The goal is to make the site useful during an actual playthrough. For example, you can check a trainer before spending LP, compare equipment before spending ore, plan your faction route and find the next quest or location when the journal is unclear.

Some information can change between patches, so it is always worth checking your current save and in-game tooltips before making an important decision.
