@Tvegas UPDATE on awoof ticket grin My sis-in-law just spoke to them and they said one has to travel between now and March next year, she couldn't get the promo for April. Also for travel between 14th December and January 14th, the promo does not apply o chei grin grin
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 11:34am On Oct 21, 2014
My brother the promo ends on the 29th of October o, that was what I was told when I called Delta so the ticket must be booked before then. They didn't specify a time period for travel, for example I just checked January ending till Feb next year for someone on Travelstart website and na 95k I still see o. grin grin grin correct Oyingbo market runzz

Tvegas:
Is there a time frame within which you must travel or is the pricing based on payment before a certain date. Abeg make una answer me now ooooooooooooo, lemme go and cancel my christmas booking. This is black market and Oyingbo market combined, bend down and select.grin grin grin

Pmama:

@GenoMI, why you wan do me like that now, you that I wanted to go and try Gwinett and give me feedback, now you want to port, anyway, I sent a mail to Gwinnett and I got this 10-12k for a 4 day stay, of course with the 40% discount but it has been so difficult calculating the exact amount for their CS. Please anybody that has used Gwinnett for CS should please give me an estimate. I also contacted Dr. Oduro, whose charge is 2600 for CS

My sista, the shock wey carry me when I saw that price on travelstart website, I just had to call Delta myself grin grin.

Once they confirmed, I booked it and paid sharply. Right now I am using ALL my energy to research hospitals in Houston on this thread grin grin, might as well go there since I got such an amazing deal on the ticket. It's not like I have relatives in ATL so Gwinnett is not by force, LOL. I was only bent on going there cause I know some1 who has used the place and gave good reviews. Thanks @TeamclicksAir I have been thinking but I have to find a way around it as I already made payment, lol. Checked tickets from houston back to atlanta, got $138 on delta on Expedia

TeamclicksAir:
United is 248 while BA is 273. You can use either and BA has one stop while United has 2 and you also get a free bassinet. you would spend minimum of 45k for another flight to atlanta from Houston if you head first to houston. Also consider the stress if the airport is I'm another terminal.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 4:54pm On Oct 20, 2014
Hi @jennys, i'll also be using Dr. Soyoola and Gwinnett, traveling in December, due in january. When are you guys travelling? Though my accommodation option for now is $1,600 including feeding and transport. I wouldn't mind sharing though if there is something much cheaper and I won't be all alone.other options I had looked at are extended stay apartments, you can look up Crossland economy studios in Lawrenceville.

jennys:
Hello, everyone. I have been an ardent reader of the forum and I commend everyone for sharing their views and experience it really does help.
I have a few questions to ask please. I intend to use Dr Soyola (Gwinnete medical center Atlanta). am looking for a two bedroom apartment close the medical center (travelling with a pregnant friend) please will appreciate any valuable information on accommodation.

I've done that o, for atlanta on Delta. Infact I just asked them again they even now said 331k
TeamclicksAir:
clear the cookie of your browser. It's 256k am seeing with your date.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 4:00pm On Oct 20, 2014
@anonymousmum I asked and the lady told me that it's a promo they are running until the 29th of October I.e one has to book before then. Changes can be made but subject to fees depending on the change. Also, I immediately requested and booked for a bassinet for the journey back to lagos. I was asked to pay an additional 19k to secure an economy comfort seat which is where a bassinet can be used.

anonymousmum:
But seriously guys, at the risk of pouring water on a sweet deal, please read the terms and conditions wella.

How much is it to modify itinerary on this particular class of ticket? Can you change dates easily, add an infant, etc etc?

Caveat emptor o, you never know what the catch may be...
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 3:49pm On Oct 20, 2014
Hmm even me I don book am though I'm going to ATL not Houston, LOL. Paid 113,187. I will figure out how to get around it later, anyone with ideas please share. I booked by calling the Delta office in Lagos on 01 279 9000. I still don't get it though, the exact same date to Atlanta is 323k and this houston ticket will still pass through atlanta

No o, it's to George Bush, I called the Delta office.

shelly23:
If I read correctly, the 111k price is to Hobby Airport, also in Houston, but much smaller. Maybe you were checking the price to George Bush International Airport, which is the more common airport for international flights.

Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by GenoMI: 9:01am On Oct 20, 2014
As in ehn Phema, I thought about porting to Houston for a minute cuz even my dates to Houston is 111k on Delta shocked

@teamclicksair and fellow NL'ers Biko help a sister out, ijebu behaviour has put me in trouble. I have been procrastinating on the purchase of my ticket to Atlanta for first week in December (5th max) to return around 6th of February, been checking prices for over 3 weeks now and was supposed to book United at 224k with 1 stop-over in Houston on both legs of the journey. I didn't book because I kept hoping I would see a cheaper ticket, only for me to check on Friday night and notice that it has gone up to 323k shocked cry cry cry. Even the other airlines I would have consider are in the same price range - I have only seen 225k for 2 or more stops on each leg of the journey and I cannot imagine how stressful that will be. Please is there any hope of the prices going down again before December? HELP!!!! cry cry cry

Thanks @kykes for clarifying this - the tickets I am seeing are for just one stop so I'm covered

kykes:

You will only need a schengen visa if airfrance stops over in 2 schengen or more countries before heading to usa. If it's just one schegen country e.g France, u don't need a schengen visa.

Freshface:
Just got into Phoenix today via Houston as POE using United Airlines.

Hi @Freshface Congrats on your smooth POE. Kindly explain how you were able to fly united in the end even though you were above the 32 week mark. Did they accept a fit to fly letter? I want to buy my ticket and they are the cheapest right now, but I plan to fly at 34 weeks.
