jeo4u:Fadama has linkage for powerful product processing Phase. If they consider livestock production fundable, then they deal with your suppliers and provide you with running costs and consultants. Then you must ask them those questions in the training, but you should remember that they are particular about 4 stable crops which is easier for them to fund, well, you can even consider a change of business plan too, if you think their payment method won't work or better still you can highlight your disbursement schedule well...the training will answer most of our questions. As for business plan preparation, your business model canvass is a new tool in business plan to show an oversight of your value proposition, your cost structure, your revenue, your channel, your customers, partners etc. I advise you wait for the training to understand more about preparing a business plan or better still you can upgrade what you have now to suite their requirement. |
RealYaks:That's the little research we must do for ourselves, by asking them questions. For example you want to clear , harrow and making ridges your farm and borehole and you stated 250,000 naira for that. All they will do is to mobilize from their society and do that portion for you. Like I said fadama is a society and they have equipment for farming per state, so the money you could be getting is recurrent ones maybe just less than 200k, according to your business plan.....so fadama is capable of doing a farming portion worth 1.5m for you as their input contribution, since they have the capacity, but you don't have that mechanism. Is good we are all here, we shall get correct information from the training and the scope of our farming activities they cam support..I tell you they can merge the cassava or rice or sorghum or tomato agroprenurs in 10 batches as per state and allocate a common land for them, fortify their plans and expect the yields which will be a fadama product, just like fadama rice....they have their plans ordinarily, we just play by it..... just some Speculations.......if you notice, the you win beneficiaries are still carrying protest placard, same for CBN/NYSC Yield beneficiary, also BOI yes p beneficiaries....why? And you notice THAT fadama programs beneficiaries never complain....this is because fadama is a society of farmers and agroprenures and will contribute to your farming activities, plus you must be ready to go into core farming, I mean from clearing to harvesting.........haha its a laudable program I tell you, some product sales and product marketers were even selected, those will market the fadama products.....its interesting right? Lets see how things goes....congratulations to those selected, and for those not selected leverage on the coming phase. |
Mcube012:And you must justify it and make it fundable. Do not go too far away from a normal startup amount....from my past failure and experience..they are comfortable around 2m or below..... |
jeo4u:Some opinion here...or tips on how to know where we could be heading to. Competitive amd fundable BP could connote Viable and realistic one, which is a normal grant or loan routine During the training, all participants will be well guided. The business plan is a normal requisite before loan or grant is granted...so we must present one..during the training they will speak more on that am pretty sure You know have Done training with cbn and bank of industry during their loan offer opportunities.....a competitive business plan with keep the investor or the grant giver an overview of how much and how well to pay, what to pay, and how to pay...so its very feasible we get paid in cash......it might be an input contribution, or equipment and asset support as well as raw materials needed...it will now depend on fadama on their payment method, most time is the latter, since fadama is a society of agropreners Another quick tip is dividing the program set aside amount by the number of participants, in our case based on my little research say 6bn(not sure)/6000 successful applicants, so that leaves is with 1m support or less if we minus training expanses to be incurred.....so those are questions we must ask sud be, what is their support like, what is the ceiling sum they are willing to give per applicant..this will give us an overview on where the program is heading too Anyways, we should give them a benefit of doubt and be hopeful...the welfare package of the training is a good indicator too... |

Malubi:I think another phase is coming up for other states, you can leverage on that. |
lets hope for the best...the program prioritize people venturing into tomato, rice, sorghum and cassava. Above all it is gender sensitive, so most women that applied would be encouraged... finger crossed |
ovieohene:Well, mine was in osun too, while I originated from ekiti, but I was considered maybe because it lies within the same geo political zones. But according to the program, you should be considered, so far they can verify you have access to land there. Also they are targeting people into crops especially cassava, sorghum, rice. |
what they do is to pay your vendors or the suppliers of your raw materials, and equipments. So the cash will be wired from their source to the suppliers, who supplies to the location. That is the practice now, so that funds are not diverted to other ventures as many could be tempted to do. So the training will lead you well on how to write a competitive business pan, a realistic and viable one in terms of costing, quantity, and time. The only money you might get is the running cost that stops when the venture begins to yield. Fadama is a big community of agroprenuers, and requires meticulousness, and mobility This applies to loans too. |
god2good:There are three days options between 13 to 15th from the latest mail I received from the ekiti program coordinator, check their attachment and write them |
ovieohene:Yes some land are by inheritance and generational owned by some family, what about evidence of access to land, like an agreement with owners that you are allowed to use the land for farming activities, showing the location adress and owner signatories. Just thinking though. I wish we can get guys who had benefited from the previous phase of this program. |
