PropertiesDo Kitchens Have Triangles? by Genials(op): 11:31am On Sep 19, 2019
Whenever I hear someone say, "I like cooking , but detest the kitchen". The question I ask such a person as an architect with specialty in Interior design/decoration is " how functional is your kitchen ?".

You see, a functional kitchen is really not one with all the appliances/gadgets. To explain this we must first of all understand what is termed "KITCHEN TRIANGLE".

Kitchen triangle is simply a concept that guides you when you are planning your kitchen space. It helps you to know where and how to place your SINK, COOKER and REFRIGERATOR.

So for a kitchen to be considered efficient, it must not only have the food preparation, cooking/serving and washing up zones. All those zones must be well coordinated.

How you move from the food preparation zone to the cooking/serving and then washing up is what really matters basically.

In the photo R represents REFRIGERATOR
S represents SINK
C represents COOKER
