If we escape this international window it will be a miracle. The moment I saw the list, I knew our midfield was going to get run ragged. For some reason, Nigerians seem to think the midfield is not important the way we fixate on attack and defense as if both regions don't depend on the midfield for stability and results.

The starting 11 we used at the Unity Cup is better than this current starting 11.

I'm not comfortable with how lean our midfield is for the Madagascar and Guinea Bissau games though. But Eric Chelle has given me enough reasons to trust him, so I'll just watch him cook.
It seems the Russia friendly is for the U23s, not the senior team. Good. That's a step in the right direction for our U23 qualifiers.
I'm assuming Femi Azeez and Zadok Yohanna didn't make the list because both are still trying to settle at Brighton (especially Femi), plus Zadok might be injured anyway.

When the tournament starts coming around the corner and people around the world are caught up in the euphoria of arguably the biggest World Cup tournament of all time, and we start seeing all the new debutants, the interesting documentaries on qualified teams, the opening ceremony etc. and meanwhile Nigeria is nowhere on people's lips, but we're hearing about success stories of Morocco, Senegal and other teams etc. Na that time our eyes go blur.

The real pain of this miss will hit us next year when it all begins.
