Your car has a flat tire. So instead of getting a fresh healthy tire with a long lifespan, you just decide to pick up the cover of a plastic bucket, punch a huge hole in it and find a way to install it in place of the flat tire. Mind you, the plastic bucket cover has been sitting in a shed for a decade, is visibly cracked, and it is not certain whether it will even manage to hold up the car's weight if the car should just move an inch. This analogy might sound silly but I believe it captures how unbelievably stew peed some people in this thread are.

What we have is not good enough, therefore let's make it worse and burn the whole thing down. That's the extent of critical thinking in this thread. No wonder your national team sucks harder than poorly boiled eggs.

Absolutely trash and rubbish list compiled by NFF. Chelle had nothing to do with this. I don't want to believe he did.

Rafiu Durosinmi and Chrisantus Uche being left out for Usman Muhammad (who the flying heck is this clown?!!) and Salim Fago is absolutely unforgivable.

This team will be lucky to smell semi-finals.

Abeg guys make una no vex. I know how this world cup meant to you all. Lets move forward, hoping that the boys will redeem themselves at this AFCON.

Gracias...
Lol. My brother we haven't even started mourning yet. When the tournament starts coming around the corner and people around the world are caught up in the euphoria of arguably the biggest World Cup tournament of all time, and we start seeing all the new debutants, the interesting documentaries on qualified teams, the opening ceremony etc. and meanwhile Nigeria is nowhere on people's lips, but we're hearing about success stories of Morocco, Senegal and other teams etc. Na that time our eyes go blur.

The real pain of this miss will hit us next year when it all begins.

If you followed the post I am responding to, It was about Reno saying he wont work with Tinubu an later going back to do the same

Which is very comparable with Obi who promised everyone he wont leave APGA but at the first chance, he fled to PDP, fled to LP and now fleeing again

It shows like Reno, Obi does not keep to his words
I've traced back the convo. Unless you're trying to make an excuse for Reno or you're just make needless distractions, I don't see how Obi is relevant to the conversation. Whatever Obi did or didn't do doesn't have any bearing on Reno's individual character.

It's amazing that you could react to my post when I didn't tag you, because your agenda against Tinubu must stay alive and you couldn't hold it.

I remember asking for your opinion on Obi's comment on Yahoo boys, you sidestepped it and till now, you didn't post a line about it. But today you found time to reply to a post that wasn't directed at you, just to attack the person that defeated your Obi to become your president.

Anyways, my post didn't absolve FG of any fault as you claimed but you are always aiming at the President even if local govt roads are not fixed.

In Nigeria, the governor of a state is considered the chief security officer of that state. This means they are responsible for maintaining law and order, overseeing security agencies, and ensuring the safety of citizens within their states.

They are expected to coordinate with federal security agencies like the police, military, and others to tackle security challenges such as insurgency, banditry, or communal clashes. Governors can also set up state-specific security measures and task forces to address local issues. The Governors are closer to their states residents than the President. Ask yourself what these Governors use their huge monthly security votes to do.

Bringing issues of Deborah when my focus was on Plateau, and saying states don't have control of security agencies, shows how desperate you are to hit your target - Tinubu.

We all know how Obi dealt with El-Rufai when he visited his state and how he restricted his movement with security agents. Was it not Obi as Governor that used police to chase away protesting market women with tear gas?
Also, was it not you Obidients crying foul that Benue Governor stopped Obi from visiting his state? But now the Governors are powerless, just because you want to always blame the President.

The hypocrisy stinks but continue.
Why bringing up Obi into this matter? Is it that you people suffer from ED when you don't talk about him? Your gbolahan won't be strong enough to have fun with your lady?

Weep not child. Tinubu is the master of grassroots politics in Nigeria. Tinubu is not in anyway similar to Goodluck Jonathan. Tinubu won the APC 2022 presidential primary elections, despite the fact that the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, among others did not support him.
He won the general elections in 2023, in spite of the artificial scarcity of fuel and naira notes, meant to truncate his success.

CelebritiesNigerian Music SUCKS by GodOfBanter(op): 9:18am On May 18, 2025
It sucks so bad.

The only genre I can tolerate in this country is highlife because of its raw, nostalgic, homemade vibes intertwined with nice storytelling, plus humorous and impactful lyrics about life. The alté scene is also decent (Tems, Lady Donli and the Cavemen are trying). Hip hop in Nigeria died after M.I and Ice Prince went underground (I don't count that YBNL trash as hip hop). The disgusting poison called Afrobeats reigns over all.

There's no more trendsetters, or creative artists in the industry. No one that embodies true uniqueness and originality in the veins of Lagbaja, Weird MC, Brymo, Asa etc.

Burna Boy and Wizkid started off strong. They had unique voices and styles, then they fell off and became generic. Davido has always been overrated trash. Can't sing without auto-tune. His producers always mask his vocal incompetence with beautiful production though. Ayra is just a Tems rip-off, just not as artistic or versatile.

Everything about the industry is about capitalizing on an overused template.

1. Everybody sounds the same.
2. All the beats sound the same.
3. No coherent subject matter in the lyrics. Just vibes and money.
4. Make up a nonsensical word with no meaning and base a trend around it.

The only thing that was saving Nigeria for a while was the catchy beats that made you move your head and body in general, but now even that one sef don cast because every beat sounds alike. Can't tell the difference between Fireboy, Joeboy, Rema, Khaid and so on. Everybody is trying to sound like each other.

It's almost impossible to find any Nigerian artist release a concept album that explores a political or philosophical topic all through. Low IQ, low effort music is what we make in this country, and we mindlessly eat it up. Our taste in music in this country is truly a reflection of our IQ.

Some people will come and whine about how Nigerian songs are popping even outside the country. Okay so? The culture over there is different. Afrobeats is a new sound for them. The novelty is what interests them. I doubt any of them actually sits down to listen to our songs to learn something impactful from it, because we're not saying anything reasonable. They just use it for Tiktok dances, just like Latin pop.

Confusing global success for quality music is an appeal to authority fallacy. We have stupid stuff that is popular. Just look at Portable. He's contributing next to nothing to the industry apart from his stupid antics. And you all sit there and lap up this garbage. Weak ahh industry with weak ahh fans.

1. As I already pointed out earlier that from where I sit, those who watch TikTok-ers are no different from football fans and the lot.
Then you're not sitting at the right vantage point. Stand up and look for somewhere else to sit. 🤣

I don't see why I need to demonstrate anything to you for what is your choice of entertainment. grin grin grin
This argument has never about my "choice of entertainment." Our main focus here is people bankrupting themselves for the sake of parasocial relationships. Your constant bobbing and weaving around this central point is more impressive than any dance I've seen on Tiktok. 🤧

2. That in bold is the exact same thing that football fans and celebrity fans also do.
Football fans buy game tickets to watch Messi play football, not sit down on the pitch and chew groundnut. People buy tickets to Drake tours to watch him perform his own music. You have no point here. Rest. 🥱

And you seem to be arguing that this commonsense for all has to be according to your standards. 😂😂😂😂
I'm not basing anything on my standards though. I am basing my statements on basic financial literacy, which you seem to lack.

3. I have done nothing of that since my very first comment to you.
Cheap lies.

You are instead the one who attempted to classify this as a village people issue. 😂😂😂😂
My "village people" remark was just me using colorful language in a larger argument about financial self-sabotage - which you've been consistently ignoring to focus on needless semantics. Obviously the metaphor flew swiftly over your bald head. 🤦🏽

4. You and I do not have the power to pick and choose for others what they can or cannot watch.
Nobody is trying to dictate or legislate what people watch. What is being criticized here is the content that they willingly pay for.

So long as no law is being violated, and they aren't being cajoled by anything, then you are simply making noise?
Laws are not the only boundary that defines wise behavior. For example, there's no law that says we should not eat sand. But I definitely won't recommend that it should be done. Again, common sense. 🤌🏽

As I tried, however, to point out in my first comment to you, if your worry is instead that some of them instead indulge out of needing to quell the loneliness inside of them, then suggesting they seek professional mental help from a licensed therapist would be the best suggestion you could give.
So you DO agree they need therapy. After all this roundabout whataboutism, you've now ended up circling right back to my original talking point - that THEY NEED HELP. That this behavior stems from psychological issues. Well, congratulations on taking the scenic route to reach the exact same destination I started at. 🤦🏽😂

Assuming you know better about how people should or should not spend their money exposes you as merely a noise maker looking for attention. undecided
I don't claim to know better than most people when it comes to spending, but I can identify relatively wasteful spending when I see it.

1. You are saving them money by casting down their form of entertainment as being worthless by standards by your standards, right? undecided
I'll start taking you seriously when you demonstrate the entertainment value in watching other people do nothing but talk and whine on stream.

2. Ah! You have a problem with folks having this free will, is that it? undecided
Free will is good. Common sense is also good. Having one without the other is exactly how you end up funding a stranger's luxury lifestyle for no tangible reason, while your own finances suffer. It's called priorities. 🙃

3. Addictions— a psychological disorder— are born of mental problems and do not require encouragement since those afflicted struggle to control those urges, to begin with. undecided
You're the one who's insisting that people should keep feeding into their unhealthy, one-sided parasocial relationships, so just between the two of us, who's really enabling here? 🤔

4. Alcohol in itself is not a problem, as many can healthily consume it without loss of control. Nothing wrong with drinking every weekend to release stress accumulated over the week, or something. Addiction— a psychological disorder— is instead the issue when a person is unable to directly control his or her urges. undecided
There's a huge difference between getting a drink for yourself and choosing to spend your last cash on virtual gifts to please a total stranger who has done absolutely nothing to deserve it, apart from moping into the camera, looking pretty, making boring conversations and indirectly begging for gifts. 🤦🏽 I can understand streamers who play games, crack jokes, preach, host debates, draw art or do a myriad of other interesting stuff. But these plastic hoes with no personality or gimmicks, who just sit there and whine, what have they done to earn your money? 🤔 And honestly, it wouldn't be an issue if there weren't millions of these types of streamers on Tiktok. I'll give credit to your position if you can give me just one reason. Go ahead, I'll wait. 😒
EducationProof That Science Courses Are Superior To Arts. by GodOfBanter(op): 6:16pm On May 15, 2025
I see people who studied STEM subjects ridiculing people in the social sciences as being inferior mentally, and it makes me shake my head and hold my belly in laughter. 🤣

Now, picture the scene.

You went to the university and majored in a top STEM course. Maybe it's Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Paleontology, or any of the other bogus nonsense they teach these days. 😂

Before you entered graduation class, you had to do Industrial Training (IT) for 6 months or possibly more. Your IT placement had you making photocopies and buying gala and groundnut for senior engineers in the Ministry of Works who just came to the office to gossip. 🤧 They can't do diddly squat. They are supposed to be veterans but they haven't implemented a new idea since the 80s. 💀

Now, after surviving through SIWES, projects (that you probably bought or copied and re-jigged from you-know-where), the lecturer that failed you for not pulling down your skirts, the lecturer that failed you for not greeting him properly, the lecturer that is a coded beggar etc, you're finally rewarded with 1 entire year of NYSC where your degree in chemical engineering qualifies you to teach unruly little monsters in a government primary school how to spell "photosynthesis." 😭 How much are they even paying at that school. If you're fortunate enough, you might earn up to 15k. Your NYSC allowance can barely cover your house rent, or your feeding, or your transport to the school, but at least the villagers will see your rumpled khaki and be hailing you "kopa, kopa!" 🤌🏽

Then you spent hours, and maybe even days on your laptop crafting the perfect CV highlighting your First Class or 2:1, only to discover that the job listings on Glassdoor and LinkedIn require "10+ years experience" for even the entry-level positions. 🫣 The few ones you manage to see where you're qualified are not even an option, because the pay is depressing. 🫠 But maybe fortune somehow shines down on you and your uncle managed to squeeze you into an establishment after youth service, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with your course of study. 🤧 When you finally secure that work, you then find out just how little your salary is by the time you start pinching out money for transport, feeding, data plans (because most office Wi-Fi are godawful), "appreciation gifts" expected by various office gatekeepers and your family at home. 🤦🏽

But hey, maybe you can start your own business right? 🤓

Wow, such a bright idea, but they forgot to tell you about the reality of navigating multiple taxation by govt agencies with very creative interpretations of tax laws. Or the reality of the capital involved in starting your own business from the ground up in this day and age. You go take loan tire. 😮‍💨 Then when you finally come to the saddening realization that the local industry is absolutely screwed, the next thing on your mind is to japa, only to discover that your Nigerian STEM degree needs "equivalency assessment" once you cross the borders. 🤔 The specific software packages that are being implemented in your industry on a global scale, we're never available at your university, likely due to licensing issues (read: piracy concerns). Now you have to get really creative here, because you're now competing against graduates from countries where the students never had to bring their own chairs to lecture halls.

On top all this wahala, your father and mother still expect you to be the next Dangote oo. Afterall, didn't you study a professional course? 🙂

Although maybe the saddest part of the whole thing is that Nigeria actually desperately needs exceptional STEM professionals. All of our infrastructure, healthcare systems, technology ecosystems, energy solutions and whatnot, all depend on STEM skills to flourish. So the sad part is that you actually chose a path that theoretically should make you highly essential to national development, but the system set in place by the powers that be is designed and dedicated to breaking your spirit down, at every turn.

When you're in Nigeria, bragging about excellence in STEM courses in school is a clown act. 😂 You went and chose a field where you'll learn world class theories, but are doomed to apply those things you learnt in third-world facilities. All the interesting concepts you mastered, where are the equipments to test them out? All your skills are useless in the face of nepotism a.k.a "who know man." 😎 As we speak there are secondary school children on IG and Tiktok making ten times more bank than you in your entry-level engineering position. That is if you even have a paying job yet. 🤣

If that is really your point, then one could argue these folks are paying money for entertainment much the same way sports fans pay sports professionals for the same. So, who decides what is better for whom? You? undecided
The difference is value and delusion.

Sports fans know they're customers. They're watching to get entertainment, and there is entertainment value in every sport.

Online beggars or "streamers" aren't doing squat to keep you entertained. If you're happy or not, it's your damn business. And most TikTok gifters also genuinely think that they're building relationships with people who see them as walking ATMs. Go watch videos on YouTube. There are countless of them delving into this bizarre parasocial phenomena. People who subscribe to OF are arguably better, even though it's still a lil' dumb, because why you would pay to jack it when you can just pay a visit to one Amaka outside on the street?

If you want to see me as a dictatorial arbiter because I'm pointing out the absurdity of the concept, then it's your prerogative. Everybody has free will. I'm not stopping anybody from paying money to online beggars. I'm just saying that it's daft and brain dead, and I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why it's not daft and brain dead. If you want to keep giving hard earned money to online beggars who do nothing to earn it, na you sabi.

This world is funny sha. Just saw a guy gifting one girl today on Tiktok live like say hin gift button dey malfunction on hin own.

We now have a new brand of entrepreneurship, and it has started to spread like a pandemic on Tiktok. These days I can't even watch TikTok Live anymore without this reputable business people doing their... business... or whatever it is. Especially the ladies! Tiktok streamers girls have mastered the art of doing absolutely nothing. They just have to sit on their musty arse and wait for some jobless, effeminate chums to come online and throw hefty cash gifts for no discernable reason.

I remember when people needed to have actual talent or skill to become famous and gain an organic following. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the simps and bums who flock to these pages to shower thousands of dollars in virtual gifts. Money that you will save and take care of yourself and your family, you're throwing it on a liability online, and she's making more than the 70k minimum wage in a single week. Meanwhile, your 2:1 or 2:2 certificate, and roughly sixty-hour workweek cannot even afford you more than three buckets of garri and 1 liters of fuel. Some of you can't even recharge #500 card for your guy, but you will put a girl you don't know on weekly stipend if they don't hold you. Men na we dey do ourselves. Chai.

When will you negative IQ bums realize that these girls are just beggars on the streets of social media? Is it because they can afford make-up and data? I give kudos to the girls though. Dem dey sell better market ontop the heads of wastemen that don't even know their worth. The highest they'll do is tell you "thank you," in the most fake, over the top manner. Sometimes they won't even bat an eye, or they will barely acknowledge the gift in a tone of boredom, especially if the gift is not up to par, blissfully unaware of the possibility that the hapless gifter just spent his weekly savings on her. No be say any of these guys will EVER get the opportunity to press her, talk less of dating or sleeping with her. Is that life?

At least the beggars you see on the roadside are visibly lacking the amenities and privileges that the rest of us enjoy. They are homeless, broke, don't have any clothes etc. Some of them look so wretched, you can't differentiate them from the ones roaming mad on the street.

But what about the beggars online? You'll see them lying down on soft squishy foam mattresses, in proper climate-controlled rooms, often in pajamas or something fanciful enough to turn your watery brain upside down, getting paid to occasionally mumble "thanks for joining my stream" effortlessly, while eating or watching TV. And you lay there on your smelling foam wey no get bedsheet. You are owing landlord. You are owing Fairmoney. NEPA don disconnect you 7 months ago, you dey go connect yourself back for midnight. You were supposed to be reading for JAMB, you were busy saying sweet nothings to a girl online that doesn't even know what you look like. Now you scored 23 in JAMB and the chicken has come home to roost.

Even if you have money sef, wetin you gain? The point of spending money on something is that you can get something in return. What are you getting from these hoes? Is it the companionship? Is it discussion? Are they therapists? Are you that lonely, that you have to pay for people to talk to you?

Your loneliness is what is feeding these online beggars. You think they give a damn about you? You're paying for an imaginary friend or girlfriend, but this imaginary girlfriend has a dude living there with giving her daily pipe for free and 2.7 million other imaginary friendships to maintain. Your village people are using your destiny to play ten ten and you don't know.

Help yourself! If you don't help yourself, nobody will help you!
