Thank you for stating this - "Paying upfront tuition fees is not a prerequisite for visa approval."

A lot of people have the misconception that paying tuition will comply the VO to issue a visa.

I personally don't advise anyone to pay upfront but they should state in the SOP that you'll pay the tuition when instructed to do so and of course ensure that their POF reflects that they can afford it.

Emmaokudu,

If you don't plan to pay tuition, make sure you have your tuition and living expenses in your possession(Account) prior your application submission.

Paying upfront tuition fees is not a prerequisite for visa approval. I'll advise that if you have the money, just pay for your full tuition and have your living expenses in your personal account before submitting your app. Don't be scared okay, your money is safe with the Canadian Institution and will be refunded, if eventually your application got refused.
Yes paying upfront tuition is good as it let's the visa officer know that your primary intent is to study.

Lastly, Are you self sponsored?( You speak like one).

Hello FAM, please I'll like a clarification... I'm hearing that if one does his/her PGD at a college, they cannot use it to proceed to Masters. Please how true is this?
That's not true. You can use PGD from a college to apply for Masters as long as you have a BSc prior. People that finished their first degree with 2:2 or less can use college to augment their result and apply for Masters (It's like getting extra credit). I know a few people who have done this.

Hello house, I'm beginning to get scared after reading about job prospects in Canada and knowing I will be landing in a month's time. Not that I am doing well in Nigeria presently but confused on the paths I could follow to get my big break in Canada.

I need some advice, I am an Engineering technologist with background in IT hardware and Oil and gas. Although I have more experience in oil and gas. Knowing my profession is regulated, I intend to switch back to IT and continue my career there in Canada. Is it possible to get IT Help desk roles easily to gain some experience or any support roles? Also is it possible to get a job as any Engineering technologist without the provincial license? Can one's previous experience with a known multinational also influence the probability of getting a good job?

Please help cos I'm trying to determine the reality out there so I can prepare myself for the worst before landing. planning to land in Edmonton

Thank you.

Hey, if you are looking at focusing on IT and looking at Help desk specifically, I would suggest you take the Comptia A+ certification. The IT industry here is really big on certifications and that certification will get your foot in the door (It will get you calls from HR). Also, doing the certification also gives you confidence.
