Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by GenoMI: 4:11pm On May 21, 2023
Hello house. Please I have a question about proof of funds. A friend of mine wants to go for her undergraduate studies (3 years) in the UK and has a family friend who is willing to sponsor her studies. She doesn't have a job but her sponsor is willing to foot the entire bill.

1. Does she need to have POF for the entire 3 years in her account to apply for the visa?

2. Will she need to also submit her sponsor's bank statement along with hers (since the sponsor will be transferring the funds to her account)?

3. Does the sponsor need to submit any other documents? Or write a supporting letter? What should the content of the supporting letter be?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi @Jbab - did your friend pay for priority service? Also was it VI or Ikeja (not sure if that matters)?

Jbab:

A friend had his Tourist visa biometric appointment on the 25th of August and collection mail on the 20th of Septembert. A frequent Traveller though.

Hello everyone, please a question on bealf of a relative who is planning to go for her Masters in January 2022. She plans to go with her hubby and 2 children and he has transferred all the funds into her account for the tuition fees, and maintenance for the whole family as he is sponsoring her.

Now the question is, does he have to write a letter of sponsorship explaining that he transferred the funds as he is sponsoring his wife? If so, does anyone have a template they can share? Thank you.

Hey mums, is it possible to travel from Lagos to Houston via the UK (BA or Virgin)? Someone told me that flights from the UK to the USA are not allowed until November and I just want to know if this also applies to those just transiting at Heathrow.

This is true. See below correspondence I got from KLM today.

What is this that I am hearing about getting a Transit visa if travelling from Nigeria to the United Kingdom via KLM or AirFrance?
Do we now require a transit visa?

Yes my family had travel experience but not extensive at all.

For the visa category I applied for (UK Global Talent), the only documents we were required to submit were the letter of endorsement from the UK Home Office, and our passports. We also included marriage certificate and a few wedding pictures in my spouse's application to prove that we are indeed married.

Other than that, no need for financials or any other documents. My own application, I sent just my passport and the letter of endorsement. Same for my kids (although we had to include their birth certificates too to show that they are truly our kids).

My field is the Digital Technology sector and I applied for the Exceptional Talent category since I have over 10 years of experience in IT Business Analysis / Product Management / Technology Operations.

I'm co-founder at a GovTech startup in Nigeria (started in 2016) and evidence of this formed the bulk of my application although I have friends who applied as employees at tech startups and also got endorsed so it's really all about packaging your skills and experience in a way that highlights your best achievements.

I followed the guidelines for the 10 required pieces of evidence (though I did not exhaust the 10, I think I only submitted 7 pieces of evidence) and submitted alongside with 3 letters of recommendation and my 1,000 word personal statement. In hindsight, I would advise anyone applying to submit the maximum number of 10 to give a better chance of making a case for yourself.

When I applied for the endorsement, I was initially rejected and so I decided to write an appeal and answered every single point the assessment panel had made which I backed up with facts from my application. The appeal was favourable and their decision was changed which was how I got endorsed.

It is not an easy process and is really quite daunting. It took me a month to put my application together. Getting 3 letters of recommendation also took quite a bit of time and also writing the personal statement.

Having said that, it is very doable and so if you have any more specific questions, please let me know.

Please, how where you able to get endorsement for the global talent and what's your field?

Hello house. Please I need some help. I booked a UK Visa appointment on the TLS website and paid 11,700 for the assisted service. Now I want to reschedule the appointment for a later date (the previous date I booked is still about a week away). I logged into the platform but it appears I have to pay another 11,700 . Please can anyone kindly share if they've been through a similar experience? Thanks in advance.

Jobs/Vacancies / Aspiring Interns! I Interviewed One Of The Co-founders Of Stutern (by Jobberman) by GenoMI: 5:27pm On Apr 06, 2016
If you are a student or fresh graduate thinking about undertaking an internship, this is for you. If you haven't thought about an internship, then this is the time to seriously do so.

I had a chat with Kehinde Ayanleye, co-founder of Stutern (By Jobberman) to discuss:

- The process of getting an internship through Stutern (which is quite seamless I must say)
- The issues that prevent students and fresh graduates from getting into internships
- Tips on what to do to be successful at the selection process
- Their recent partnership with Jobberman, and what this means for aspiring interns

Hello house,

Hope your week is going on fine.

I’m organising a Free Workshop (on Whatsapp since people don't find this data matter funny grin grin grin ) on the 2nd of April, 2016.

I will share my tips and tricks on how to make yourself attractive to employers, as well as how to determine whether or not your CV passes the famous ’30 second test’. We will also have a Q&A session where you can ask me your questions.

I used the same strategies to:

- Work with 8 different companies (part time) as an undergraduate in University
- Land 2 solid graduate job offers before graduation
- Change jobs pretty much every year since graduation (6 jobs in the last 8 years)

The session will hold on WhatsApp because I’m trying to go with the least data-intensive option possible.

Sign up for the workshop here - http://skillsonthehouse.com/get-the-job-of-your-dreams-workshop/

I hope to see you on the 2nd of April.

Also,

I have a limited number of slots (10) for 1 on 1 consultations where I spend an hour with you to:

a) Discuss the problems you are facing with regards to getting a job
b) Understand what you have tried to do to resolve this challenge so far, and why it hasn’t worked
c) Get a feel for ‘who you are’ as a jobseeker
d) Review your CV and give you detailed feedback on possible areas of improvement

This session is not free, but if you are among the first 10 people to take this up, you can pay me whatever you want.

If you're interested, please send me a message - http://skillsonthehouse.com/contact/
