BOA25: I am wondering how you got a GCMS note,i thought you can only get GCMS note when a decision has been made on your Application. Because you stated that the reason why your application was delayed for months was because you didn’t submit your birth Certificate. They didn’t request for Additional Documents Required?

Diyke4rich: I was 19years old, actually droped out 200l pol-sci in 2011 lasu to travel out, I am currently 37years, I want to apply early next I will still be 37years. Hmm. This might be complicated but good luck. Another thing is, some programs may admit you into post diploma programs with just your 100-200lvl transcript if you have it. |

Diyke4rich: Good day everyone, I just saw that NBCC courses are really affordable, but a few courses I would like to study are only yearly programs. I was hoping to do a two-year program to enable me to qualify for a three-year PGWP. Another question is, does Personal Support Worker Acute Care qualify one for PNP? Is it advisable to go for the one-year course, and what course is advisable for one to do, especially to get employment after school and PNP? You can do two programs and a lot of their programs are actually 2 years although mine is for a year. Don’t forget you need to show proof of fund for the entire program to actually get your visa approval as IRCC isn’t playing. |

quote author=Gloriousangel post=136461919]Hello Everyone,
I would like to thank JMG for his assistance and support in getting my Canadian study permit. To think I almost withdrew my application but he encouraged me while IRCC took their sweet time.
They literally delayed my application for months because I didn’t attached a birth certificate ( I saw this on the officer’s note when I received my gcms notes a few days go). I attached NPC birth attestation but I guess that wasn’t enough. I proceeded to submit the same birth attestation and a declaration of age affidavit along side a letter of explanation via web form and I got the approval message the next day.
I’m grateful and indebted to JMG for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend to my numerous questions and for helping me submit a strong application. Hello, You can reach me here. Profgordons: Congratulations, this is one of the weirdest reasons an application will be delayed as birth certificate is not even a requirement for the application, unlike PR. Good thing you saw that in your GCMS notes. How long did your GCMS notes take to process? A month. I was surprised too. I even included NPC birth attestation in the initial application. I don’t know why they said it was missing. My application was processed at RROC and not Nairobi if it matters. |

What’s the closest credential I can go for that will prove progression as I’m wanting to study Network Tech. Or cybersecurity given that I’m working on getting my ComptiaA + certification. Pls your replies will be highly appreciated as I’m wanting to start my process ASAP Thanks. Try my school. It’s a two year program. But tuition is very cheap. My course was 11kcad for a year. https://nbcc.ca/programs-courses/program-details?baseCurriculumId=9d27ef52-5c83-439f-b8c1-2de19bd6b259 |

bullstriker: A close family member like a brother is always preferred for study permit sponsorship. So, you can use him as the sponsor if he has the required finance (1yr tuition fee + 20,635+ flight cost), a reliable source of funds for the subsequent year. You have to show your relationship (birth certificates should suffice) and a history of financial support (not just from your brother) from your brother to you and other family members (parents and siblings) if applicable. Let him pay the 1500 CAD from his account to show commitment.
Although you can apply IT in most fields, I am unconvinced that your proposed program aligns with your current occupation. Can you justify the study being a reasonable expense for this career? An IT or business-related occupation would have been convincing. If you intend to move ahead with this program in relation to your occupation, ensure that the program's purpose is well articulated on your SoP to avoid the issue of digression. You are responsible for persuading the immigration officer about your intentions to study the program. Hello, Thank you for the detailed response. I sincerely appreciate. Considering all that has been said here, I would ask him to pay the deposit from his account while we work on paying at least the first semester tuition. My program is for One year so I’m not expected to show POF for a second year. Like you rightly pointed out, IT can be applied to literally all aspect of life and business. While my genuine intention is to pivot into a Business analyst role, I can also word it as I would be coming back to bridge the gap in migrating/onboarding school operations where I currently work from non internet based learning environments to an internet integrated environment along with utilizing my IT skills and knowledge I will gain from the program to bridge the gap between students, teachers and school administrators . I will be in your DMs. Thank you so much. |

There are risk you need to take first to get the reward and a deposit is part of it. I wish you all the best on your Canadian journey. Thank you and God bless you and yours! |

flowmama: Try another school that has a refundable policy or can allow deferring in case you get a denial. Also, with the new IRCC policy not sure Business Analysis is amongst those that can qualify for PGWP. Try something more tech and see a better school that can fit your profile.
All the best Thank you for your message. I’m not sure any school has refundable deposit nowadays. The course qualifies for 3years pgwp. It’s in tech! Information Technology with a concentration in Business analysis and business analysis are in the shortage list. |

MarksmanD: If you're not willing to pay 1,500 CAD non refundable as deposit, then you're not ready to apply for a visa. I once lost 4k USD non refundable after a visa rejection and I didn't die. People have lost more. When you have made up your mind to lose 1,500 CAD, then you can come here for advice on your study visa application. This is kinda harsh. You could have worded this better. 1.7M is a lot of more to over 90% of Nigerians. Message well received tho. |

Hello Everyone,
I recently got admitted into a post graduate diploma program in IT with a concentration in Business Analysis at NBCC. I hold the Nigeria certificate in Education (Economics/ geography) which was obtained in 2015. Since then, I have been working as a teacher teaching Business studies and ICT in a private school. I want to pivot into IT as I believe that’s the future. My sponsor will be my brother but I’m unsure how to properly package my application. I have no travel experience, I’m 29 and this will be my first time applying for a visa to any country.
Additional my school require a non refundable deposit of $1500 cad which I’m not sure of paying due to Visa uncertainty.
Please advise me. |
