TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by GKDGREAT: 5:24pm On Jan 17
Hello everyone. Please i need you input on ILR qualifying period in the UK and would like you to advise me on an issue bothering me.

I received 2 years COS from my employer on Sept 17th 2025(NHS support worker) and I submitted my application along with my two dependents- spouse and son on 18th of September 2025. My both dependents got thier visa approved within 3-4 weeks while mine was pending. After several calls and mails and follow up by my employer with homeoffice, I got mine visa on January 6th 2026.

My worry is that my start date carries Dec2025 and end date Oct 2027- which is not up to two years.
while that of my dependents carry October 2025 to October 2027 .

I am worried this would affect my ILR qualifying period, kindly advise me on what to do.

Thank you.

Who has travelled with airmaroc from Nigeria to Heathrow? What is the experience like? Too many negative reviews about this airline online…
If u can afford travelling with another airline pls do. My experience with them wasn't good at all. I actually used them cost of their cheap flight ticket.

Yes. Airmaroc

You used airmaroc or another airline?
At least if they can burgle under settlement. Then I prepare the settlement when going. It is far better than not allowed to carry the dry fish stuff or buying it in the UK at a much costlier price.

How is Swansea in terms of availability of jobs?
Well to be candid with you job opportunities here isn't much compared to some other big cities in say England . Just get your mind prepared, u cud be lucky to get a job on time and it cud take quite some months on the other hand.

I am flying with airmaroc from Lagos into Heathrow by next week. I am to carry some food stuff with me as well but I heard the NDLEA in our airports are refusing people from carrying Stockfish and some food stuff even medicine. How true can this be?
True. They didn't want me to carry my dry fish with me. I had to beg the guy that searched my box and he agreed on the condition that I settle him. Unfortunately for him, I didn't see him again until we were boarding and I had already given out all the naira I had on me to a random stranger since I knew the money wasnt going to be useful to me anymore( this happened last year Nov and I had the old naira note on me.
