Gunmen kill 15 cattle herders in savage attacks

According to a report by AFP, the gunmen attacked the remote village on motorcycles and killed 12 in the first attack before returning to kill three more while the first victims were being buried.

The spokesman of the Zamfara State police command, Muhammad Shehu , said, “Armed bandits attacked Bawon-Daji village yesterday and killed 15 people.”
A senior local government official, Gado Anka , narrated how 12 had died in the initial attack before the second one that also left many injured.

Report reaching Glibalcasting from Benue has it that Ugboju in Agatu is currently under herdsmen attack.
It was gathered that the community has been taken over by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen.
The attack, sources said, has forced many residents to desert their homes for safety.

MMM founder, Sergey Mavrodi is dead

Sergey Mavrodi, the Real ,founder of MMM, a Russian company that ran one of the world’s largest Ponzi scheme, is dead.
According to a report by Moskovsky Komsomolets, the founder of the MMM series of financial pyramid schemes, Mavrodi, died in Moscow at the age of 62.
Mavrodi was taken to a city hospital from a bus stop overnight Monday, March 26, after he felt weakness and pain in the chest area.

“The emergency team has failed to save his life. He died this morning,” the report said.
Sergei Mavrodi created the company “MMM” in 1992. It quickly gained popularity and became the largest financial pyramid in the history of Russia.

The income of the members who joined it was paid out of the contributions of new arrivals, and when the flow of customers ceased to grow, non-payments began.

300 sacked LG workers protest in Benue
The Local government employees in Benue State whose names were removed from the local government pay roll have staged a protest to the State House of Assembly.
The protesters who numbered about 200 carried placards some of which read, ‘We are not ghost workers, ‘we were genuinely employed, ‘pay us our due’.

Addressing the Speaker and other house members, leader of the group, Emmanuel Iorlumum said they were duly employed in various local governments following approval given by the Benue State Government in 2011, adding that appointment letters were given to them and they signed acceptance forms and submitted same to Director General Service and Administration of their areas.

According to him, the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs staff verification also captured them in its biometric verification in 2014.

Mobile policeman kills soldier over argument in Delta
An unidentified policeman is on the run for shooting a soldier to death in Delta state.

An agreement between both men of the law who were on guard of critical oil facilities operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in Odimodi community, led to the shooting.
The policeman allegedly fired several shots to scare away the mob after he shot the soldier. He was said to have taken the deceased soldier’s rifle also and fled the scene.
