If You No Wan Do Yahoo, Wetin You Wan Do? 😂 Make we talk true for this country abeg. 😭😂 Imagine say you never gain admission, or you just enter 200 level. Your parents still dey send you transport money, your allowance no dey reach middle of the month, but you don already dey think about how to make your own money. You open job websites, na "minimum of 2 years experience" you dey see. Oga, I never even finish school. Which experience you want make I bring? Experience from secondary school inter-house sport? 😭😂 You check another vacancy, dem say bachelor's degree required. You never even see your matric number finish! Sometimes, e be like say this country wants you to have 10 years of experience before you even get your first job. 😂 Na so some young people begin look for shortcuts. Everybody wants to hammer, everybody wants to cash out, and nobody wants to hear story of patience again. 😂 But make I ask una something. Must person really wait until graduation before starting to build a career? Can't an undergraduate learn something useful, gain practical experience, or explore internship opportunities while still in school? I feel say one mistake wey plenty of us dey make na to believe say life starts after graduation. You fit dey 100 level today, but that no mean say you no fit start learning how your industry works. You fit dey wait for admission, but that waiting period no mean say you must put every other thing on hold. Even if na small experience you gather now, e fit help you understand the kind of work you want to do later. And no, I'm not saying make everybody abandon school and start chasing money. 😂 Face your education, but if you get time, why not build yourself too? I recently came across Remote Hustle, which offers internship opportunities where people can learn on the job. I think opportunities like that are worth exploring, especially for young people who want to start gaining experience before graduation. If you want to check it out, here's the registration link: https://remotehustle.plug99.com.ng/registration-form/ Access code: CHT3074 But honestly, forget Remote Hustle for a minute. I want to hear from the house. 1. If you're an undergraduate, have you started thinking about your career, or na after graduation you wan face am? 2. For those who have graduated, do you think gaining experience before graduation would have made a difference for you? 3. And for those still waiting for admission, what are you doing with your time while waiting? Make we hear real experiences. No packaging. 😂 |

# After NYSC, What's Next? Let’s be honest, guys. 😂 For many of us, NYSC is almost over, and the big question is: WHAT NEXT? You’ve spent one year serving your country. You’ve attended CDS, cleared your monthly allowance, taken pictures in your uniform, made friends, and probably complained about your PPA more times than you can count. 😂 Now, POP is approaching, and everybody is asking the same questions: “Have you gotten a job?” “What are your plans after service?” “Are you going for your master's?” And you’re just there thinking, *Oga, please let me collect my certificate first!* 😭😂 But jokes apart, life after NYSC can be a little confusing, especially when you don't have a job waiting for you. Some people are lucky enough to get retained by their PPAs. Some already have jobs lined up. Others are preparing for further studies or trying to start a business. Then there are those of us still updating our CVs, applying for jobs, checking LinkedIn every morning, and hoping that one of these applications will finally bring good news. 😂 If you're in this category, you're not alone. One thing I've come to realize is that getting your degree and completing NYSC are important milestones, but they don't automatically guarantee employment. Sometimes, you need to build additional skills, meet the right people, gain experience, and explore opportunities beyond what you studied in school. Remote work, digital skills, internships, graduate trainee programmes, and entry-level opportunities are some options worth exploring while figuring things out. You don't have to have your entire life planned out immediately after NYSC. But having a direction and taking small, consistent steps can make a difference. So, I'd genuinely like to hear from people who have gone through this stage and those who are about to. Let's discuss: 1. For those who have completed NYSC, how was life immediately after service? 2. Did you get a job quickly, or did it take months before things started working out? 3. For corps members preparing for POP, what are your plans? 4. Are you considering remote jobs, learning digital skills, starting a business, or going back to school? 5. What advice would you give someone who is about to leave NYSC and doesn't know where to start? Please share your honest experiences. No packaging, no forming. 😂 Someone reading this thread might need the advice you have to offer. After NYSC, what's next for you? Let's talk! 👇
