riches and the servants and the pampering, life quickly became “monotonous,” she says. Almost immediately, she got pregnant.
“After I was forced to marry him, Abdullah would come to my room as a visitor for a few hours every now and then,” Al Fayez says. “And then he’d go to his other wives, so you don’t even fight, you don’t even matter.”
‘THE INJUSTICES THAT WE SEE ARE TERRIBLE, AND SOMEONE MUST SAY SOMETHING.’
- Al Fayez
Within four years of the wedding, Al Fayez had given birth to four girls. This was unacceptable: She was, in the king’s eyes, incapable of producing a son, and so she was worthless.
Abdullah, who has had 30 wives and fathered more than 40 children, finally divorced Al Fayez sometime in the 1980s — but she didn’t find out until two years later, through an intermediary. In Saudi Arabia, a husband can divorce his wife without her knowledge.
“Really, he had divorced me a number of times and he’d abuse me, beat me and had me beaten by guards,” Al Fayez says. “And the more I took the abuse, the more I was abused.”
“The last straw, if you want to call it a last straw, really was that when my daughters got real sick, they wouldn’t let me supervise their care or participate in soothing them in any way.
“So that sparked my desire to break away and get to the West and tell the world about the abuses of women in Saudi Arabia.”
When it comes to the rights of women, Saudi Arabia has one of the worst human-rights records in the world. Women don’t have a say in raising their children. They can’t go to school, travel, open a bank account, conduct any kind of business or get medical treatment — especially gynecological surgery — without male permission.
In public, everything except the eyes and the hands must be covered, and the slightest infraction can result in a death sentence.
Modal Trigger
Al Fayez with her daughters.
With the help of one of Abdullah’s security guards, Al Fayez fled the compound in the dark of night to Jeddah airport, where, with the help of a women’s rights group, she eventually flew to London.
It was an agonizing decision. Al Fayez says she would have fled with her daughters, but Abdullah had already confiscated the women’s passports and separated them from Al Fayez.
She also said she thought he’d eventually release them to spare the embarrassment of Al Fayez going public with her charges. At the very least, she thought their lives would be better than hers — that he would not mistreat his own children.
“Leaving my daughters was very difficult, but I never thought they’d be subjected to this,” she says. “After all, they are [the king’s] daughters too.”

Al Fayez was wrong.

In 2002, less than one year after her escape, Abdullah began tormenting his daughters. They are in intermittent phone contact with their mother and have told her that he’s drugged their food and water to keep them docile.
“They had felt some oppression before I left, but when he found that I had gone, he vowed that he would kill the girls, slowly,” Al Fayez says. “At one point, he tried to get me to come back, saying that he would take away the divorce and release them, but that wasn’t true and I know that I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t trust that.”
Modal Trigger
Saudi Princesses Jawaher (left) and Sahar are confined in their rooms at the palace.
It was then, about 2005, that she first began to fear for her daughters’ safety, she said. “That’s when I thought, now he’d do anything, even punish them till they die, which is exactly what he’s trying to do now.”
The king locked Sahar and the youngest, Jawaher, now 38, in one area of the palace, while confining Mahar, 41, and Hala, 39, to yet another closet-size and unkempt room.
Doctors aren’t even allowed in for checkups.
“The rooms they are locked in are so hot, they wilt from the desert heat,” Al Fayez says. They suffer from dehydration, nausea and heat stroke.
Her daughter Sahar says the king is starving them all to death. They haven’t had a full meal in more than a month, she says, and are forced to eat canned goods that they pry open with nail files.
“We are not angels dropped from the sky as a gift to our father,” Sahar says, “but I assure you that we didn’t commit a crime or do anything to deserve this.”
SHE WAS, IN THE KING’S EYES, INCAPABLE OF PRODUCING A SON, AND SO SHE WAS WORTHLESS.Power, running water and electricity are shut off at random, sometimes for days or even weeks at a time. Their rooms are overrun with bugs and rodents.
“Our energy is quite low, and we’re trying our best to survive,” Sahar says. Their “gilded cage” is only gilded on the outside. “We live amid ruins. You hear ‘palace,’ but we don’t feel like we’re in a palace at all.”
An official at the Saudi embassy in London tells The Post that the women are free to move about, but because they are royalty, they must be accompanied by armed security guards.
Al Fayez says that’s a lie.
“That place was once a home,” she says. “Now it’s a cage . . . The king wants them dead and he wants them to die in front of the world, yet he will deny any of this ever happened.”
All four women are routinely tortured, sometimes by their own relatives.
“They come in, the men, our own half-brothers, and they beat us with sticks,” Sahar says. “They yell at us and tell us we will die here.”
Marriage isn’t an escape
Each daughter, says their mother, once dreamed of marrying a prince. But with no chance to meet men on their own, and with their father indifferent, they remained single.
“He won’t let anyone take them in marriage, and he’s threatened to kill anyone who would ask,” Al Fayez says. “It’s about psychological warfare and breaking them down.”
Al Fayez said she feels every bit of her daughters’ pain, yet she tries to remind herself of how strong and special each of her girls is.
Modal Trigger
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz
“Sahar is very bright and has always made us laugh. She’s the eldest, and she’s an artist and a free thinker,” Al Fayez says.
“Maha is sensitive but has a penchant for business and politics. Hala is compassionate and brilliant; she majored in psychology and graduated at the top of her class. She loves to play the piano and compose music. Jawaher, my youngest, is very similar in character to Maha. She also loves music and hopes to earn a degree in sound engineering.”
Her daughters, she says, have much to offer. She says she taught each of them to be strong, to stand up to their powerful father, and now that has backfired.
“My children have been living in agony,” Al Fayez says, “and this is far too great to bear. They are wasting away.”
Curiously, Abdullah has other daughters from other wives who are treated far, far better.
Princess Adila, for example, is married to a well-to-do Saudi businessman; she often speaks on behalf of her father. Abdullah appointed another daughter, Aliya, to the lead post in a Jeddah social-service program.
Princess Maryam, says Al Fayez, “is a doctor in Europe and she stays away.” The king’s youngest daughter, Sahab, 21, was given in marriage to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2011.
Why are these four different?
“His hatred stems from their outspokenness,” Al Fayez says. “But from the beginning, even when he paid attention to them, he was angry that I didn’t give him sons. The fact that they are like me bothered him.”
‘WE LIVE AMID RUINS. YOU HEAR ‘PALACE,’ BUT WE DON’T FEEL LIKE WE’RE IN A PALACE AT ALL.’
- Sahar
Al Fayez says she’s had little help in trying to secure her daughters’ release. She’s hired British and American lawyers, but Abdullah has refused to be questioned.
“We know that the daughters have gone for 30 days without any food or water,” says Ali Al-Ahmed, director of the human-rights group Institute for Gulf Affairs and a former Saudi political prisoner himself.
“They’ve been resourceful, putting away a little food here and there,” he says. “They are in survival mode.”
Sahar tells The Post that she’s constantly threatened by her father and has been told that death is the only way out.
“My father said that after his death, our brothers would continue to detain us and abuse us,” she says.
Al Fayez is frantic. Time, she says, is running out.
“My daughters want the right to see their mother, and I want to see my daughters,” Al Fayez says. “They are just trying to hold on to their sanity.
“They are suffering . . . with no hope for salvation.”

Saudi Imam Makes Strange Claim about America's Discovery

Saudi Arabia's Imam Issa Assiri has made a bizarre claim that Muslims were already present in what is now known as America, before Christopher Columbus ever sailed there.

Christopher Columbus
Statue of Christopher Columbus in Baltimore Flickr
Assiri while speaking at the Sa'eed bin Jubair Mosque in Jedda in Saudi Arabia said: "The truth is that Columbus knew about the 'new world' even before he set sail. He also knew that there were Muslims there," The Blaze reports.

Not only this, the preacher further said that the Columbus' motive of visiting America was waging a war against Islam.

"He received a personal commission to sail to America from a Crusader queen [Isabella] who hated Islam and the Muslims," Assiri said, as per the translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute. "That was before this hateful crusader turned to the American continent, in order to fight the Muslims there. The Muslims were there before Columbus and all the others."

The Imam had said during one of his sermons, after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris earlier this month, that Christians and Jews only understood violence. "This is the only language they understand. [After the attacks in France] they changed their policy."

He said that anyone who curses or mocks the Prophet Muhammad, even in a humorous tone, "must be killed, even if he repents."

With this he has become the second public figure to make such a claim about the discovery of America.

During a speech on 15 November, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had made the same claim. The Turkish President had stated that Muslims had discovered the Americas almost 300 years before Christopher Columbus. He had further said that a mosque should be built in Cuba to immortalise the event.

"Muslim sailors arrived in America from 1178. Columbus mentioned the existence of a mosque on a hill on the Cuban coast," Erdogan said, International Business Times reported. He said Turkey should construct a mosque on the hill referenced by Columbus. "I would like to talk about it to my Cuban brothers. A mosque would go perfectly on the hill today," he said.
But on a serious note; did Obama not state that American history is intertwined with Islam by stating that; "Islam has always been a part of America"?

we are not ignoring history, we have watch, read, heard and learnt...and giving the prevailing stealing and corruption in and of the highest order, We have chosen not to repeat history (Jonathan, pdp and Tan) by the way, thanks for the advice.
RevDesmondJuju:
All this anti corruption rhetoric coming from the north and southwest is highly hypocritical.

The north dominated leadership positions after the civil war with Yorubas occupying strategic bureaucratic roles. Corruption began its endemic rise under this duo.

For the southwest to shout corruption now is also highly hypocritical for the fact that their own region is dominated by crooks and thieves. Charity does not seem to be in their dictionary because if the northern leadership they so desire can not fix their own backyard or they can not stem corruption but celebrate it with people like Asiwaju enjoying patronage and respect how dare they speak of making Nigeria better?

From what I understand with this Buhari nonsense Yorubas who support Buhari do this for the following reason:

1. Fanatical Yoruba Muslims. There is such a thing if you don't know as fanatical Yoruba Muslims and it is growing by the day. Visit any tertiary institution and you will see them venting their by force religiousity for all to see. This group is swayed more by Jonathan's alliance with Israel. They are vast majority here on nairaland.

2. Yorubas want a piece of the action. By claiming opposition, Tinubu built his empire. Tinubu is now set to take on bigger challenges at the national level given that most of the SW states other than Lagos and Ondo have been milked dry. With this alliance Tinubu hopes to springboard to the national level where the pickings are juicier. Most of his followers will natural follow him.

3. Yorubas feeling like kingmakers. They feel irrelevant and dispensable in a Goodluck govt. Jonathan has matched any brain they have with that double their capacity from the southeast. It feels like 1960 again when they had to fight and compete with the more competent igbos. An Ab0ki alliance will naturally see a smooth sailing to the top. To make matters worse they have no bargaining power. The SouthSouth has oil and are ready to use it to negotiate, the north has a solid disciplined political bloc. These are things the southwest does not have other than AMALA styled confusion trouble rousing politics.

4. They are gambling for a Buhari death if he ever got elected. They some how think they were instrumental to Goodluck's emergence not knowing that the Niger Delta was set to restart their insurgency if the constitution is not adhered to. An Osinbanjo accidental presidency will never happen because the north will demand for bi elections . The other regions will support this especially the Igbos. This will see the north choose an Igbo vp leaving the southwest in the cold. If Osinbanjo opposes this he will simply be given the shonekan treatment and not a damn thing will happen.
