Sigh. Thanks for the update.
Mine is in a few weeks, I have tried rescheduling but no date available. I think it’s so bad & fraudulent to continue to do the interviews when they know there is a ban; the proper thing is to postpone since they won’t refund.

Did my interview today and I just wasted my time going

Nobody is being issued visas. At all. They will interview you normally, ask you all the questions they want to ask as if everything is fine then at the end they will tell you that they cannot issue you visa because of the ban, give you a white slip and then tell you to re apply after the ban is lifted.

Wasted my time. Naturally I would’ve postponed my interview but I already used up all the 5 date changes so my sacrifice is for everyone’s benefit here.

Postpone your interviews till later, indefinitely. Nobody is issuing visas to Nigerians. As far as b1/b2, f1 are concerned

I think you should reschedule until they lift the ban. My parents has an appointment in April and I decided to postpone their visa interview because I know they will be denied the visa because of the visa ban but I heard they will review the ban after 6 months. Honestly, I wish they could just refund me back the visa fees until they remove the ban

There is no date to even reschedule to. I checked up till 2027. Which kain matter

You don't need to cancel your appointment just prepare your 15k dollars bond once they approve your visa you pay the bond before the final approval.

Attend, you've already paid. Note for b1b2 from Jan 21 2026 , you maybe Subject to visa bond. It is the officer that interviews you that determines if you pay and what you pay.

Since you said tourism, note you can only enter the US from 3 airports.
Boston Logan airport
Jfk New York
Washington DC Dulles

This would affect the flight airline you book because your port of entry must be one of these before you get to your final destination.

So think on this if this tourism trip is important for you.

I wonder why are they still conducting visa interviews when they are not issuing visas. The right thing they should do is refund people back their money and stop processing visas application until the ban is lifted . It’s just greed

Honestly. I don’t even know what to do again. I have appointment in March . Mine is for tourism was hoping to travel later in the year. Do I reschedule the appointment or what? Please any guidance will be appreciated. Has anyone gone for appointment recently ?

If you have mentioned (in your ds-160) seeing your former colleague as part of your sojourn in the United States , yes, you can make him or her your point of contact. If otherwise, the manager of the hotel you will be staying can be your guide and a point of contact or any person in authority of one of the places you will be visiting. For example if you are visiting a museum or an amusement park, then, the manager of such places can be mentioned as your point of contact. However, you must have communicated with any person you are mentioning because the US embassy will verify.

As per your DS-160 update, fill a new one and submit, then open a ticket in your avits profile requesting that you want a DS-160 update and after 24hrs, print another appointment letter. 👍

Good evening House, There’s a section in the DS 160 that ask for US contact info. What do I enter ? as the only person I know in US is just a former colleague(not close to me). I am going for tourism

Also pls how do I make update to my DS160 so it can be valid my interview is in 2026, I initially submitted in Feb and it’s gone past 6 months now. Thanks in advance

It's general for B1/B2 and there is no way to resolve it other than waiting or keep checking until they release Lagos dates. People applying for visas are much, staffs are busy so it's a waiting tactics.

** There is however April 2026 in Abuja which you can pick first if you have not gotten any date at all (and change back later) . You can use the last resort of expedite appointment request by first picking any date if you qualify. 👍

Please I want to know if it’s only me experiencing this, but I am unable to select date on the Avits portal for Lagos, it just shows June 2025 and cannot proceed to other months, even other years not showing / selectable. How do I resolve pls

You cannot edit an already submitted form.

But you can fill a new form and same contact details. Hoever, when booking appointment, just ensure to use the DS-160 form number of the form you eventually want to use for the application.

If you have already booked an appointment and have need to change the DS-160 form you want to use, you'll raise a service request about this on your AVITS profile and it will be done from the backend for you.

Good evening all, pls if I need to change anything in my ds 160 (I submitted in March, but have not paid MRV), can I edit the existing DS160 before I make payment , will appreciate guidance pls.

I chatted with several of the AVITS support and they said that so far I was not getting duplicate account or user error message, but several applicants IDs, then I can go ahead and pay the visa fee. They said the applicant IDs appeared like that because I cancelled my application and started again.

Good morning everyone. I cancelled my application and started afresh again and when I checked under my applicants, my name was appearing multiple times with different applicant IDs. Please has anybody experienced such and how was it resolved? Because I want to pay my visa fee and don't want any issues because of it. Thanks a lot.

I faced a similar issue that was how I went to YouTube and watched a video on how to solve the duplicate issues. I followed every steps everything seems perfect until I printed my appointment slips and found the wrong passport number I used to bypass it in the YouTube video on my appointment slip. I had to write to the support team no response yet. But why is the support team so slow?

Good evening everyone. PLEASE I need help. I have made two unsuccessful attempts to pay with my USD denominated ATM card from two different banks. Are the cards not working. Is it better to pay in the bank? Please help with your own experience, while trying to pay on amentun platform ( AVITS).

The only cards that seem to work are cards of US banks. Nigerian bank cards don’t work on their portal, I even tried someone’s UK card, doesn’t work. Bank is your best bet.

Please can you help explain this for me. did you create another Avits profile with another email address?
Maybe it is picking the passport number

Hi.
Don't make the payment otherwise you might ended up paying another MRV. Anything duplicate error must be sorted out first .
You should not have deleted your initial pending appointment. All you need is to click on pending appointment again and it will take you to the page where you will generate another MRV payment advise which you will take to the bank. The payment advice which you generated last for only 3 days and after 3 days it expired and that was why the teller asked you to go and generate another one.
On logging in to your avits profile , all you need to do is
to click on pending appointment but instead you canceled the pending appointment.
WAIT for Avits to clear your duplicate user or create another avits profile entirely by abandoning the present one. GOOD LUCK.

However after starting again, it now its says duplicate applicant found for user error. I check my profile and saw I have 2 applicant ID, but it’s giving me option to proceed and make payment. I have written support and they say they have escalated it, I don’t know how long I will have to wait for them.

Can I go ahead and make payment? I don’t want to make error. Thanks in advance
