Badgers14:
louvers window,

Are these ever going to make a comeback??

Any technical/mechanical downsides ??
I don't know about louvre glass making a comeback but I know some its downsides.

When the slides get loose the glass falls, may shatter, be ready to replace as many as possible.

It's difficult to clean without having fine cuts on your hands, extra care must be taken when cleaning.

When the shutter mechanism wears out, the control lever becomes stiff, it'll fail to control some slides, they become free; some slide become rigid.

How firm is your foundation?

Typical case of foundation failure due to soil settlement.

Clients should please ensure soil investigation be carried out on the soil of their land properties before any form of construction commences.

A well constructed deep foundation(pile) would have prevented this from happening, maybe the ground surface is underlain by very loose or soft soil materials.
