HealthRe: Coronavirus May Be Here To Stay - WHO Warns As New Clusters Emerge by Getoverit1:
Seun:
India is very similar to us. They have a corrupt and inefficient government, and a large population which includes millions of extremely poor people living in dirty slums. But unlike us, they are willing to try to do things by themselves, instead of giving up and waiting for the West to do everything for them. Europe, Asia and America will not provide sufficient vaccines to us until they have vaccinated the majority of their own citizens. This may take years. We have Nigerians abroad who know how to make vaccines; why can't we bring them back and use them?
Nigerians or any foreigners abroad sometimes excel because of the cutting edge resources and experience available in the said foreign countries.

If the same Nigerian or foreigners were to stay and work in their own countries , they will be nobodies without the availability of high tech facilities and experience , the very same reason why they migrated to another country in the first place. Do you think developed countries will share their resources and technologies with us ? If you don't have them how will you build the same. It is not impossible but it is bordering impossible.

Nigeria is Nigeria , India is India , each is unique and share no correlation whatsoever. Ad hominem comparisons and similarities don't hide the obvious differences and only increases excuses to hide under.

During WW1 British and Australian surgeons consulted and followed ancient Indian medical texts and techniques to perform plastic surgery on injured soldiers same as it's done thousands of years ago in India.

During my travels i visited royal Australian college of surgeons , Melbourne where I saw the bust of Sushruta an Indian 600 BC honoured as father of surgery.

Indian expertise in science, mathematics , medical science is not of today , it is part of their documented 10,000 years old civilization . It is their pedigree. No other country except for china even comes close to it.

Corruption exists in every country , the important question is the way corruption manifests itself .

There is corruption in Japan too , the only difference is in Japan the corrupt r not greedy they take a small cut while ensuring the quality and timely completion of project is not compromised.

Same across other countries , the only difference is in level of greed by the corrupt.

Unfortunately Nigeria for its much smaller population has more poorer people and it is increasing day by day . Best we introspect for solutions than compare with the incomparable.

It is ironically on many levels that while we are thinking of building BSL 3 labs someday , the same India you compared to , developed and started manufacturing 2 types of mobile BSL 3 lab on wheels in less than 2 weeks just to cater for on demand facilities at any desired location.

Things like this shows the difference between actual real life reality and perception bias with regard to capabilities between any 2 countries.

We have a long road to walk or rather crawl before we can even walk
