The gunmen attempted to rescue some terrorists including suspected Boko Haram members in the prison

– The gunmen however failed in their mission to attack the heavily fortified prison as they were repelled by the country’s security

Some gunmen stormed a tightly secured prison in Niger in an attempt to rescue some of its members who have been held in detention in the country, Reuters is reporting.
The report said the terrorists failed in their bid as they were repulsed by the country’s security. The prison habours members of the Boko Haram and other suspected terrorists.

The incident, according to the report, occurred at Koutoukale, 30 miles northwest of Niamey, the country’s capital.
The report quoted Mohamed Bazoum, the interior minister of Niger, as saying: “I can confirm one dead among the attackers. He was wearing a suicide vest.

“The situation is now under control and our forces are combing the area to try to catch the attackers still at large.”

Bazoum however said he was sure the attack was carried out by the Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJWA) based in Mali.

The report further described Niger as surrounded by security-troubled countries like Nigeria, Mali and Libya.
The director of the Koutoukale school, Abdoul Razak Ali, was quoted as saying: “We heard sustained gunfire coming from the prison just as we were going for (early morning) prayers.”

Politics / Aisha Buhari Issues Stern Warning To Her Husband by gentleman5: 11:09am On Oct 14, 2016
Abuja - First Lady Aisha Buhari has warned her husband that he may lose her support at the next election unless he shakes his government up and makes things right, Naij reports.
Speaking during an interview with the BBC's Naziru Mikailu, Aisha Buhari revealed that her husband "does not know" most of the top officials that have been appointed in his administration while stating that she does not share the vision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
"Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position," Buhari said.
Mrs Buhari disclosed that her husband has yet to confirm whether he will be contesting the 2019 presidential election but stated that she would not be supporting him should his administration continue on the course that it is currently on.
"He is yet to tell me but I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again," she stated.
Despite mounting pressure to cut out parts of the interview, the BBC Hausa service aired excerpts of the interview on Tuesday, October 11, stating that the only way the interview would be withheld is through a directive from Mrs Buhari herself.
Since his success in the 2015 presidential elections, Aisha Buhari has denounced herself as the First Lady of Nigeria, instead stating that she prefers to be address as the "wife of the President", a separate Naij report revealed.
