In fact, kanu's judgement is a very intelligent issue the Nigerian Government will use to rubbish the hypocrisy of the US Government. You said Nigerans are not tough enough on terrorists yet a terrorist was jailed and you made a u-turn and criticize the judiciary of another nation without going through the evidences presented by the judge.
If the conviction of Kanu was wrong then what did the US say about the conviction of Samuel Pop Corn or Ekpa in Finland? At this junction, i think the Nigerian Government should call the bluff of the US and darm the consequences. No nation has the right to order us like slaves. What right have they to criticize a judgement when the right of an appeal is still available up to the supreme Court?

The president should condemn the US Congress in the strongest term possible and prepare to take some diplomatic actions against the US. When was the last time the Nigerian Government commented on any judgement issued by any US Court? The nonsense must stop right now.

The terrorism and Prevention Act 2013 as amended in 2022, of which Kanu was convicted of, made no provision for life sentence.... The offence carries the maximum punishment which is DEATH no addiction or minus. The judge should not because, he wanted to temper justice with mercy, import or lessen the punishment in variance with the act.

The Federal Govt. should as a matter of urgent national importance approach the Appeal court for the reinstatement of the correct punishment..
