They couldn't make Tinubu president so why should we believe they have what it takes to make any region president? The North made Tinubu president!

Yes now, it's direct primary. All verified card carrying members of the party will vote. So a national party like APC will get even more than that. That's why consensus is easier and economical for them

Omo agege brought this on himself and I have got no pity whatsoever for him.......he would have been SP today instead of akpabio but his ill conceived ambition to be gov drove him to go and pursue that which was far more difficult and out of his reach this made him loose focus on the SP seat,ut would have been his without much sweat because he would have won his senate seat in 23......anytime I remember omo agege matter,i dey always vex.

Jagaban is really a very smart and think thank. He requested for expulsion of delegates in primary and block anyone from decamping re-contest once you have contested primary in a party primary once. This will reflect the wishes of the people.

Peter Obi has criticized the present govt for spending heavily on SUVs for lawmakers, and a lot of people have cvrsed out Wike for building houses for the judiciary. But let's go back in time shall we?

The same Obi who called out the govt reportedly purchased over 400 SUVs for traditional rulers during his time as a governor, oh, and with state funds obviously. Obi also got over 110 vehicles for Local Govts. He also gave out over 21 Honda Accord cars to judges in and 58 vehicles to magistrates; And that's not all. Houses were equally built for judges that cost close to N250m at that time.

Now how do you criticize Wike for building houses for judges, then clap for Obi who did the same? That's hypocrisy at its peak.

Note that the cars also distributed to the judges were reportedly Toyota sedans and Nissan SUVs. Obi equally distributed over 31 Peugeot 406 cars to House of Assembly members.

In his time his government distributed Ford, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Peugeot. Now he's talking about supporting local production. OK.

Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje has lost the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Gombe Central Senatorial District for the fifth term.

In the direct primary election conducted Monday in Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas, two LGAs that make up the district, DCP Mohammed Ahmed (Rtd) clinched APC in the Senatorial District.
The Returning Officer of the Election, Dr Habu Dahiru, declared that DCP Ahmed scored 42,785 votes against Senator Goje’s 10,425 votes.
Ahmed was earlier picked as the consensus candidate of the APC for the Senate seat in Gombe central.

Senator Goje, has been representing the zone since 2011, after his two terms as governor of the state.

Our correspondent reports that the result would mark a significant shift in Gombe Central politics.

Speaking with journalists after the primaries, DCP Ahmed said the process was conducted without disruption, saying the atmosphere reflected the growing support for change in Gombe Central.

He said party members and residents were enthusiastic about the possibility of having a stronger representation for the zone at the National Assembly.

“You can see the excitement among the people. Many believe the time has come for Yamaltu-Deba to have a stronger voice at the national level,” he stated.

The APC’s candidate added that his ambition was not aimed at denying anyone the right to contest, “but was driven by the desire of the people for a new direction.”
When contacted, Goje’s aide declined comment, he said he would seek clearance from his principal before he could talk with journalists.
