This is to bring to the notice of the general public that NLNG has started application for its May/June Industrial Training Application and also you can APPLY online. Below are the steps you need for the online NLNG Industrial Training Application.

Students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria who have completed their National Diploma programs for Polytechnics & colleges of education or half way through their degree courses for Universities are encouraged to consider submitting Applications to various companies for an opportunity to withness first hand and practice their various disciplines, this is what the Student Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) program is designed for.

Letter of introduction(On institution’s letter head paper) from student’s institution (NUC/NBTE approved) clearly indicating the following Student’s name Course of study Level of study Duration of SIWES program Start and End date Name, signature and stamp of institution’s SIWES/IT Coordinator Hand Written Application addressed to the Manager HR Services. This should indicate student’s email address and phone number boldly on the top right hand side. Valid Student Identity Card 2 recent passport photographs Students last semester’s registration payment receipt Student Log book(s) issued by the requesting institution Note At the point of applying for a SIWES/IT placement, photocopies of the above documents must be submitted. The originals of these documents must be sighted before any student is accepted and offered placement. Any application without any of the above documents will not be considered. All applications must be submitted NOT LATER than 2 months before student’s SIWES/IT Commencement date indicated in their letter of request. Applications can only be submitted on the last week of each Month. Application submission time is 9am–2 pm daily. The Venue is Employee services Section (HRP/1) I.A. Admin Building Bonny and NLNG ISB Reception Port Harcourt. Enquiries can also be made on such days. SIWES/IT intake will be done Quarterly (commencing 2nd quarter of each year) this means NLNG will ONLY accept Students in April, July and October yearly. Duration for SIWES application remains 6 months (at a stretch) for University students and 4 months for ND students from Polytechnics who have completed their 1st year (ITF requirement). While Industrial Training (1 year) is reserved for Post ND Polytechnic graduates seeking Admission for HND (NBTE requirement). Application Process Student applies at least 2 months before commencement date of his/her program. Application is considered using (but not limited to) the criteria mentioned above. Acceptance list in accordance with demand from Departments is released by HRP/1, two weeks to the commencement date for each Quarter. Student checks names on the list. If Successful, receives an offer letter in which the Induction date is stated. Students commence program after their induction. Candidates who could not attend induction will be replaced by another candidate on the wait list. NOTE Please be rest assured that all applications will be considered based on its merit and in accordance with the National Guidelines issued by ITF/NBTE. Students studying for Diploma Certificates in the Universities or courses not listed in ITF’s SIWES Guidelines booklet need not apply. NLNG does not provide accommodation.

+ Visit the NLNG Career web page and Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
+ Click on the SIWES APPLICATION PORTAL and you will be redirected to the SAP Logon Page.
+ Since you're a first time user click REGISTER to create a username and password that will give you access to submit your application for SIWES.
Correctly complete segments of the application and Note that areas marked with red asterisk are mandatory.
You're advised to upload copy of your SIWES letter from School and other relivant documents as listed in the attachement section
A VALID email address / phone number is required to complete the application. i stress this because your email / phone will be used to contact you about application status updates.

The management Of Scholars.com.NG wishes to inform the general public that Applications are ongoing for the 2015 Fully Funded PhD Scholarship on National Human Rights Systems in Developing Countries.

The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Institute for Human Rights are looking for a PhD candidate to examine the mandate, the roles and the practices of state actors in relation to international human rights standards and systems in developing countries, ideally DIHR partner countries and/or DANIDA priority countries.
The PhD project shall document (selected aspects of) the mandate and the roles played by state actors, and analyse the challenges and opportunities they face, the interaction between different state actors, as well as the relationship to supranational human rights mechanisms.
Scholarship Value

• The Faculty of Law offers supervision by highly qualified academics and provides an excellent opportunity to research contemporary legal issues in an intellectually stimulating environment.
• If you are offered a PhD position, you will receive a regular monthly salary in accordance with Danish law and you will be entitled to an annual research budget. The Faculty does not provide accommodation.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must have obtained a degree that correspond to the Danish Master of Laws or equivalent qualifications.• Applicants must have obtained a minimum overall grade average of 8.2 or above at the Master’s level in accordance with the Danish grading scale
• Applicants may submit their application before they have completed their Master’s Degree, however, they should have submitted the final evaluation for their course before 1 June 2015.
• Applicants must document an aptitude for research through the meritorious assessment of their final thesis, publications or academic recommendations in order to show that they are capable of undertaking the demanding task of writing a PhD thesis.
• Applicants whose native language is not English must document proficiency in English by having passed one of the recognised language tests. For IELTS a minimum score of 6.5 is required. For TOEFL a minimum score of 90 (internet-based) or 231 (computer- based) is required.
• Applicants who have obtained a university degree in a country in which English is the official language (Australia, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada), and applicants holding a Master’s Degree from one of the Nordic universities are not required to submit proof of English proficiency.

Steps To Apply and Deadline

• Click ‘apply online’ to be taken to the online application form. We advise you to have the following documents ready before you begin your online application:
• Research project proposal. This should include the following:
(1) objective(s) of the research,
(2) major research questions,
(3) review of relevant literature,
(4) methodology to be applied in the research, and
(5) a timetable that plans for all course requirements to have been met within three years. The project description must elaborate on the value of the proposed research project in terms of its relevance to existing and future research in the field (maximum 6 pages excluding bibliography).
• The document must be in Times New Roman, font size
12, spacing 1.5 and all margins (right, left, top and bottom) of 2 cm. • Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages).
• Certified copies of original diploma(s) and transcripts (both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) in the original language and an authorized English translation if they are issued in other language than English or Danish.
• A certified explanation of grading scale in the original language and an authorized English translation if it is available in other language than English or Danish.
• The name of a member of academic staff whom you wish to have assigned as your supervisor.
• Letter of motivation that outlines how the project fits within the research priorities at the Faculty (maximum 1 page) and the Danish Institute for Human Rights.
