Last week, Southern governors held a meeting. On the face of it, it appeared as though they were just strategizing and discussing ways to better cooperate for the betterment of their people.

This week, Northern governors are doing the same. The claim is that they are meeting to encourage unity and strategies to better the lives of their people. Hogwash.

The United States has clearly made it known that they aren't playing footsie with their intention to come and clean up Nigeria's backyard. And like I predicted would happen a couple of weeks ago, kidnapping by Fulani has increased as a result. Now guess why the southern leaders met? In a Federal police arrangement, the president through the IGP controls the police as the Chief security officer or CIC of the Country.

In a state police arrangement, the governor through his commissioner of police controls the police as the chief security officer of the state.

So, if we have a regional police, when we do not have a regional system of government in place, who will the police force in the region answer to? Who will be the Head or CIC of such police establishment?
