Hi my name is Goldenkid and I make full time income doing affiliate marketing

I'm sure you've heard a lot of good and bad things about affiliate marketing

Some people say it's the easiest way to make money online. Some say it's a scam

Some say it's doesn't work in Nigeria and so on

And if you're just hearing about affiliate marketing for the first time, no problem

In this post, I'll explain what affiliate marketing really is and even how you can get started with it

But before I start, I want you to know that affiliate marketing is a legit business that can make you a lot of money

Currently, it is worth $12billion so that should tell you there's a lot of money to be made there

Now, this business works for anybody.

It doesn't matter if:

-You work at job and needs an extra source of income
-You're a student like me and wants to make more money to take care of yourself

So basically, affiliate marketing is a business model where you(an affiliate marketer) can earn a commission for marketing someone else's products or service

The affiliate marketer searches for a great product they enjoy and then promotes that product or service to earn a small part of the profit from each sale

Let me explain using real life examples...

For example, let's say I have an uncle that has a car that he wants to sell for one million naira

And then he meets me and tells me that 'Goldenkid, what's up I have this car valued at a million naira and I'd like to sell it. Can you help me get a buyer?'

And I'm like, sure I have a friend whose name is Uthman that wants to buy a car 

So what I do is I then link Uthwan who wants to buy a car to my uncle who has a car to sell 

Now Uthman buys the car for 1 million naira then my uncle gives me a commission of maybe 20%

That 20% is more of a thank you for
bringing business to me. 

As in thank you for bringing a customer to buy my car 

So now 20 percent of 1 million naira that is a sum of 200,000 naira

That's for selling just one car… so you earn a commission for selling just that one car 

It's not your car, you don't own the car at all.

You may not even see the car. Your work is just to bring a customer to the person who is selling that car and then earn a commission 

Now imagine if you're able to sell five cars.. that's a million naira commission for you

Another example is people who sell plots of land

So this person says the land goes for five million naira and if you're able to bring a buyer for that plot of land,

You'll get a 10% commission on that plot of land so you then go out to find a buyer for this land and you eventually see one of your friends who wants to buy a plot of land...

You then connect your friend who wants to buy that land to the person who is selling the plot of land

And you then earn a 10% commission on that as well

So you 10% of 5m naira which is 500k

Affiliate Marketing is simple but many Nigerians just like to complicate things for themselves

All you need to do is just to simply link a buyer with a seller and then you earn your commission. It's just that simple

There's no too much work involved

It's simply connecting buyers, connecting
sellers and then you get a commission

But this is not the kind of affiliate marketing I do that makes me money

The one I do involves selling digital products

Digital products are products in electronic form. They are not physical products. Examples of digital products include: courses, ebooks, softwares, etc

I don't want this post to be too long and boring

So I'm going to post another article later

I'll explain to you how you can find these digital products and how to sell them so that you can make money

But I hope this post was helpful and you now have a basic understanding of how affiliate marketing works
