Just when he needs to show some strength of character. It's never easy though but there's much gain if he stays through. God elbows the proud and exalts (gives Grace to) the humble.

Just imagine they were successful in the act, some naive person would want to fight God for not having what they have (that wasn't just stolen but with the termination of another's life).
