[quote author=LegendHero post=140596360] Obi’s message raises an important question about leadership: why should Nigerians have to leave their own country to feel safe, relax or enjoy a holiday?

His argument is that Nigeria should be made secure enough for people to comfortably spend their holidays in Kano, Sokoto, Katsina, Bauchi, Cross River and other parts of our beautiful country.

A safer Nigeria would not only protect lives—it would strengthen tourism, businesses and local communities. Nigeria should become a country Nigerians are proud and comfortable to enjoy.

Politics › NEVER AGAIN! Do Not Surrender Four Years In One Day by goodlyfa(op): 11:30am On Sep 05
There comes a moment when a people must decide whether fear will continue to govern them.

Election Day is one such moment.

For too long, many citizens have been told to vote and quietly go home, even when intimidation, disruption and violence threaten the process. But citizenship cannot mean casting a ballot and becoming indifferent to what happens afterward.

Nigeria has experienced real electoral violence. Voters have been threatened. Polling places have been disrupted. Citizens have been attacked. These are not imaginary concerns.

And this is precisely why citizens must refuse to surrender their country to fear.

Do not surrender four years because somebody frightened you for one day.

The people who want citizens to disappear from polling units understand something important: fear is politically useful.

If ten people are intimidated and everyone else runs away, intimidation has succeeded.

If violence in one location frightens an entire community into abandoning participation, those responsible have achieved far more than the immediate attack.

That cycle must be broken.

But courage must not become recklessness.

Protecting democracy does not mean becoming another thug. It does not mean carrying weapons, attacking opponents or throwing away your life in a confrontation that may leave families mourning while powerful politicians remain safely elsewhere.

It means something more difficult:

Refusing to be intimidated while remaining disciplined.

Come out.

Vote.

Know the electoral procedures.

Know your polling unit.

Work with accredited observers.

Keep lawful records of events around you.

Where permitted, document irregularities carefully.

Report threats and violations immediately through legitimate channels.

Stay connected with your community.

Do not allow isolated citizens to face intimidation alone.

Let lawyers, journalists, civil-society organizations, election observers and communities know what is happening.

Make wrongdoing visible.

Make intimidation expensive politically, legally and publicly.

And above everything, refuse to become silent.

Because bad leadership does not end on Election Day.

Its consequences enter our homes.

They appear in the price of food.

They appear when graduates cannot find work.

They appear when businesses collapse under impossible conditions.

They appear when roads become death traps.

They appear when hospitals fail families.

They appear when insecurity drives people from their communities.

They appear when corruption becomes more powerful than competence.

They appear when citizens begin believing that nothing can ever change.

That is why a few hours on Election Day cannot be compared with four years of consequences.

Sacrifice the convenience of the day. Do not surrender the future of the country.

Take food if necessary.

Take water.

Prepare for delays.

Help elderly voters.

Encourage frightened neighbours.

Know emergency contacts.

Know the official channels for reporting electoral offences.

Stand together peacefully and visibly.

If a polling unit is disrupted, document what happened and make sure the incident does not disappear into silence.

If somebody attempts intimidation, do not turn yourselves into a mob. Create witnesses.

A thug wants darkness.

Expose him to daylight.

Those abusing power often depend upon frightened people believing that resistance is impossible.

The most dangerous citizens to an unjust system are therefore not necessarily those carrying weapons.

They are citizens who cannot be bought.

Citizens who cannot easily be frightened.

Citizens who understand the law.

Citizens who document evidence.

Citizens who organize.

Citizens who remember.

Citizens who continue demanding accountability after the election is finished.

Nigeria does not need another generation of ordinary people dying while powerful men watch from protected houses.

Nigeria needs millions of citizens who are courageous enough to stand their ground democratically and disciplined enough not to be manipulated into destroying one another.

Let nobody deceive you into believing that peace means surrender.

Peace without courage becomes submission.

But courage without discipline can become destruction.

We need both courage and discipline.

Election Day belongs to the citizen.

The ballot belongs to the citizen.

The country belongs to its people.

So when that day comes, do not casually surrender your voice because participation is uncomfortable.

Remember what is at stake.

**One difficult day can influence four years of national life.**

Give the day your time.

Give it your patience.

Give it your courage.

Give it your vigilance.

But do not give political thugs your life.

Stand together.

Document everything.

Expose wrongdoing.

Demand accountability.

And refuse to surrender Nigeria to fear.

Nigeria’s problem is not just the leaders—it’s also the attitude of the people. On election day, many stay at home saying “my vote doesn’t count.” But out of about 98 million registered voters, only around 23 million showed up in the last election. Then we turn around and complain about bad governance. If you didn’t vote, you gave up your voice. This time, come out, vote, and do it peacefully.
Not just voting but protecting your vote. It is better to sacrifice that whole day than to be used as sacrifice for 4 years

Tinubu is actulally smart. He knew he already has Osun APC on his side. Forcing APC win in Osun does not make any change. So, he decided to let Adeleke win so as to add him to his side, plus the existing Osun APC. Tinubu is actually smart but his smartness is not beneficial to the common man. Life is becoming tougher than before. People's purchasing powers keep dropping. We need a better person to handle Nigeria and only Peter Obi or Donald Duke is the best option so far. But Donald duke is not having the edge Obi has, so let's just support Peter Obi for the future of our unborn children. As it is going like this, no hope for common man.

Politics › Re: Obi Staying In The Bush For 2 Day, What Should Happen To Other Responsibilities? by goodlyfa: 10:20am On Aug 01
helinues:
Is there any logical sense on Obi's statement about staying inside the bush for 2 days. Was he elected as a vigilante or as a president?

How much more reckless statement would make for his supporters like you to see that the person you are following is empty
You keep repeating “inside the bush for two days” because exaggeration is the only way your argument can survive.

Nobody said the President would become a vigilante, carry a dane gun and start chasing kidnappers between trees. The statement simply means the President would be physically present, personally supervising the response and refusing to treat kidnapped children as an ordinary news item.

Was George Bush elected as a firefighter when he visited Ground Zero? Are presidents elected as soldiers whenever they visit troops during a military operation? Is a governor elected as a doctor when he visits victims in a hospital?

Physical presence during a national emergency is called leadership, not a change of profession.

You previously argued that the NSA, COAS and IGP should handle security because responsibilities are delegated. Correct. In the same way, ministers and other officials would continue handling finance, education, health and agriculture while the President focuses temporarily on an urgent national crisis. That is exactly how government works.

Your argument assumes that once the President leaves his office, every ministry shuts down and Nigeria stops functioning. That is not political intelligence; it is the understanding of someone who thinks the Federal Government operates like a one-man kiosk.

You may dislike Obi, but calling him “empty” does not fill the obvious holes in your argument. A leader saying, “I will be there until these children are rescued,” shows urgency and accountability. Turning that into “he wants to become a vigilante” is not logic—it is childish literalism dressed up as analysis.

By the way, I am not a supporter of Obi because he is not deserved by Nigeria. I am only against your illogical reasoning. I am a supporter of let everyone go cos the relationship is benefiting only foreign countries and a few individuals who deliberately reason with their anus.
Politics › Re: Obi Staying In The Bush For 2 Day, What Should Happen To Other Responsibilities? by goodlyfa: 12:39am On Aug 01
Your argument defeats itself.

You said Obi should leave the rescue operation to the security officials because they have been assigned that responsibility. Fine. By that same logic, while the President is personally supervising an urgent rescue effort, the ministers, advisers, permanent secretaries and other officials assigned to education, health, agriculture, finance and other sectors will continue handling those responsibilities.

Or do you think the entire Nigerian government stops functioning whenever the President leaves his office?

The President is the Commander-in-Chief. When schoolchildren are kidnapped, going to the operational area does not mean he will carry a rifle and start searching tree by tree. It means he is treating the emergency as a national priority, receiving direct briefings, coordinating the agencies, removing obstacles and demanding immediate results.

The NSA, COAS and IGP would still do their jobs, just as ministers responsible for other sectors would continue doing theirs. That is how delegation works.

So, in trying to make Obi look incompetent, you have only exposed your own childish understanding of government. You imagine the Presidency as a one-man roadside shop where everything closes once the owner steps outside.

The real question should be why a President would remain comfortably in Abuja while kidnapped children and their terrified parents are left waiting for weeks.

Obi’s statement was about leadership, urgency and personal responsibility. Your response is merely a desperate attempt to turn concern for kidnapped children into a political weakness.
Politics › NIGERIA'S BAD LEADERSHIP: Battling Poverty While Clamping Down On Prosperity by goodlyfa(op): 3:57pm On Oct 13, 2023
The fact that Nigeria is the world capital of poverty, and yet is also one of the most difficult places on earth to send money to (due to its own internal policy and laws) is not by accident.

Those in charge of Nigeria can only maintain their stranglehold by staying directly in control of who is able to access wealth and information. Wealth comes with power. Information comes with heightened expectations and ability to change things. If they allow Nigeria's economy to open up like the Chinese in 1979, they will lose all the power they have within a decade or less.

That's why they make sure Nigeria is one of the most difficult places on earth to do business legally, innovate legally, import and repatriate capital legally, or even travel legally. Have you ever heard of a country with 200 million people without A SINGLE successful homegrown technology or innovation to its name in 50+ years? Have you heard of such a country, which is also in the top 4 globally for annual conflict death, making the restriction of social media and Internet freedoms its main priority?

None of that is by accident.

It's not by accident that despite signing up to ACTA and having a huge land trade surplus, the same people execute border closures that only impoverish everyone on both sides of the border and worsen consumer inflation. It's not by mistake that after seeing Information Technology go from 0% to 18.4% of GDP in 24 years, they are determined to destroy that sector with overregulation and punitive taxation. Poverty and ignorance are blunt-force tools deliberately wielded by African governments to maintain control and dominance. They need you poor and in the dark.

That's why their reflexive and INSTANT reaction to anything that creates wealth or enlightenment for the middle and lower classes is a ban. When @GazetteNGR came into existence and shook up Nigerian mainstream journalism in 2020, what did they do? Check the Gazette's pinned tweet for the answer to that. Instead of building more roads to create more economic opportunities around the country, they're rather making it a Herculean task to legally buy and own a vehicle. Instead of leveraging the huge population as an opportunity for cheap outsourcing and tech jobs, they're rather making it more difficult to important phones and computers, and profiling any young man with a laptop as an "Internet fraudster." Online freelancing/remote work? Yahoo boy. Cryptocurrency/Web3? Ban.

So in case any idiots reading this think that giving the Nigerian government the power to police what information people can access or how they can communicate on the Internet is a good idea because it favours Bola Tinubu's doomed attempt to hold on to a position that is not his, these idiots should know that they are not the elites holding the fork - they are in fact, the meat on the fork.

The ultimate dream of the people in power in Nigeria is not to be the trillionaire leaders of comfortable middle class people. It is to be the millionaire rulers of hopeless destitutes. There is meant to be an everlasting underclass and a small class of landlords. If you are not one of the rulers already, you will never be.

If you give these bastards the power to impoverish you further and remove the possibility of light in your future by restricting Nigeria's Internet, because you think one Bola fucking Tinubu is your party member or your Yoruba brother, well...

The lesson will be learnt at leisure.

Christianity Etc › Cursed Twins Receive 5-year US Visas Instead Of 2-week After Ebuka’s Prophecy by goodlyfa(op): 10:29pm On Aug 09, 2023
Our names are Obumneme Daniel Nweke and Obiora Samuel Nweke. We are from Idenmili South Local government in Anambra state. Most of you must have seen the day our daddy Ebuka prophecied about me and my twin brother.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bx2VJtv-5c

The prophecy:
There are twins here. Two of you slept with one girl and someone later married her. This prophecy is dirty. There are twins here, two of them made love with one girl and a course is following them. Chai! “nyama nyama dey smell”. There is a particular girl two of you used to take turns to make love with. That girl was taking both of your destinies. And this girl did not know she was having an affair with the two twins since they are identical. She could not identify the particular one she was dating and when this one comes, she opens legs for him and when the other one came she opens legs for him. This affair lasted for years and the girl later found out and she went somewhere to do sacrifice against you two because you two deceived her. You need liberation and you will apologize to her. You will look for her and apologize for her. You have beautiful destinies but they are crippled. By now, the two of you are supposed to be at the top because favor comes but it gets scattered. The girl placed her hand on her private part and cursed two of you because two of you deceived that girl. She thought she was doing something with one person.
It was terrible. After the prophecy, Daddy Ebuka gave us prayers and instructed us to do the prayers exactly as directed and we assured him we must do it. We started doing the prayers. He gave us 30 days of fasting and prayers. This was during the Christmas period and you know how that period normally is, the celebrations, wining, and dining. But we left everything and we did the prayers as instructed.

So, during that December period, our agent called us and told us that he has found an appointment date for our interview with the American embassy and we said no issues, we are hoping on God. The interview date was on the 18th of April. We traveled to Lagos before that day and the night before the interview, we came to the altar on Zion ground, knelt down, and submitted our passports on the altar. We told God that we were about to go to the American embassy the following day. We said, “God. We did the prayers very well and Daddy Ebuka told us that we will come back for testimony. Please, we want to come here to testify. Please, God”. And as we were praying here on the altar, we noticed that somebody came in between us while we were kneeling down praying. W noticed that somebody came and took something from the ground. We opened our eyes but we couldn’t see anybody. When we were going back to the hotel we were lodged in, we discussed the observation on the altar and we concluded that should be the holy spirit who came down then and we believed that our visas have been confirmed. There is power here.

The following day, we went to the embassy. We met with the agent in his office and the agent was saying we should pray that our visa be approved. We told him they would give us the visa. He said its not if you want they will give you oo. American visa is not if you want they will give you oo. We replied to him, they would give us visas. We told him we are Zionites, and for that reason, they would give us visas. So, we went to the embassy and everybody inside there were all smiling. The first question was, “What are you going to do in America?” We told him it was a carnival. Twins carnival. She was a black American lady. She asked us again, “How long do you want to stay over there? We looked at each other and said ok, we wanted to stay for two weeks over there. She said ok.

To cut the story, she told us that our visas have been approved. And when we went to Enugu to get our passports, we found out they gave us five years' visa each. Zion! We move. Glory be to God.
