The much anticipated season 5 of Money Heist finally dropped today, taking Nigerian Twitter by storm.

Part 5 of this acclaimed series, released in Nigeria on Friday, shocked Nigerians further due to the infusion and mention of the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram in certain scenes and episodes.

Recall that in the maiden season’s opening montage, the N100 note was shown alongside other currencies.

Money Heist is a Spanish series that has amassed a global audience for its unique plot about a criminal mastermind who goes by the name professor, who recruits criminals with abilities to pull off the biggest and seemingly most impossible heists in history.

A female tenant, Loveth Okpala has accused the leader of the Movement of the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike of ejecting her from his house after declining to meet him at an unusual place for an unknown reason.

Okpala also claimed the MASSOB leader seized her belongings and kept them in one of his stores after he had instructed his caretaker, identified as Mr Okey to lock her room.

Uwazuruike’s tenant explained that trouble started when she went out during the weekend and left her air conditioner on.

She said her landlord got to know about it, locked her room, and demanded a fine before he would open it. She said her landlord had agreed to open her room after she begged him but he later requested to see her for no reason again.

Ms Okpala, residing at Uwazuruike Close, Works Layout, Bala Suya, Owerri, Imo State, revealed this to SaharaReporters on Wednesday adding that the MASSOB leader also lied that she had not paid her rent.

“My name is Loveth Okpala. I’m a tenant in Mr Ralph Uwazuruike’s house. There was a clash between my landlord and me because I left my air conditioner on when I was not around. Nobody was around. He found out and I pleaded with him that it wasn’t intentional. I told him that I left my key with one of my friends. It was my friend that left my room without switching off the AC. She said when there was a blackout, she forgot to switch off the AC before she went out. So, I begged him.

“This whole issue happened on Sunday, so when I came back, I realised the AC cable had been cut and my room locked. So, I went to see the caretaker and begged him. The caretaker said I should go and beg my landlord, Mr Uwazuruike, not him. The caretaker, Mr Okey advised me to get my landlord’s number, call and beg him.

“Immediately, I called him and introduced myself that I was the girl whose AC was left on while away and that my room had been locked. He just hung up on me. The caretaker advised me again to send a message to him on WhatsApp, that he might be busy. I did and he replied that I was going to pay a fine.

“I begged him that I didn’t have money and that he should just forgive me. He blocked me for a while on WhatsApp. I had to go and sleep at my friend's place around Port Harcourt Road that Sunday night. When I discovered he had unblocked me, I pleaded with him again. He replied that I should tell Mr Okey to open my room for me,” Ms Okpala said.

She thought the storm was over.

But Uwazuruike on Monday asked that they should meet but she ignored it. She disclosed that the pro-Biafra leader wanted to pick her up but she told him about the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state (which has already been reviewed by IPOB)."

She continued, “He chatted me up again on Monday asking if he could invite me. I said but there was no movement because of the sit-at-home order. He said there was movement, that he could come and pick me up with his car. He said I should meet him at the Bala Suya area to pick me up. I said I couldn’t come there and asked if we could make it Tuesday.

“I got to my lodge on Tuesday and the caretaker said Mr. Uwazuruike had not ordered him to open my room. He called him in my presence and he said he should open the door for me. He chatted with me again to remind me of the meeting but because I was tired and not interested, I ignored him.

“I went downstairs after that and stayed with another friend and before I went upstairs again to my room, it had been locked with another key. I went straight to the caretaker and he said the landlord asked him to lock my room again because I had not paid my rent.

“I was shocked and told him that how would I be staying in their apartment without paying and they would not talk all this while. The rent had been paid eight months earlier. I even reminded him of how I paid and gave the receipt to him. When he started an argument. I told him I would go to the bank the next day to see what happened when he was saying he didn’t get my payment. I paid on the 22nd February, 2021.

“He didn’t allow me to sleep in my room that night again so I went to sleep downstairs with a friend. The next morning when I was preparing to go to the bank, Mr Okey came with another man and he asked me to follow him to my room upstairs. Getting there, he opened with their key and told me that Mr Uwazuruike said I should leave. He said he didn’t want to see me again and anybody that harboured me would be sent out, too.”

Ms Okpala who could not control her tears when speaking to SaharaReporters said she had not had access to her rented room and her belongings since then. She lamented that Uwazuruike threatened that she should accept whatever happened to her if she stepped into his compound again.

“I was asking questions. How? Where is it done? You are sending me out for what? You said I hadn’t paid, and I told you I would go to the bank, and next thing you’re asking me to move out. Is it all because he wanted me to go out with him and I refused? He collected my key from me, opened the door, and started moving my things out.

“Mr Okey said that Mr Uwazuruike ordered that even if I had paid my rent, he didn’t want to see me again in his house and that he would give me the balance of my rent. Everybody in the compound advised me to quickly get to the bank and get the statement which was proof of my payment and I quickly dashed out to do so.

“To make the matter worse, I received a call on the way from Mr Okey that Mr Uwazuruike said I should never step my foot in that house again. He said I will have myself to blame for anything that happens to me if I come into that house. My belongings are kept in a store in his house,” she said while sobbing.

As the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, sinks deeper into crisis, members are considering jumping ship to avoid being totally consumed by the inevitable crash. The movement is said to be split into several splinter groups. Each of the groups laying claim to the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra. But only two command more followership : The Chika Edoziem and the Simon Ekpa factions.

Chika Edoziem is the head of the Directorate of State, a powerful governing body formed by Nnamdi Kanu. One of its major principles is the "Command and Control" mechanism. An animal-farm-like mechanism used to manipulate the minds of its members. Erring, or more appropriately, independent-minded members are regarded as 'Sabos' for daring to challenge the mechanism. But here's the problem: despite heading such a powerful group, Edoziem is 'powerless' as he lacks the charisma and guts of Nnamdi Kanu. He's more of an introvert. Perhaps, his appointment was a deliberate action by Nnamdi Kanu to avoid a repeat of his sacked deputy, Uche Mefor. Kanu may have intentionally chosen a weak head of DOS so as to rule unchecked and still not be accused of being authoritarian.

Simon Ekpa on the other hand, though a one-man squad, is the complete opposite of Chika Edoziem. Even though he holds no position in the hierarchy - in fact he was recently disowned by the group - he wields more power over the members than the governing body, DOS. He's eloquent, charismatic and charming. His 'autopilot movement' swept away IPOB's 'Command and Control' mechanism. The 'weekly Monday's sit-at-home' order is a perfect example. Simon used 'autopilot' to savage Edoziem's 'Command and Control' until the center could no longer be held. This was the last straw that broke the camel's back.

If the massive loyalty, the attention, the prestige Simon Ekpa attracts put Edoziem's pride in the coffin, the autopilot movement nailed it. It was a massive blow to not just Edoziem, but the entire DOS hierarchy.

To checkmate this and clip Ekpa's wings, the DOS embarked on a campaign of calumny against Ekpa. Radio Biafra, a notorious propaganda machine set up by Kanu was hurriedly converted into a gossip mill where all kinds of calumnious reports were manufactured to tarnish Ekpa's image.

According to a source in the hierarchy, the campaign was designed to force Ekpa to surrender his support base to the DOS. This was the so-called conditions he was asked to meet. But Ekpa, being smarter refused, insisting he will broadcast on the radio without any condition. Angered by his defiance, Edoziem and his allies kicked him out of the station and subsequently disowned him publicly to humiliate him.

But Mr. Ekpa already knew that was coming. He and his top allies mobilized to create their own live streaming platform under a bigger banner called "Enterbiafra". A top source informed this writer that the platform is the final step before Ekpa's own group is formed.

Ekpa, the source revealed, at first didn't buy the idea of forming a splinter group. But as things began to get clearer and persuasion heightened, he gave in.

Some bandits in a separate attacks have killed three persons, including a pilot, in two local government areas of Kaduna North and Kajuru, Kaduna State.

The pilot, Captain Abdukkarim Bala Na’Allah, said to be the eldest son of Senator Bala Na’Allah, was killed by the hoodlums in his Malali (GRA) residence in Kaduna North Local Government Area on Sunday.

Senator Na’Allah represents Kebbi South Senatorial seat in the Senate and was the Deputy Majority leader in the Eighth Senate.

An aide to Senator Na’Allah, Malam Garba Mohammed, confirmed the killing of the trained pilot.

“Suspected Kaduna Bandits Kill Captain Abdulkarim Bala Na Allah, the first Son of Senator Bala Na’Allah, in his Malali GRA Residence Kaduna today,” said a statement trending on social media.

Meanwhile, on the Kajuru attack, it was said that the bandits invaded the Makoro Iri Village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna States and killed two persons.

It was learnt that the bandits stormed the village and shot indiscriminately and killed the two on Saturday night.

The state Commissioner for Internal Secretary and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, identified the victims as Gideon Mumini and Barnabas Ezra.

The Commissioner also said that troops of the Operation Safe Haven rescued travellers along the Gidan Waya- Godogodo road in Jema’a LGA of the state.

He gave the names of the rescued travellers as Jibril Salisu, Happy Sunday and Ruth Dauda.

The Commissioner said, “Security agencies have reported to the Kaduna State Government that two persons were killed by bandits in Makoro Iri village of Kajuru LGA.

“According to the report, bandits invaded the remote village and shot dead the duo identified as Gideon Mumini and Barnabas Ezra.”

Once again, another aide of the Minister of Interior and former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola escaped death narrowly as assailants laid siege to his house.

The aide, Abosede Oluwaseun who is a staunch member of The Osun Progressives (TOP) while narrating his ordeal explained that on Thursday night, his house at Dada Estate area of Osogbo was besieged by five hooded armed men.

Oluwaseun stated that the men gained access to the compound by scaling the fence and entered through the kitchen door as his wife was about to close it.

He stated that the assailants threatened to kill him and both he and his wife were tied up and mercilessly beaten with a machete.

During the ordeal, the aide stated that the security features on his phone were deactivated and all the money in his account transferred to that of his wife whose ATM card had earlier been collected.

After the operation, he explained that the armed men left with his Toyota Camry, adding that the car was later recovered early Friday morning with the number plates detached after the incident was reported to the Dada Estate Police Station.

Recall that on Saturday, 14th August, 2021, Biyi Odunlade, a former commissioner under the administration was violently attacked in his Ile-Ife home by unknown gunmen.

The incident came some hours after the Ambassador Obed Wadzani Osun Ward Congress Appeal Committee in Osogbo was violently disrupted by violence and sporadic gunshots.

Confirming the incident, the Osun Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola stated that she was aware of the attack, adding that it was reported to the Dada Estate Police Station and the car duly recovered.

She assured that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the assailants.

A video shared by a tweep, Aliyu Dahiru Aliyu, shows some Fulani people worshipping at a Sunday Service, in Hausa.

According to him, the Fulani are being 'christianised' in the region, contrary to the belief that the Fulani are 'fulanising' the region.

ANigerian pastor and author, Dr Bolaji Akinyemi has asked the Nigeria Police and the United States Government to investigate the claims of Senior Pastor and General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman of receipts of miracle bank alerts by his congregants, at gatherings in Edo State, Nigeria, and Atlanta, USA.

In a video containing clips from a Holy Ghost Convention in Auchi, Edo State in June and an Impact 2021 programme in Atlanta, USA in July, Suleman had declared that angels would credit the bank accounts of some members of the congregation.

And as the video revealed, many congregants presented their testimonies of receipt of instant credit alerts from "angels".

“There is a miracle alert here; she just got a miracle alert of $1,000. Miracle alert!” Suleiman had screamed.

“As you get it, run here. Angels will begin to put money in your accounts.”

One congregant who came out even said he received an alert of $989 and 70 cents.

“Papa, there is a miracle here,” one said.

“You gave your word at about twelve minutes past eight, and it is now thirteen minutes past eight and she has been credited with several zeros.”

A vlogger, Israel Balogun, who later exposed the money miracle 'session' was arrested by the police.

In a letter to the Attorney General of the United States of America, dated July 23, 2021, through the Office of the Legal Attaché US Embassy, Abuja, Apostle Akinyemi requested an investigation into the incident as “it is capable of sending wrong information to the global community of churches and may also bringing the CHRISTIAN FAITH to disrepute, derision, and ridicule.”

He said, “I hereby request a thorough investigation into the claims of a pastor, Apostle Suleman of receipts of miracle bank alerts by congregants, at a gathering somewhere in Atlanta USA, the nature of the said miracle, if not address has the capacity to ridicule your banking system.

“This incident as captured in a video, with the link herein attached as evidence, took place in Atlanta Georgia USA, the said man of God is a Nigerian, whose ministry is based in Auchi Edo State, of interest to us, is the model American churches has become their global counterparts. https://fb.watch/73huwk2HOF/

“It is expedient that this incident be investigated, as it is capable of sending wrong information to the global community of churches and may also bringing the CHRISTIAN FAITH to disrepute, derision, and ridicule. “The Special Fraud Unit of The Nigerian Police has been briefed of this ugly development and has promised to carry out an investigation, but since this act of banking system manipulation took place on American soil, we are duty-bound to keep you abreast of your responsibility. We look forward to your positive response, I will also be available to give any Biblical interpretation information that may be relevant in the course of your investigation.

In his petition to the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit, dated July 23, 2021, the priest requested an investigation into the claims of the pastor.

The petition read, "I hereby request a thorough investigation into the claims of a pastor, Apostle Suleman of receipts of miracle bank alerts by congregants after praying in a gathering somewhere in Atlanta, USA.

"This incident as captured in a video, with the link herein attached as evidence, took place in Atlanta Georgia USA, the said man of God is a Nigerian, whose ministry is based in Auchi, Edo State.

"It is expedient that this incident be investigated, as it is capable of sending wrong information to the public and also bringing the Christian faith to disrepute, derision, and ridicule.

"Putting this kind of unsubstantiated claims in public is capable of undermining the security apparatus of the banking system, as the congregants claimed to have received the alerts from their various banks.

"I look forward to your positive response as I will be available to give any Biblical interpretation information that may be relevant in the course of the investigation."
