My Love,My gift, My curse

If you take my heart do you know what you'll give?
Can you give your soul so I can live?
When the storm arrives, would you still believe?
Or will merciless thoughts flatter to deceive?

Many an angel i have seen fall from heaven up high
While gazing at beauty like yours so divine.
Little wonder you have many nights alone to dine
For mere mortals can only cower for fear of been next in line.

Greater men have tried to poccess the Golden Fleece,
Only to be shattered on the rocks for failing to please.
Persistently I continued, hoping beyond hope that the prize will yield increase,
Pushing forward, banishing all thoughts of strife and disease.

Like Medusa, many a man you had turned to stone,
And like Perseus, i came seeking you to help lay claim to the throne.
My ship landed on your shores as your sirens led me on like a drone,
Yet the taste of conquests to come compelled not even a groan.

A mission to find and own a goddess spouse,
A fool hardy dream to tame the perfect storm in a house.
Fueled by love or lust for the skin oh so soft underneath her blouse,
And a passion so fierce to make even the great Spartans of old as timid as a mouse.

Haughty shoulders accompanied my face oh so proud,
Jealous glares i sneer at and run aground.
Man above men i now stand in a crowd,
Just by having Aphrodite incarnate herself by my side looking so sound.

Celestial treasures come back home with me from my journeys now of course,
Delicious relics of envy, pride and greed, plundered without remorse,
Now i reminisce on the journey of life to claim and carry the great cross,
A journey to find love, to own a beauty which will ultimately be my gift and my curse.
