Interesting. Personally, I have witnessed a similar scenario a few times that seems mysterious.

I think a number of such demonstrations (by magicians and the likes) are performed using tricks.

However, some others (of such shows) demonstrate certain properties of nature that scientists are yet to fully comprehend.

When a magician does something that seems to defy the laws of physics (like chewing blade without getting hurt, for instance), I think they're applying the notion/principle that all heads
(brains) in the universe are connected as a single matrix, according to Otematum.

Due to the limitations of our senses, we can't see a sizeable part of reality (much of reality is filtered by the eyes).

Even there are some parts of the electromagnetic spectrum (light in layman's terms) we can't see. Also, we can't hear or detect some waves within certain frequency range.

Thus, we can't get a full picture of reality, but the (limited) interpretation our brain produces.

The magician knows this: That what we see as reality is just an illusion, not what really exists.

I think some of these magicians and priests of African traditional religion know a number of secrets about reality that the average person doesn't know. (Perhaps they learnt them from their ancestors they've deified as a god or goddess.)

They (the genuine ones among them) don't see reality like the average person does.

Some years ago, I was told that one Akwa Ibom boy hears voices from his god and that if I write something on a piece of paper and fold it, he can tell me what I wrote on the paper without opening it. I am a very rational person so I laughed it off. To make them see their own stupidity, I offered to give the guy 10k if he does it in my presence.

Well, two days later, precisely on a Sunday morning they brought the boy. I went inside, wrote 10 things in a sheet of paper and folded them roughly and brought it outside. I remember writing things like:

1. Lewandowski
2. The prince of Edinburgh
3. De Bruyne
4. Nigeria is still a slave of their own independence
5. Kemi Olunloye has diarrhea of the mouth

Forgotten the rest... The boy did some incantations and some funny dances and took one of the folded paper, chewed it and spat it out. I held with me 9 pieces. I brought out the 1 one, he closed his eyes and touched it... After meditating for like 10 seconds he would say exactly what was on the sheet. I would open it to confirm. Note that I had my eyes on him and the paper was folded beyond recognition. ( Don't blame me, my money was on the line )..

This guy didn't even give me a chance to argue because those ones he couldn't pronounce, he would spell them correctly. Cos at a point, I was praying he would mispronounce words Edinburgh, lewandowski, De Bruyne or even diarrhea.

He crowned it by also saying what I wrote in the one he spat out. I didn't bother checking cos I knew he got it correctly..

Ever since then, I have been looking for logical ways to explain how that boy did that thing. The more I try, the more ridiculous I would sound.

I'm not a christian so I dont owe them any allegiance, but quite frankly I dont see what the church did wrong .

That church makes a lot of capital investment into their infrastructure and they don't do the parish model that you have in redeemed, at least not in Naija. Sunday services are broadcast from HQ in Otta to their satellite buildings in Lagos, so there's nothing like 'area congregation'. I dont know if they still do it, but I know back in the day the Church used to run a full fleet of buses to transport members to church for free from all across Lagos.

There are two kinds of pastors in that church, volunteers and fulltime. If you want to preach for the love of God without being paid for it, you can attend WOFBI, be ordained as a pastor and be able to preach at different winners services without collecting a dime. That one is between you and God. However, if you're on a salary then you are being paid to meet certain obligations and if you dont meet them, you MUST be sacked. It's not manna from heaven that is paying your salary, it's church income, and they must be able to deploy their capital with maximum efficiency.

If you accept to collect salary from a church as a pastor, then you must accept a quota of souls to be converted to the brand. If you dont meet up then geddifok and go and open your own slow growing church.
