Kuwait's Interior Ministry has issued a new circular restricting the recruitment of domestic workers to 10 approved countries, while banning recruitment from 27 others, as part of updated regulations governing the domestic labour sector, local media reported. The measure was adopted based on observations and recommendations from several government bodies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Public Authority for Manpower. Under the directive, domestic workers may be recruited from South Africa, Benin, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam and Nepal, as well as Senegal, where recruitment is limited to male workers only. Recruitment procedures will be completed through the country's governorates. The circular was distributed to residency affairs departments and service centres and took effect following its update two days ago, the source said. The decision also includes a list of 27 countries from which the recruitment of domestic workers is prohibited. The list includes Madagascar, Bhutan, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Togo, Malawi, Chad, Djibouti, Niger, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cabo Verde, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and Angola. For some countries, the restrictions apply only to female domestic workers, while the recruitment of males remains permitted. The updated rules are part of Kuwait's efforts to regulate the recruitment of domestic workers and strengthen oversight of the sector through revised administrative procedures and controls. |

That's the situation I am in presently.... Everything was amazing when I was working and doing fine with my side business..... Suddenly, situation turned around, I lost my job and my side business couldn't even feed my family again due to the economy situation of the country.... She changed drastically that I was surprised to see the other side of her wch I never knew before. Things got tougher and Intense between us during this downtime period. She packed her things and left while in pregnancy. What do I need to do too, I left her alone for my sanity and to avoid total failure. I am presently focusing on myself not even giving room for any downtime. In this kind of situation, nothing speaks louder for u than for u to be successful at d long run. Don't give up n Don't relent |

On a lighter note....there are legal organisations obviously that pay huge salaries to the permanent staff .. talk of Oil companies and other big firms in Nigeria...these staff are balling well and will get more than a Toyota brand new car.... Op's take on this is not accepted at all. Anyways it depends on so many features before one can pour out such insinuations. On the contrary, guyz I'm really hunting for Job, I am a hospitality industry professional (Experienced in Dubai) but I am back to my home country after a four years hustle in the UAE. Visa issue for Nigerians affected me but I choose not to stay in another Man's land illegally so I thought of coming back home with the mission of setting up a small business...But the truth if the matter is that I can't start a business without sufficient capital....so I needed to work more . If anyone has job links or any opportunities where ever...it will be so much appreciated. |
Good day Nairalanders, I decided to make this post because I honestly want to learn and grow in the digital space, and I believe this forum has people with real-life experience who can give sincere guidance. I am very interested in content creation, especially: Making and editing videos with CapCut (CapCord) Learning how to use digital tools to create viral TikTok videos Understanding how content works across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter) At the moment, I already have all these social media platforms, but to be honest, they are not functional. I don’t really understand: How to properly structure my pages How to plan content How to edit videos professionally How to use trends, sounds, captions, and tools effectively How to grow traffic and turn content creation into something profitable I am not just looking for motivation; I am looking for practical learning. Please, I need: Direct links to learning platforms Beginner-friendly courses or websites Communities, mentors, or individuals who can actually teach or guide me step by step Any resource outside YouTube and regular social media, because I want something more structured and personal My goal is to refine and reposition all my social media handles and use them effectively for content creation, visibility, and income. If you have gone through this journey or you know someone who has, please kindly drop links, contacts, or advice. I will truly appreciate every contribution. Thank you all, and God bless 🙏 Pls help to push to fp admin |

I don't trust this Gumi ... He seems so so like he has some hidden agenda against Nigeria...yet to be executed... He should be investigated thoroughly cos his ways do not seem pure. |
This is shades of all wrong..... Kwam 1 has no shame at all ..... U claim U are from the fusengbuwa lineage, U were told to bring or prove it with evidence, U couldn't. Is that not shameful enough..... U still went ahead to file suit against d royalty family. I don't understand such temerity and boldness or confidence that could warrant such moves from Kwam 1. Perhaps he has some kind of Babalawo that is giving him d confidence. Abi na Tinubu dey give am assurance ni Oro yii mawa Sumi keh Abi nibo lajun jasi bayi ni Nigeria wa yii sha |
What an embarrassment What a disgrace....even Ghana deports Nigerians... Y should we blame them . They want peace, tranquility and crime free country. So deporting Nigerian is not d issue here, the issue here is that...they want their country to be a safe place for people to dwell in. As for d deported Nigerians, it's good they met their waterloo...just that this a huge dent on Nigerians. These are the ones tarnishing d images of Nigerians worldwide...not necessarily the so called politicians cos since ever b4 d Independence, politicians are known for their unpatriotic acts..... If we as Nigerians in the diaspora can behave ourselves and let our acts represent who we truly are as great, confident, resilient and accountable Nigerians, we would all see the positive difference this changes will bring to us internationally |
A lot of lessons to be learnt from this write up... Thank you op for this piece. May Allah Azza wajjal continue to bless and guide us aright |
I just hope this whole tax of a thing wch is to be initiated by 1st Jan are all insignificant and fallacies |
It will not sound well if the govt interference Is to pave way for Kwan 1 to be on d vacant stool of Awujale of Ijebu Land..... This will not only put a big dent on the traditional chieftaincy protocol but also bring about gradually abolishing the Yoruba Culture as a whole. I'm not detesting Kwam 1 though cos I'm a big fan of his musical rhythms; and not of his personal lifestyle.... if this whole shenanigan is to make way for a candidate basically Kwam 1, then Yoruba Royalty is gradually diminishing in to the gutter |
NIGERIA!!! The land of the Giants The land of greatness The land of Resilient People The land of Boldness We shouldn't get confused when we see other nationals praising our land. More so it's high time we embrace our own land. May God heal the negative minds so they can as well realise "Home is Home" |
A concise epistle from former minister of Information.... But the truth of the matter still remains that you lied so well during your ministerial position and this inturn had painted you a bad leader right in the minds of Nigerians.... So therefore anything U say now doesn't really matter because Nigerians for sure will take it as a propaganda |
Hello my people, I’ve been thinking seriously about where to put my money in Nigeria that will give me steady returns without stories that touch. Right now, I’m considering three options: 1. Stanbic IBTC Money Market (Mutual Fund) I heard the fund invests in safe short-term securities like Treasury Bills, Commercial Papers and Fixed Deposits. It looks steady, low risk and something you can enter with small money. But the returns no too high like that. 2. Real Estate (Buying Land) People say land never depreciates, especially if you buy in developing areas. But the issue is: – It needs bigger capital – You must buy from trusted sources – Returns take time unless you flip or develop it 3. Buying Assets Like Cars (for Uber/Bolt or Rental) This one can bring weekly or monthly income if managed well. But Nigeria wahala fit show—maintenance, drivers, fuel, repairs, etc. --- So my question to Nairaland experts is: Which of these is truly more lucrative and reliable in Nigeria today? Money market fund for steady returns? Land for long-term growth? Or assets like cars for quick cash flow? Please share your experiences so we can all learn. 🙏 |

NNPC slashes petrol price in Abuja and Lagos An NNPCL mega filling station The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced the pump price of petrol at its retail stations, with prices dropping to N895 per litre in Abuja and N865 per litre in Lagos, signalling intensified competition in the deregulated downstream market. This reduction follows a similar move by Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which lowered its ex-depot price of petrol from N840 to N820 per litre on July 8. The latest adjustment marks the second drop in two weeks by the privately owned refinery, which had initially brought its price down from N880 to N840 per litre. Retail stations operated by NNPC along Igando Road in Lagos and in Kubwa, Abuja, reflected the new pump prices on Wednesday, representing a N15–N20 cut from earlier rates. NNPC outlets previously sold petrol at N910 and N885 in Abuja and Lagos, respectively. The changes come amid increased pressure from independent marketers and regulatory bodies to standardise pricing and ensure consistent supply across the country. Anthony Chiejina, spokesperson for Dangote Group, said the reduction in ex-depot pricing was in response to recent volatility in the global oil market, particularly during a 12-day crisis in the Middle East that pushed crude oil prices higher According to him, the price cut aims to stabilise the local market and maintain supply competitiveness. Chiejina noted that major and independent marketers, including MRS, Heyden, AP, Hyde, Optima, and Techno Oil, have begun reflecting Dangote’s new pricing structure at the pump. He also confirmed that more distributors—including TotalEnergies, Jezco Oil, N.U. Synergy and Virgin Forest Energy have joined the refinery’s domestic distribution network. Meanwhile, concerns over inconsistent pricing and supply disruptions have prompted the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) to convene a national stakeholders’ forum scheduled for July 23–24 in Abuja. The meeting is expected to bring together marketers, refiners, operators, and government officials to deliberate on pricing benchmarks and feedstock availability. Speaking earlier this month at the Nigeria Oil and Gas Energy Week, NMDPRA Executive Director, Francis Ogaree, said the forum would address ongoing concerns surrounding pricing transparency and operational uncertainties in the post-subsidy era. “The deregulated market still requires a coordinated framework,” Ogaree said. “We are working with all players to build trust, standardise pricing, and ensure long-term investment in local refining.” He added that the authority recognises the sensitivity of petrol pricing, especially for consumers, and is committed to stabilising the market while supporting a competitive environment. Petrol prices have risen sharply since the removal of subsidies in 2023, with figures from the National Bureau of Statistics showing an average pump price of N1,239.33 per litre in April 2025—an increase of 76% over the previous year. In response, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) recently suggested a recommended pump price range of N700 to N750 per litre, citing current market dynamics. The downstream sector continues to evolve rapidly, with the entry of Dangote Refinery and growing demand for price regulation putting pressure on operators and regulators to find a sustainable path forward. |
