TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by GrayHunta: 8:28pm On Jul 02, 2025
Hello everyone,

I’ve been following this page anonymously for some time and just decided to join to share my challenge.

Please Read

-I graduated with an HND in Civil Engineering in 2017.
-Worked as a civil engineer for one year and 6 months, no pay slip, and tax, only bank statement.
-Switched career and started working as a Cyber Security analyst officially in October 2021. Pay slips, bank statement, and proof of tax payment are all available.
-In April 2024, I got a BSc in Computer Science from a University in Benin Republic to complement my new career.
-I also went back to complete my top-up program, which I abandoned due to my career switch, and got my BSc in Building Technology in February 2025.

My degree program in Benin Republic was a three-year university program, and my present work experience, where I can provide payslips and bank statements proving my employment, is a total of 3 years & 10 months as I write.

Key Questions
⦁ Can my BSc in computer science be assessed as AQF comparable?
⦁ If yes, will my years of experience start counting after April 2024, when I acquired the degree?
⦁ Can my HND be useful in this instance?
⦁ Also, I have a cybersecurity vendor certification that is accepted by ACS, would that have any effect (positive) in my assessment?

Additional Information
• Age: 30
• Marital Status: Single
• Current Role: L3 - Cyber Security Analyst

I’d appreciate advice from experienced professionals who have navigated similar challenges. Any guidance would be invaluable.
