Meerahbel: How did it go? It wasn’t that bad 😂😂😂 When I got there I met people with experience, I was just looking like groundnut, when I got there I was asked normal questions then we got into discussion, seems they want people with experience in sales let’s see if they get back, but it’s a great experience, if not sales I might be considered for another thing. Let’s see |

Meerahbel: It sounds like you're feeling uncertain about this interview opportunity, and that's completely understandable.
Firstly, congratulations on being recommended for the role and having an interview lined up!
Considering your concerns, here are some thoughts to ponder:
Weighing the Pros and Cons 1. Experience: Sales jobs can be challenging, but they can also provide valuable experience in communication, negotiation, and problem-solving. 2. Industry growth: You mentioned concerns about the industry's growth prospects. Research the company and industry to better understand their potential for growth and innovation. 3. 9-5 routine: Sales jobs can be demanding, but they may also offer flexibility in terms of scheduling and autonomy. 4. Career goals: Consider how this role aligns with your long-term career goals. Will it provide a stepping stone to more senior roles or industries?
Preparing for the Interview 1. Research the company: Learn as much as you can about the company, their products/services, mission, values, and culture. 2. Review the job description: Study the job description carefully and prepare examples of how your skills and experiences match the requirements. 3. Prepare questions: Come up with thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer about the company, role, and future prospects.
Deciding Whether to Attend the Interview 1. It's okay to say no: If, after weighing the pros and cons, you decide that this opportunity isn't right for you, it's okay to politely decline the interview. 2. Attend the interview with an open mind: If you're still unsure, consider attending the interview with an open mind. This will give you a chance to learn more about the company and role, and you can always decide afterward whether to pursue the opportunity further.
Regarding your concern about turning down the opportunity, you can always express gratitude for the recommendation and the interview opportunity, while also explaining your reasons for declining the offer.
I hope these thoughts help you make a more informed decision! Thank you so much, I have made up my mind to attend the interview tomorrow at least to see what they can offer, I will keep you updated boss |

Earlier today I got a mail that I have interview scheduled at 10am on Thursday at Ogun state, I was recommended by a family friend, I only told them I’m done with nysc and I sent them my CV, they were like they do put me somewhere, now it’s sales job, I have heard stories of people how sales jobs is hard bla bla I’m not a lazy type but I don’t want something like this which is hard to turn down, my thought is that if I ignore the interview they do think I’m not serious, I don’t really like the idea of doing 9-5 especially in industry that has no growth, of course it’s not a cooperate work, I just need an advice especially if you have experience doing sales or know the company in question. I know someone has to start somewhere but 🥹 |
