Buhari in the excerpt urged the people to vote and monitor their votes till the votes are counted and results announced. He then said if anyone tries to prevent them either from voting or monitoring their votes, such a person should be destroyed.

"Ku halaka su" directly translated to English means "destroy them."

It is manifestly different from "Ku kashe su" which means "Kill them!"

Buhari called for the people to defend their votes by all means....not to kill anyone.
