Noticed I couldn't register with my birthday. I put a random date in June and registered and updated the date in the profile bit later. x6sc00: |

I added both countries to mine. I stand to be corrected as a first timer but i shouldn't think so as itineraries and circumstances do change. Now i've got the visa i wish i can get 2 more days off work and some more money ill probably squeeze in 2 days in Italy and get out of my bucket list even though was not on original plans/countries declared. hunee: |
I paid the visa fees via card. hunee: |
pufframmy:Yes it helped having it however as I mentioned previously I had been denied same twice and considering the quick return in of my passport I wasn't so confident since it is not automatic or guaranteed that one would get issued. Thanks again everyone for your earlier contributions it helped. hopefully some one else would benefit from my experience. |

As requested. I had previous Schengen visa application rejected twice in 2016 not showing sufficient evidence of home ties. Got Canada visa got in 2018. Evidence submitted in this application is similar to those presented in earlier threads. 1. application form + photograph. 2. Passport + copy Previous visa page / passport. 3. Travel Itinerary showing my holiday plans in both countries for the 10days - hotel + tour activities ( tours listed but i didn't book) i planned to do (as alternative to booking a return ticket). 4. Employee letter confirming employment and approval of leave during the period. 5. 6 months bank statement and my account balance which i have been building up reflected I would be able to afford spending 120€ daily for the trip. 6. Travel insurance paid. 7. Hotel accommodation booked but not yet paid for. 8. Cover letter introducing myself and summarizing the documents submitted and travel plans. 9. Landed Property document 10. Marriage certificate. 11. Kids school report/fees paid. Items 9 - 11 I added as supporting documents to demonstrate personal links to the country of residence which was the reason of refusal in previous application. Apart from the visa fee, appointment fee the only other thing I had to pay prior was the travel insurance. |
Followed this thread. Thanks all for great information captured on this thread. Finally got the motivation and all information to apply and got my visa faster than the advertised 15working days. Biometrics 03/03 Received in Embassy 06/03 Visa 09/03 Paris & Santorini in May . Good luck to all. |
claremont: I have met many Eritreans and Ethiopians, but I'm yet to meet any who got married to a foreigner. They have extremely strong affiliations for their own culture, not much different from the Indians.Wish i was aware because i did not expect such matters to be a stumbling block in this globalised world of today |
jhydebaba: This is nigeriayeah i know thats why i said diaspora. |
Hello Nairalanders, I wanted to find out is it true that ethiopians and eritreas do not marry foreigners especially west african? I was planning on settling down and my parents when i saw them to ask for their blessings they approved the lady but kindly suggested that before i get heart broken i should know that they can date you but won't agree to settle and looking round in my community in Sweden and I realized that i haven't seen any married to non habisha. Is it a coincidence or fact. Any advice is welcomed. |
