Obi's idea of local production is to set up a brewery factory and open a NEXT supermarket where virtually all its goods are imported.

Bringing trading mentality into an economic discussion will always expose the shallow mindset of a typical SE
Thats why we voted a better tinubu who built Lagos, Chicago, Paris and London but unfortunately, he took over building materials finished

Well, still waiting on Dangote.

But the government should know that dangote won't sell cheap. So, do they have adequate socio-economic policies in place to not only cushion the effect for the masses, but also place the country on an upward trajectory?

Yes they do. The ZOO has been built like he built Lagos, Paris and London

And finally, efcc emphasized that, even though it's a crime what the teen did, he also see advantages (ingenuity) in it,..... for a 17 years, who is study non science course could be IT genus.

Mr crictic didn't mention that, but to always bring negative out, from every situation.

Travel / Re: The Causes Of The Enugu And Kogi Road Accidents - FRSC by goshee: 11:46am On May 02
seunmsg:
But the sore election loser called Peter Obi without any credible information attributed the accidents to bad roads and insecurity. As in, a former governor without knowing the actual cause of the accidents rushed to Twitter to claim falsely that the accidents were caused by bad roads and insecurity while in reality, the accidents were cause by reckless driving.

So, is this the kind of guy that we should elect as president? A guy who lie so shamelessly without shame? As in, why will anyone want to make political profit from such an unfortunate accidents? Is there no limit again to what can be politicized again in this country? Are there no sensible elders again in SE that can call Peter Obi to order before he finally goes fully unhinged?

In the first republic, Nnamdi Azikiwe build his political career on opposing everything Awolowo did. Once Awolowo take a position, Zik takes the exact opposite position. He opposed free education because Awo introduced free education. He opposed free health care because Awolowo supported free healthcare. He opposed secession clause in the constitution because Awo supported it. He opposed independence in 1956 because Awo supported it. Over 60 years later, Peter Obi is treading the same path by opposing everything President Bola Tinubu is doing. He was quiet all through the Buhari administration but has been tweeting lies and propaganda against President Tinubu since 2023. Why exactly do Igbos hate Yorubas so much?

Earthstorms:

You guys amaze me.

You are asking what Tinubu achieved with the naira devaluation. Don't you really know that the FG is making massive gains by the naira devaluation?

Let me explain.
1st once there is loser in any policy, know that there is a winner.

The devaluation negatively affected those who earn in naira and have expenses in foreign currency. The food industries like Dangote sugar that import sugar from foreign countries in dollars and sell locally in Naira are at the receiving end of the naira devaluation.

Those who earn in foreign currency and spend in naira gained greatly from the naira devaluation. That is where the gains of the FG comes in. They sell crude oil in dollars and pay workers salaries and contracts execution in naira.

When dollar was 460 naira to a dollar, export of 1 million dollar worth of crude oil will give the FG 460 million naira when the dollars is sold to Nigerians. That same 1 million dollars worth of crude oil will give the FG 1.4 billion naira after the naira has been devalued to 1400 naira to 1 dollar.

So the FG is getting almost 3 times the naira it used to get from the same volume of crude oil after the naira devaluation. So the FG is gaining massively from the naira devaluation while those who use imported goods and services are losing money because of the naira devaluation.
I am not interested in that long crap written over there. How doe the explanation you made better the lives of people on the street of Nigeria? Did it reduce food price, increase purchasing power, improve standard of living? Answer those questions please

We have 20% stakes in his refinery, made cheaper loans to him and supplied crude oil in naira. Dangote appreciates the gesture and we appreciate him bringing down diesel price. Dangote collected dollars at cheaper rates from Emefiele, we know all that but Dangote is still doing big things and we appreciate him for that and that's why he was appointed a member of Jagaban's economic team. However, every sensible individual knows we can't afford to keep official rate at 460 while parrallel rate at 780 with huge monthly subsidy, thereby making few unscrupulous elements overnight billionaires through dollar arbitrage at a time 97% of our revenue were used in servicing debts. Definately, we can't continue like that.
Stop this long grammar, give us good governance. Reduce the price of fuel, electricity, good stuff and other life helping things. I no study economics. Peter Obi is a tribalist and has always been right from his time in Anambra as governor.

1. If he is not dividing his fellow ibos like the way he deported Ebonyi people from Anambra in 2011 or did not allow non-anambrans to contest in any election even for leadership of market positions,

2. And if he can't divide within the Ibo clans, he would pitch them against other tribes like he tagged Ngige a Yoruba candidate during the governorship election,

3. and if he can't find a way to alot in tribalism, he would divide people along religious lines like the Anglican vs Catholic fight he created in Anambra.

Nigeria's best economy was when a certain detribalized president assembled the best economic team which happened to be people from a region of the country but because of the pride of our sophisticated morons, they wouldn't look elsewhere to salvage the nation. They rather allow the nation to fall inside well instead of hiring people from the rejected region to save the nation. That's how selfish they are.

Look at this comparison

It was Gbaja and some campaign members that pleaded on behalf of this Bayo before BAT finally accepted to give him something. Yet, he has been proving BAT right for knowing his kind of person. Where is FFK? BAT wouldn't bring that one on board. He would bring serious disrepute to the presidency.
BAT is incompetent, and encircled himself with sets of incompetent people. The only performing appointment of BAT happens to be from the same rejected tribe again. When will the ZOO learn? Umahi, hardly talks. He does the talking on the field.
