franchasofficia: It may sound like a joke to you since you aren't Igbo.
An Igbo elite analyzed this on a national dailies some weeks back, he narrated how the British colonial masters built the Nigerian system to favor Hausas more because they had a simplified, central governing system through the Emirs, and the Yorubas had the Obas while the Igbos had no centralized leadership to make it easier for the British colonial masters to govern Easterners.....who operated family and clan type of leadership unlike the Hausas and the Yorubas. That was why despite Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe being the most learned and the closest to the colonial masters, whose father also worked as the interpreter of the colonial masters was schemed out of federal power and made Governor General while Prime Minister Belewa commanded more power but under the colonial masters, Governor General had the greatest power but as they handed over to Nigerians, they schemed Zik out and made sure power remained in the hands of Hausas whom they believed would be more loyal to them after they are gone.
Fast-forward to after the civil war in 1970, the Hausa-Fulanis that took over control of the Nigerian government and military, made sure Igbos were cut to size to discourage them from ever seeking for secession from Nigeria again....this led to balkanization of Igbo communities and creating identity crises between Southeast Igbos and Southsouth Igbos that still exist to date.
Etchie an Igbo-speaking oil-rich community in today's Rivers State used to be part of Imo state.....they were carefully carved out of Imo State by the Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba led Military heads of state after the war......Etchie and Ohaji Egbema people of Imo state are the same people.....you need to visit there and see the tiny road they created to separate them just to make sure they are removed from Imo state.....I have been there several times during an NDDC project some years back....I cried....and they both know they are brothers but divided by federal government.
Its a long story....don't act like you don't know all these things, you do....but if you pretend not to know, no problem my brother.....its well, time and nature will definitely settle these issues How do you know that I am not Igbo. I know you very well on this platform and I read your comments most of which are tribalistic. You are too young to teach me about Nigeria, Igbos and the civil war I was born before the war. I really don't need engaging you with all the gibberish you put up there. Regardless ask yourself what tribe was in command of the Nigerian military before the war? I will leave you with that. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Threatens Military Action On Greenland by goslowgoslow(m): 10:45am On Jan 10 |
franchasofficia: My brother, you guys just don't want to understand why Igbos want out of Nigeria.
God in heaven knows that if Nigeria was functioning and operating a nation strictly built on merit, equity, fairness, Igbos will be the ones fighting to keep it as one big nation.
The reason Igbos are asking to leave Nigeria is not because they hate other tribes that make up Nigeria....it is because the Nigerian system is built to strangulate, frustrate and marginalize Igbos...that was why Peter Obi got brazenly rigged out in 2023 Presidential election and there was no nationwide outburst....that is also the same reason Yorubas mostly will come out publicly to brag and boast that "an Igbo man will never become President of Nigeria", that's a shameful thing to say to your fellow countrymen you want to be in the same nation with you....how can you be expecting absolute patriotism from the same people you work so hard to marginalize and malign?
Those are the reasons Igbos want out of Nigeria....it is for peace, for progress and for safety of all....so we all can go our separate ways and progress at our own pace based on our cultural values instead of forcing ourselves to be one when we are not ready to build a truly united nation with one goal.
On the other hand, US is a wonderful nation, the greatest nation on earth built on merit, equity, fairness, rule of law.....so Greenland people should be happy to become an important part of United States of America, that is my point You were making sense until you said Nigeria was built to marginalize Igbo at that point I stopped reading your comment. |

Use Abia state as a reference for good leadership. But rather you guys prefer funny characters. Religion and tribalism is the root cause of hatred towards Peter Obi, that's just the simple truth. PlayerMeji: Just couldn't comprehend how a lot of people are missing the point Victor was trying to prove...
The goal here is to score as many goals as possible against any opponent and at any given chance...
Shebi, it is Mozambique team that's not that good that's why it looks like the Nigerian team is good... Let them meet with better and faster players of other countries, then they will understand what Osimhen is saying.
When you have a good chance to score a goal, you shoot and score.. Now when you do not have a good chance for a goal, but your teammate is standing at a good position to score, you pass the ball to him immediately and not dribble till you pass the ball to him...
This is one point with the Spanish national team, it doesn't matter who scores, the aim is to score as many goals as possible... That's why they can win 5 to 6 goals ahead because they are more particular about the outcome than the ego of any player...
That people are bashing Osimhen today shows that Nigerians do not really have the capacity to process information and we are only about if something is working you don't need to improve on it...
Just imagine, if we were playing a team like Senegal who have had more comeback goals in this tournament than any other team, and you have a chance like that and you did not bury it...
That's when people will now come to blame Lookman for not passing to Osinmen when he should.... Abeg go and rest, you are just immatured Osimhen. The point he was trying to make is not the issue but how he did it. The locker room is there he can call Lookman aside and talk to him, the coach is there, the management team is there. Those are matured and better was of doing things as a professional. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Elon Musk Endorses Trump’s Warning To Europe To End Illegal Migration by goslowgoslow(m): 5:29pm On Jan 06 |
CyynthiaKiss: Nobody is against immigration, but illegal means is what is destroying countries, after all most Ist world countries were built by immigrants .. As if that is not enough, some of those immigrants always move around with their bad behaviour, telling people they met on ground how they should live their life .. Isn’t that madness ? Any migrant that came to Europe through visa will never misbehave, because of the stress involves in getting visa..
In Uk for example, immigrants from Pakistan, Iran , Iraq other Islamic countries have taken it upon themselves to be misbehaving , and be imposing their useless ideology on people, the same ideology that made you to flee your country .These are people that came illegally, and Uk government gave them an asylum on humanitarian basis, only to turn around and start behaving like senseless people they are with their useless behaviour.. They are the ones giving good immigrants in Europe bad names. The unfortunate part of their behaviour is that when the wave of anti immigrantion policy comes, it will sweep everyone both good and bad immigrants..
This is not even actually all about immigration, it’s an Islamic radicalism that is prevalent among Muslim migrants..
They should integrate with the society they found themselves in, and stop this Islamic nonsense or they should go home ! Unfortunately you believe that Europe allow illegal immigration. Please tell me that country in Europe. |
