please please and please, nairaland, try and verify what people post here. it doesn't do your credibility any good if anybody can just come and post fake news here and it gets pushed to the front page.
there are a lot of lazy and gullible Nigerians who swallow everything they read without bothering to do any form of verification. this post is totally false and wrong and calculated to misinform and misguide the public.
please nairaland don't be a medium for peddling falsehood, don't be a tool for promotion of political propaganda.

a little verification is all we are asking.
don't allow people to use this medium to deceive others.
Celebrities / Re: Joey Barton Calls Wizkid’s "Ojuelegba" Crap, Nigerians React, Blast Him by gorzy(m): 7:45am On Oct 31, 2017
is the song nice? yes, its a jam of life!
is wizkid good? yes, probably a legend!
was the song 'appropriate' for a ring walk I don't really think so. I like what AJ did there, trying to promote a bro (wizkid) while also repping his country (Nigeria). it is quite commendable. I understand why he chose the song, perhaps it tells his story, how he started from scratch to get to where he is today. however, on a personal note, I think the song was not 'the best' for a ring walk that is because when you consider what boxing is all about (hype, power, strength, hardcore etc), then you'd think of the song as 'too soft'. I personally feel that if he just wanted to use wizkid's song, a track like "back to the matter" would have been more fitting.
However, it's his choice in the end, whatever song he decides to use is nobody's business, and we have to respect that.

Crime / Re: The 14-Year-Old Girl Who Was Raped By Policeman In Anambra (Photos) by gorzy(m): 3:21pm On Oct 29, 2017
why would anybody even publish her pictures...in cases like these the protection of the victim's identity is paramount. The sole aim is to prevent stigmatization of the victim, to afford the victim the opportunity to live a normal life and to rehabilitate quickly and have equal opportunities with other children. in as much as we are in the 'social media' age, we should not be insensitive to some social issues..lets not be driven solely by the desire to make news and front page. thanks.

Why will it fail please?
Thanks

in defamation, three vital elements have to be present.
1. there words complained about must be defamatory
2. they (the words) must refer to the complainant
3. they must have been published

Now where this case will fail is under the first and second requirements,..mere insult (which is the closest interpretation of the tweet) is not defamation and can never be. Also, the words complained of must be proved to lower the estimation of the complainant in the eyes of right thinking persons in the society words in that tweet do not qualify under both arms.
Romance / Re: Will Female Romancelanders Honestly Make Good Wives & Mothers? by gorzy(m): 11:11am On Oct 18, 2017
I fault your analysis and conclusion. I think it's unfair to single out women/ ladies and pass judgment on them. having said that, I disagree with your point of view for the following. firstly, those women met the guys here online, the discussions about sex are done with men and not in isolation and I don't see how talking about sex can make someone a good or bad wife, if not for anything, such discussions educate them and prepare them for marriage, if it is bad for women to discuss such topics then invariably, (using your logic), the men won't make good husbands too because they also "gratify themselves" here (although I don't even know how sexual gratification is possible on nairaland). I also wish to point to the fact that everyone can chose what they want to do with their spare time, you can chose to watch movies or read novels, they have chosen to use theirs on nairaland, I don't see how that will affect a marriage or prevent someone from making a good wife. Men also post trash here, does that mean they will make bad husbands?? ..finally, does beauty (physical appearance) matter over character in marriage?? are you implying that someone that you don't find attractive physically (because of your own definition of beauty) will not make a good wife for someone else??... that is poor thinking and judgment. don't try to shame people for their physical appearance, it's something they can't change, they didn't make themselves that way, I'm sure someone like you is the reason people attempt plastic surgery to change their looks and resort to bleaching etc.
in the final analysis, I think your post is either an attempt at attention seeking by trying to Shame women or a very poor attempt at gratifying profanity hence your use of obscene words like (p***y, prostitution, a** etc).

You know nothing.
If anyone photoshopped anything, let Okorocha file a libel case against him.
Until then Okorocha is a bloody liar.

even though I don't agree with Rochas, you need to know that there are a lot of conditions that have to be fulfilled for one to succeed in a libel(defamation) suit and in the current case, claim of libel will certainly fail

I don't know why you are bitter. nobody goes Garvin life by hating on others.. . who would sell the product more than him, a celebrity. you have not seen Ronaldo advertising his cr7 perfume?? or Ibrahimovic his clothing line or even dbanj advertising his Koko garri? ...... a wise man said... it is better to keep quiet and be thought wise than to speak and clear all doubts. Nigerians are always too quick to display ignorance. must we turn everything into a tribal war?? please think before you post.

another important thin people fail to do is to network and build contacts..as a young professional, most of your first jobs and contracts will come from friends and referrals.
university is a perfect opportunity to build lasting friendships and business relationships.

...............................................................................................

This house was built and financed by NBA and not Wike, so stop salivating on lies. It's normal for a governor to come and commission privately owned project(s) in his state. Besides, don't think this house could have been built under 17 months.
It took less than 17 months to build...and it was built from scratch, I know when it started, just about two months before the NBA conference...get your facts straight!
