PoliticsOndo Governor Aiyedatiwa Buys Boole On Akure Street, Residents Cheer (Photos) by Glimpsetv(op):
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, caused a buzz in Akure on December 24, 2025, after he was seen casually stopping by a roadside vendor to buy boole, the popular roasted plantain snack.
The unexpected moment happened in the state capital, where the governor stepped out to interact freely with residents, exchanging greetings and engaging in brief conversations. His relaxed presence among the people quickly drew attention and excitement from those around.
The street interaction formed part of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s ongoing “Thank-You” tour across local government areas in Ondo State. The tour, which began in late December 2025, follows his recent electoral victory and the legal confirmation of his mandate.
Just days earlier, on December 17, 2025, the governor embarked on an inspection tour of key infrastructure projects in Akure, including the Irese Flyover as well as the dualization works on the Akure–Idanre and Ijoka roads.
Throughout his December engagements, Governor Aiyedatiwa has also been rolling out festive palliatives to residents and party members in celebration of the yuletide season. Earlier in the month, on December 12, 2025, he officially flagged off the construction of the 8.8-kilometre Akure–Ijare dual carriageway.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express shock and confusion after discovering that several ShopRite outlets in Abuja were shut down.

According to her, she first visited ShopRite at Silverbird Galleria, only to find the store completely closed. Thinking it was a one-off issue, she proceeded to ShopRite at Jabi Lake Mall, but met the same situation — doors locked.

Still hoping to shop, the lady then headed to ShopRite at Novare Gateway Mall, Lugbe, but was left stunned once again as the outlet was also shut down.

Clearly disturbed by the repeated closures, she took to social media to ask the big question on everyone’s mind:
“I went to ShopRite Abuja and it was shut down everywhere. Has ShopRite finally closed in Nigeria?”

Her post has since sparked massive reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences, while others speculate about rising costs, economic pressure, and possible store shutdowns.

As of now, ShopRite has not officially announced a complete exit from Nigeria, but the growing number of closed outlets has left shoppers worried and searching for answers.
👀 Is this just restructuring… or the beginning of the end?

"Guys, see how wicked some people can be! My marriage is just a few weeks away, but these girls, none of them bought this Asobi. They’ve been in that WhatsApp group since October, and I even did Asobi for one of them!"

She revealed that almost 29 friends were involved, yet none have stepped up, leaving her feeling that her money has gone to waste.
The post has sparked various reactions online, with some suggesting that perhaps the Asobi is too expensive, which might explain why none of her friends have bought it yet.

BusinessMan Orders Maruwa For ₦35,000 On Temu, See What He Got (Photos/Video) by Glimpsetv(op): 4:29pm On Dec 18, 2025
A man has cried out online after receiving a toy replica of a Keke Napep (Maruwa) he ordered on Temu for ₦35,000.

The video has attracted massive reactions online, with many people questioning how anyone would expect a Keke—worth between ₦3 million and ₦4 million—to sell for as low as ₦35,000. Others also shared similar experiences, accusing Temu of deliberately misleading online shoppers.

According to several users, the platform allegedly advertises dummy or toy replicas of products at very cheap prices, making them appear like the real items. This tactic often affects unsuspecting buyers, especially those who do not take time to carefully read product descriptions and instead focus solely on the low price attached.

PoliticsRe: Lawmakers Allege Alteration Of Tax Laws, Warn Of Constitutional Violation (video by Glimpsetv(op): 8:15am On Dec 18, 2025
Summary:

Nigerian lawmakers have alleged that the gazetted versions of newly signed tax reform laws differ from what the National Assembly passed, describing the changes as a constitutional breach. The House of Representatives has acknowledged the claims and is investigating the source of the alleged alterations ahead of the laws’ January 2026 implementation.
PoliticsLawmakers Allege Alteration Of Tax Laws, Warn Of Constitutional Violation (video by Glimpsetv(op): 8:14am On Dec 18, 2025
On December 17, 2025, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulsammad Dasuki (PDP, Sokoto), raised serious concerns over the authenticity of the recently enacted tax reform laws, claiming that the versions published in the official gazette are materially different from those approved by the National Assembly.

Speaking under a point of privilege on the House floor, Dasuki disclosed that a three-day examination of the gazetted documents obtained from the Ministry of Information revealed several clauses that do not correspond with the harmonized versions debated and passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

He described the development as a clear breach of the Constitution and an infringement on the legislative powers of lawmakers, insisting that the laws now presented to the public do not reflect what he and his colleagues voted for.

According to reports, one of the key areas of discrepancy involves funding provisions. Specifically, references to the Consolidated Revenue Fund reportedly included in the original bills were removed in the gazetted versions and replaced with broader provisions allowing funding through general appropriation by the National Assembly.

The disputed tax reform package comprises four bills, including the Nigeria Tax Act and the Nigeria Revenue Service Act, which were signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on June 26, 2025. The new tax framework is expected to take effect from January 1, 2026.

Reacting to the allegations, Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, acknowledged the point of privilege and assured lawmakers that the House would take appropriate steps to investigate the matter.

Although the lawmaker labeled the situation a constitutional violation, no impeachment process had been initiated as of December 18, 2025. Available reports indicate that the House is currently concentrating on identifying the source of the alleged alterations and conducting a detailed comparison between the gazetted laws and official legislative records.

CrimeMan Raises Alarm Over Number Of Female Child Beggars In Kano (Photo/Video) by Glimpsetv(op): 12:07pm On Dec 16, 2025
A man from Northern Nigeria has raised alarm after filming hundreds of young girls, aged 3 to 10, begging on the streets of Kano.

The man, visibly angered, explained that this is part two of his video series. He had earlier filmed another large group of women, numbering in the hundreds, also begging on Kano’s streets. “These children should be in school, yet they are out here begging,” he said.

He urged the government to take immediate action to stop this alarming trend, expressing frustration over parents in the North having children they cannot properly care for.

This situation is particularly concerning, as these are little girls—and that’s without even mentioning the countless Almajiri boys living under similar conditions.

Adding to the outrage, a Northern public official has allegedly spent $5 million on secondary school fees abroad for his four children, highlighting the stark contrast between the privileged few and vulnerable children on the streets.
