ebosie11:
Last Sunday, Paul Chidozie, 26, an undergraduate of Geology, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, bagged a PhD scholarship following a text message he sent to the Leader, Enugu State House of
Assembly, Ikechukwu Ezugwu.

For the past 3 years, Ezugwu has been marking his birthday with the award of scholarships to undergraduates from each of the 10 wards in Udenu LGA. It was like the Biblical lesson where Jesus Christ treated 10 lepers but only one person went back to thank him.

Tears of joy rolled down on Ezugwu’s chicks with nostalgia, that out of 20 persons who benefitted from the yearly scholarship scheme, only Chiedozie deemed it fit to come back to show appreciation and wish him many happy returns on his birthday.

Ezugwu said: “Out of the undergraduates that have been receiving this, Chiedozie was the only one who remembered to wish me well on my birthday. I was so touched emotionally and that singular gesture has earned him a full scholarship to PhD level.

Even if am not alive (God forbid) the machinery to ensure that he studied to PhD level has been put in place.”

This year, the 20 benefiting students received N50,000 each, bringing the total amount to N2 million. The remaining former recipients however claimed that they also wanted to send text messages but there was no light to charge their phones

The Truth About Why You Aren’t More Successful

EducationThe Truth About Why You Aren’t More Successful by giztzone(op): 11:44pm On Nov 29, 2015
Here are The Truth About Why You Aren’t More Successful. I read some of the points that am sharing here on a site, and i decided to share it with my readers. In the formal write up i posted here about how you can develop your brain the truth is that this tool i shared below can also assist you. So read well!

1. You’re in self-denial

Denial is a coping strategy that allows us to maintain a preferable image of ourselves. While this may initially keep us emotionally safe from painful truths, in the end it does us no favors – it prevents us from dealing with the real issues. It takes guts to look at yourself and to honestly identify why you haven’t been able to get the results that you want.

Having a bit of self-awareness can go a long way – instead of blaming external forces around you (a convenient cop-out), identify your strengths, as well as your weaknesses (and work to improve them). If you’re unable to achieve a task, don’t just quit. Think about what aspects of your attitude and approach held you back.

Giving up on your goal because of one setback is like slashing your other three tires because you got one flat. – Unknown

2. You don’t do what it takes

It’s one thing wanting to achieve a goal and quite another doing what it takes to achieve it, well let me put it this way if you want to travel to England their are things you need to do. Many people start out with very real intentions of becoming more successful but don’t actually have the commitment to do what it takes. You may start strongly and then give up at the first hurdle and make up convenient excuses for either postponing or quitting the task all together.

Successful people don’t make excuses, they stick to their word and commit themselves wholly to their tasks – if something needs to be done, it gets done. If you’re not willing to take massive action and work for your goals, how do you expect to ever achieve them?

Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. – Jeff Olson

3. You procrastinate and don’t challenge yourself

If you spend more time thinking about tasks than actually doing them, it’s time to make some changes. Instead of making things complicated, put theory into practice and bring your plans to life – you know what needs to be done, so go out there and do it!

What’s stopping you? Don’t let yourself succumb to fears of resistance, failure and challenges. It takes real strength and courage to do what we know we need to do in order to have what we want. If it’s any comfort, we often paint things out to be a lot more difficult than they actually are, but you’ll never know what you’re really capable of unless you give the task an honest try!

Courage is looking fear right in the eye and saying, “Get the hell out of my way, I’ve got things to do.”- Author Unknown.

4. You don’t have the right attitude

No one is completely negative or positive about everything. Because most of us have a mixture of attitudes towards different things, we become so used to our own way of thinking that we’re prone to developing blind spots – it becomes difficult to pin-point our self-destructive attitudes. This is why having a coach as an unbiased, external observer, can help to shed some light on areas you may not have thought of before, as well as to guide you towards making the changes that will help you achieve better results.

It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome. -William James

5. You don’t take the right actions

You may have the best attitude in the world, but if you’re not taking the right steps towards your goals, you’re not likely to achieve them – the wrong actions with the right attitude won’t get you very far!

Becoming more familiar with the trial-and-error method can help you to use your failures as stepping stones to take you further toward success; one wrong stepping stone towards the wrong direction isn’t the end of the world, it’s just one step less to think about!

When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. -Confucius

Unfortunately, the truth does sometimes hurt, but if you’re unable to handle it, are you really cut out for the field you’re hoping to succeed in? Instead of letting the above truths hurt your feelings, use them to empower you! While it may sting a little to think about yourself not being as successful as you want to be, you have the power to change things, as long as you can just be honest with yourself! So think about how bad you really want success and whether you’re really willing to do what other successful people have done to be in the positions they’re in.

Remember, no one is going to achieve your dreams for you – you only have one life to make things happen, so get to it!

The road to success isn’t always as easy as it sometimes appears when judging from the success stories of people living their dreams. Most successful people don’t have the luxury of getting ‘lucky’ and actually have to work hard and put a lot of effort into their goals. So what sets the goal achievers apart from the rest? The answer to this question may not be what you want to hear…

If you’re wondering why you just can’t seem to make it big, the truth is that YOU may be standing in the way of your own success! Most people want to succeed but don’t actually do anything to make it a reality. Everyone has the opportunity to be successful (we’ve all heard hundreds of rags-to-riches stories), it’s what you make of your opportunities that really matters. Thank you for reading!

There are some of the tips i can suggest to you if you want to grow your brain ability
1. Exercise regularly

Well I tell you this is my favorite part, it has help me to fight depression, Well It’s been proven that regular exercise helps to increase brain function and enhances neurogenesis. What I’m trying to say is that every time you exercise you are creating new brain cells! So Get off your comfort zone and get moving! Your brain will appreciate you for that.
2. Do something new

Well this tips was suppose to be for Jambite but i tell you any body that wants to grow in life needs to do something new so When you experience something ‘new’ you actually ‘stimulate’ your brain! Stop doing the same old stuff over and over again, you won’t die if you try something new. So I tell you the only way to change the structure of your brain is to do something new. This creates new neural pathways, increasing your intelligence. You could take a new route to work, try a new recipe for dinner, or even a new form of exercise. So just try it and see how this works. – Wink!
3. Train your memory

Well in this part i would like you to make use of your brain more, what do I mean, instead of using calculated to sum, multiply and add, please use your BRAIN because I tell you your brain WORTH more than you think. How often do you hear people say “I wish I had a PHOTOGRAPHIC memory!’ Yet no-one does anything about this! If you discipline yourself to memorize phone numbers and other important numbers (Insurance, credit card, driving license) you will start to see a marked improvement in your memory. – TRY THIS IT WORK
4. Be curious

– TRY THIS IT WORK
4. Be curious

Instead of taking everything in as you are told try and ask questions like why, how, when who did it and the rest, get into the habit of By being ‘curious’ and questioning everything, you impose your brain to been innovate & create new ideas.
5. Think positive

Having the I can mentality will help you to be the best you wish to be, in your studies and your life generally. Stress & anxiety kill existing brain Cells and also stop new cells from being created. Research has shown that positive thinking, especially in the future tense, speeds up the creation of cells and dramatically reduces stress & anxiety. Please as my reader i will advice you not to dwell in your past or have the i can’t mentality. Don’t fail yourself before you see your result.

Below are some the 8 Movies that taught me great lessons as a student;

1. Akeelah and the Bee

Akeelah and the bee is one movie that really taught me a lot but i will be sharing few of those lessons. The key lesson i learn’t from the movie is to put in my BEST and not to give up even when the WORD is too hard for me to spell and also to climb with those that care about you and your success in life.

2. God’s not dead

After watching this movie i have to seat back and ask myself a lot of question like can i actually stand for my FAITH till eternity or can i just be like every other being with no DIRECTION. Some of the lessons i also learn’t;

* Always do the right thing, you may not know who you maybe saving.
* I learn’t you must pay the price to get what you want in LIFE
*To always stand and declare what you believe in at all times with no intimidation

3. Jack the giant slayer
This movie might not be that direct but still their is a lesson to be learn’t from it. The first lesson i learn’t was that when people don’t believe in your dream don’t stop keep dream until its come to pass and also another lesson i learnt is that i can overcome any obstacle.

4. Like stars on earth
As i was growing up everything about my life can be liken to that of the main character Darsheel Safary, lets put it this way i had a learning disability but i never thought of quieting not even for a day. Lesson from the movie;

Every child is special all you need to do is to understand them and be with them during their though time.
Don’t give up on yourself
When you have the chance to help someone don’t waste a moment, do it, the help you render unknowingly maybe your ticket to be know

5. Time Changer

The lesson from this movie is a straight one, if people don’t believe in your dream make them to live in it and please always know what you want.

6. Gifted Hands

The movie is really a great one but i will advice you if you haven’t read the book try and grab a copy NOW lol, well the lesson from the movie is also a straight one.

Don’t get loosers cheering you up
The movie also strengthen me and made me understand that i can achieve

7. Step up All In
I have to watch this movie over and over again, first for the fun of it, secondly for the lesson that was comes with it.

Now the lesson, don’t give up even when everybody leaves and reject your leading.
Their is a second team out there
Don’t fight your enemy, he or she might be your ticket to winning in life.

8. 3 Idiot

First, don’t be a noise maker
Don’t cram to an exam or to an event.
Believe in your dream and don’t think of quieting when people don’t see what you see.
