Experiencing total blackout because of the rain in Lagos this morning. Wonder if anyone in Lagos is having similar experiences.

I experienced it too for the first time. I rebooted starlink and it reconnected.

It is more than a month bro , I did not pay for close to three months
That means they don't really follow what is shown on the bill

Thanks bro , I swear, it is worth every penny . And the fact that, they can even give you up to three or four months grace , if things are rough for you to source for funds , it’s a no brainner 😊😊😊

Actually, at the bottom of the invoice, it is said to be about a month before service is suspended if payment has not been made.

Pls, guys. For someone living on the ground floor of a three storey rented building that can't have access to the roof, what position is advisable for mounting?
You can position your dish on a place where it can get a clear view of the north axis while pointing to a clear view of the sky.

Finally at the fast side of life. I paid 525k for this thing on Konga since Nigerian cards decided they won't work.

Please what location and plan are you on?

I just got mine from konga. I successfully activated it, paid 38k for residential plan, only to get an “unexpected location” error. Abeg how can I overcome this? It was delivered to me in Benin.
Have you tried updating your service location to your current location?

yes i have something even cheaper, made with JK Bluetooth bms and JK 3.2inch display, real capacity 7.168kwh
Interesting. What about the efficiency? Does it give close to 7.1kwh? That is what made me to just buy bluetti, because I will be sure of the capacity. I have a locally made power station but I don't even get half of the rated capacity.

Oh that's nice then. So I saw 450k+ as the final charge, is that the exact amount that'll be taken from my account or it'll be 450k+ / current USD rate?
You will be charged the naira amount you see on starlink website not any usd rate

I have read on this thread that it take weeks to deliver from starlink.com and in addition, I don't only have Kuda, OPAY and GEEGPAY as my Bank. So I don't know if cards from these Fintech can be able to institute payment.
It takes less than a week

ok..

i tried something during activation.. in my place of resident, if i use my kit no with my address in my neighourbood i would only see the 50k plan. but if i choose my state the residential plan will come out.. for example my street is

giwa-amu road, warri, Delta, nigeria... this will give me 50k plan

if i choose Delta state, Nigeria... i would end up with the 38k residential plan

what are your opinions guys
Maybe choose your state and activate residential. After activating residential, change the address after some time to your location. You should still be on residential plan after changing it.

The 50k plan is still unlimited. The 40gb is just priority data. You can also check a close available location within 25km your location.

Got bluegate when I first bought my Starlink, it was almost N100k forgotten the capacity, I also needed something to hold the Starlink for no more than 30mins, the problem is that the bluegate life depletes with time, and a time will come when you would need more than 30mins. Eventually got a EcoFlow power station for N520k, 720W capacity, takes less than 1hour to charge to 100% and keeps the starlink powered for up to 12 hours. I actually contacted the manufacturer and was told I could use it like a UPS, so now I leave the starlink permanently plugged to the power station, and the power station plugged to a wall socket.

Please where did you buy your ecoflow from?

any solution to this
No plans on the list like residential or roam. Can you send a screenshot of the list of plans you are seeing?
Phones / Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by GoodBoi1(m): 2:50pm On Jul 18
On starlink website, roam plan is no longer available in nigeria. Residential and business(fixed site) plan are available. Business plan includes unlimited standard data with Unlimited Standard Data, Public IP, Network Priority and Priority Support. I guess this means the business plan is better than residential.

Please when returning starlink kit for replacement, should I return it to dhl office or will they come to my location to pick up the old starlink kit? Also when the new kit arrives, will my current residential plan and service location automatically transfer to the new kit?

Wow, mine was restricted until I changed the Service Address. I advise you to do that though.

So which location did you use when you shipped it, it was inconceivable for us to pin a good distance for you as nearest available location was about 35kms away to you

And share your obstruction and speed tests with us

I used a location in Lusada - Igbesa Rd, Ado Odo/Ota 100001, Ogun State. In order to get the location, I had to compare the starlink coverage maps with google maps. From my location I measured about 24km radius to closest available area in Ogun state which was in Lusada on google maps. I checked several locations there on starlink map and they were available. For now I just placed starlink on my verandah, the speeds are okay for 4k videos. Highest speed I saw was around 220 mbps. The speed fluctuates but overall it is okay since it is unlimited compared to MTN. I have changed my location to my current coordinates. I hope the preview invoice for next monthwill not change. Is your next month preview invoice still saying 38k? I saw that the invoice updates everyday.

Yes, they do.

You might even get it tomorrow.
Yippee!!! I have received the starlink and activated it. I used an available service location about 23-24km from my shipping address since my location is "Expanding in 2025" on starlink website. It took close to one hour to connect, might be weather, and the app did not ask me to change my service location or show restricted mode. Now I am on residential plan, 38k has been deducted from my account. Thanks for the tip : smiley smiley smiley

Canceled my deposit and reordered starlink. It has already been shipped so soon. From the dhl information it seems the package is coming from Lagos, maybe they have a warehouse in Lagos, even though I ordered on starlink website and the kit info is already showing on the dashboard. From the look of things, the kit will arrive this week.

Yes, it didn't connect to Satellites for quite a while but then I updated my service address and it went into Restricted mode.

20mins later it went online and I was billed 38k for Residential.

As I didn't prepare to receive the shipment within 4days, I had to put it on the roof of a shed where there is lot of obstructions. Highest speed I got was 63mps down and 23mps up which is quite good.

When I move it higher I will post screenshots.
I am trying to understand. Did you update the service address to lotto bus stop and then it worked?

Thanks I will go for the delta 2 ecoflow it's about 700k, use it as ups for the starlink, maybe when I'm going out for like an hour or 2, the ecoflow will power it till I get back. Most people will leave their solar on but this is just me I dont like the idea if leaving my solar on when I'm not in the house.

All my CCtv use a separate solar, they came will small panels

Even my electricity fence have a separate solar, it's always on standby

And I use a solar water pumping machine, I got it for about 550k and two separate panels, so it works on its own it doesn't depend on the main house solar system

When there is no water it's automatically pump the water and stop when the water reaches the sensor level

Does the ecoflow have warranty?

So I deposited 32k for starlink residential plan since it is not available at my location. I am considering switching and buying hardware for the roaming plan but I want to know if I can switch to residential with the same hardware when it is available. Also, for anyone on roam plan, what is the max speed you get?

Personally, I think tithing as done in today's church is optional. If you insist on paying tithe, since you are in the diaspora, can't your employer deduct tithe from your tax as charity donations and send it to your church?
