PoliticsPrince Emeka Kalu Presents His Manifesto To Become Rattawu Presi by GreatNdeke8(op): 10:55am On Jun 17, 2025
PRINCE EMEKA KALU (MAGIC FINGERS) PRESENTS HIS MANIFESTO TO BECOME RATTAWU PRESIDENT

*RATTAWU NDC*
"GOMBE 2025" JULY 15TH -17TH

We present to you, the Team *PEKMAGIC-ZURMI PRESIDENTIAL MANIFESTO* aka "MANDATE WITH A DEADLINE"

*OUR WORD!*
*OUR ACTION!!*
*OUR BOND!!!*

1. *RATTAWU-THE LARGEST UNION FOR MEDIA AND CULTURAL WORKERS IN NIGERIA, MUST BE A MEMBER OF NLC NAC BY UPPING OUR DELEGATES STRENGTH THROUGH UNCONVENTIONAL CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITY*
To reposition the Union, restoring her prime status in the comity of Trade Unions, as the largest Union for Media and Cultural Workers in Nigeria, maintaining the status, by symbolically upping our Delegates Strength to ensure Elective Representation at the NLC NAC, as prominent affiliate of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Frontline Member Union of the Global Unies, our International Partners (foreign and local affiliates).

2. *CONTINUITY - THE GLOBAL TRADITIONAL HALLMARK OF UNION'S STABILITY, GROWTH AND PROGRESS;*
To uphold all progress oriented, standard labour friendly policies and Programmes of the pasts, improving where necessary, to ensure continuity, stability, growth and progress, for the overall development of Our Great Union RATTAWU, bc instability of leadership and inconsistencies of policies are the bane of Industrial Unions, organisations and establishments. So,"Continuity is very Key" in Our Great Union RATTAWU.

3.*ACCOUNTABILITY, FRUGALITY AND PRUDENCE - THE SACROSANCTITY OF NLC 10% REMITTANCE, INTRA ORGAN REBATE & RATTAWU ASSETS MONITORING CUM RECOVERY NATIONAL ROVING CREW*
To uphold, revive, rebrand, rebuild, improve on, or maintain our intra cum inter Union relations, dignity, integrity, image and reputation, priority attention will be paid to accountability and prudent management of resources, statutorily reflecting frugality, prudence and accountability, prioritising timely remittances of percentages, statutory
dues and rebates, to both the umbrella-Parent Centre (the NLC), our International/Local Partners cum Affiliates and the various Internal Organs of Our Great Union RATTAWU.

Same way, we shall use the leadership instrumentality of the National Secretariat, to enforce total compliance with payment of already approved allowances like weigh-in, unreleased check offs
dues of the Union, by some establishments and Governments, as experience, has shown that leaving such Chapters or State leaderships as the case may be, to face and confront their Employers (Managements and Governments) at points of default, often negatively expose such Union Officers, to danger and risk of victimisation by some overzealous anti-union political appointees managing such establishments.
So,a high profile Roving National Assets Monitoring, Recovery and Intervention Crew, will be inaugurated and empowered from the start.

4. *STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND CRITICAL ENGAGEMENTS, DEVIATION FROM SOLE RELIANCE ON CONVENTIONAL CHECK OFF DUES: LEVERAGING ON GOOD CONTACTS AND CONNECTIONS TO GROW THE UNION - ACTUALIZING THE RATTAWU ESTATE & CAR LOANS INITIATIVE;*
To build a Union of global recognition and competitiveness, through strategic partnerships and critical engagements.
Under our watch, total reliance on Statutory Dues, would be a thing of the past, as projects would be self funded, while statutorily deploying the Union dues, we would be exploring the Goodwill Packages of Interventions from our
public spirited and affluent Collage of Friends cum Associates.
Leveraging on the philanthropic Interventions from and Partnerships of such individuals, corporate entities and government agencies would help us establish the much needed RATTAWU Low Cost Housing Estate, Radio, TV etc through where we would be diversifying and partly running a production than a single income based consumption economy, just as our links, contacts and connections with Indigenous Auto Manufacturing Firms, would be hugely explored for Soft Auto Loans to our members (in particular) and Employees of the Union (in General), whose records at their places of work, certify them "qualified" for such Loan Exercises.

5. *EDUCATION AS THE TOOL FOR RATTAWU REVIVAL AND DEVELOPMENT- ROLE OF THE RTI;*
To make RATTAWU a reputable corridor of cut-edge technology driven Trade Union, using the instrumentality of World Class Training Institutes (local and international), establishing a functional RATTAWU Training Institute (RTI), as enshrined in function vi page 4, of the Union's Constitution, hence becoming a Centre of Excellence, where "Education (grassroot mobilization, public enlightenment and sensitisation)," would be used as a tool, for the overall revival, development and growth of Our Great Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) Member and Staff.

6. *LEADERSHIP OF INCLUSIVITY: HARMONIOUS INDUSTRIAL BONDING -THE RATTAWU MEMBER/SECRETARIAT STAFF MUTUALITY & CROSS POLLINATION OF RELATIONSHIPS*
To run a welfare based leadership of inclusivity, where employees of the Union and each RATTAWU member's welfare, would be prioritised through systemic remuneration and allowances, sporadic appraisals and promotions,
for optimum ownership - spirited - performance, commitment and production based service delivery among the Staff and members, for positive bonding.
A happy and committed workforce, is less acrimonious, eschews indolence, but shows unconditional love to the Union, commitment to her activities, projects and programmes, mutual respect for one another observing hierarchy within and outside the work places, maintaining self discipline and carriage of self esteem, sincerity of purpose and loyalty to leaderships at all level, thereby, fostering overall industrial harmonious co-existence and bonding of RATTAWU Members and Staff.

7. *ENHANCED WELFARE AND WELLBEING PACKAGES - THE SPECIAL MEDIA AND CULTURAL WORKERS SALARY STRUCTURES;*
To struggle for enhanced welfare and special wellbeing packages for members of the Union (in particular) and the waged workers (in general), encouraging excellence amongst the Union Members and Staff, cum timetous remittances of statutory deductions, (as and when due), bc a properly remunerated workforce, exudes happiness, which guarantees
patriotism, promotes hard work, encourages excellence and efficient service delivery, also breeding enhanced productivity, stemming from glaring ownership spirits, commitment to work, as well as inducing the display of individual creativity, innovativeness, self confidence, ethical conducts, team spirit
and hard work that breeds positive results.
It's become worrisome, that our Members in some Industrial Unions, are enjoying Special Sectoral Wages namely; CONHESS, TSS etc, but our great Union RATTAWU is yet to, this is inspite of the Essential Service status and overall sacrificial role played daily by RATTAWU Members across the Country, our take home pays remain nothing to comparatively write home about.
To this end, having participated in the clamour and pursuit of the agitated Special Media Salary Structure in the past and as currently being pursued, we shall in partnership with relevant agencies and stakeholders, reinvigorate the pursuit, with serious but quiet intensity, that'll be riveting towards achieving the much needed "Special Media Salary Structure"
Same way, we shall initiate a Special Package for the Cultural Workers.
Since our Culture , Custom and Traditions are Our ways of life, incoming PEKMAGIC-ZURMI leadership will press to ensure that each State Government establishes a functional Council for Arts and Culture, to further ensure Our Tradition and Culture do not go into extinction in the near future.

8. *CONSTITUTION REVIEW, TO REST TRADE GROUP IMBROGLIO: STEPPING DOWN THE 113TH ILC GENEVA EXPERIENCE - RATTAWU GLOBAL RELEVANCE*
As one who in over a dozen years ago (Awka 2011), hosted the Constitution Review Conference that amended the RATTAWU Constitution and produced the one currently in use today, bc we love to act in conformity with Constitutional provisions and within the tenets of extant laws, we would be initiating via fresh Constitution Amendment Conference, the Review of moribund labour laws and bring Our Great Union RATTAWU to speed with all the New and Relevant Laws provisions and policies of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), reached at the just concluded 113th International Labour Conference (ILC), where the World Labour Leaders, Government, Policy Makers and Implementers (Myself Included Live), converged on the United Nations in Geneva Switzerland.
The current Constitution will be reviewed in partnership with relevant stakeholders drawn from different divides within and beyond the Union, pursuant to a more United RATTAWU, where all Members would bond as one Indivisible entity, so that "a RATTAWU United, can never be divided"

9. *CELEBRATING RATTAWU @50 WITH RATTAWU RADIO & TV/ KEEPING THE LEGENDS ALIVE;*
To use the tool of critical thinking to accelerate the growth and development of the union through innovative programs that are specifically targeted at wealth creation and income generation.
In today's highly competitive world, riddled by unbridled survival instincts, most Industrial Unions have realised that Unions would hardly survive with sole reliance on incomes from the Statutory Check Off Dues, hence, the current wave of income diversification amongst Unions.
On the part of RATTAWU as we near our Golden Jubilee Anniversary (almost 50Yrs old), the incoming PEKMAGIC-ZURMI leadership will explore our strategic partnerships to facilitate the acquisition of Licences and Equipment for the establishment of RATTAWU Radio, TV, to further strengthen our Culture for global showcase and also generate income for the Union.
Establishing RATTAWU Owned Radio, Television Stations are projects long overdue.
Such platforms when established as owned by the Union, would not only create job opportunities for our young teaming Graduates of Mass Communications, Theatre Arts etc, to members who, out of Employers' victimisation, had their
services cut short abruptly, including our veterans (ex members),who retired but not tired, those would explore the platform to still showcase their talents, sweet voices to the Microphones and remarkable faces to the Screens, with our Cultural Theatre and Veterans of the Performing Arts, displaying their memorable skills to their fanbase of followers and admirers.

*UNIONISATION/END TO THE POACHING OF RATTAWU MEMBERS:*
The comprehensive Unionisation of Workers in Private Radio and Television Outfits, had lingered for long, but we would make it a foregone task that must be achieved, to ensure that every Private Radio and Television Worker, belongs to RATTAWU and all that operate wherever Our Constitution stipulates, would be unionized according to constitutional provisions and extant laws of the land.
In the reverse side of the coin, poaching of our Members by other Unions not stipulated for our membership by the Registration that established RATTAWU, would be constitutionally stopped once we take Office.
We should barr such Unions, from the inglourious poaching act and our hitherto poached members, brought back to the RATTAWU fold.
Also, under our watch, no unregistered Trade Union, would operate parallelly, to water the strength of our Union in any establishment (RATTAWU Chapters),
where Our members operate.

11. *INTRA CONFLICT RESOLUTION MECHANISM/ ADVISORY COUNCIL/ EX SERVICE ENGAGEMENT;*
To among other Standing Committees, establish the Truth and Reconciliation Committee, where "Hidden Facts (if any)" would be unearthed solutions proffered/suggested on ways forward for the progress of the Union made.
Aggrieved members who feel injured, those who nurse grievances or otherwise, could channel their grievances, seek redress, and get misgivings amicably resolved, while any who is hitherto ousted, could appeal for review, aiming at possible reabsorption into the fold by the requisite leadership Organ of the Union.

a) An Advisory Council of Past Leaders, will be constituted, empowered and made functional to carry out it statutory advisory role.

b) Also worthy of note, is that while PEKMAGIC-ZURMI may not be interested in disengaging any current employee of the Union, whenever vacancies exit and advertised in the Union, our Retired Officers would also be encouraged to apply for appointments or contracts into such advertised vacant positions they may be found still relevant or useful to the Union.

12. *CONVENTIONAL & NEW MEDIA VISIBILITY: TOOL FOR SEAMLESS RATTAWU ADMINISTRATION:*
In this IT Savey Era, information passage is very Key to every individual and organisation's existence.
Our Great Union RATTAWU, inspite of our Frontline Role as Image Makers and Proper Information Dissemination and Communication Gurus, misinformation, disinformation and communication gaps, have dealt a big blow on our harmonious co-existence and rather contributed immensely in dividing us.
To this end, we shall embrace holistic rebranding, reorientation and all round visibility, by hoisting a functional Website, showing active presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, all Social Media Publicity and E Communication Platforms, such that the Union will be syndicating stories and interfacing live events from all nooks and crannies, and every organ of the Union, such that you may not necessarily need to put a call across to get an information, as you'll just surf the net.
Every activity of the Union, whether at Chapter, State, Zonal or National level, would be made visibly live on all Social Media Platforms and watched live at the National Secretariat, States or Chapters.

Together, we can work for a better and an assured future of a greater RATTAWU.

*MISSION STATEMENT:*
To have a Union whose members are exceptional, exposed, enlightened, highly Professional and self reliant, restoring our integrity in the comity of Trade Unions, as one with elitist membership and the largest Union for Media and Cultural Workers in Nigeria

_While resolving to render welfare oriented service, where every RATTAWU Member and those under the Union's employ, would have deep sense of belonging, satisfaction and commitment, oozing from Ownership Spirits, RATTAWU Members would parade themselves with the confidence, boldness and pride of belonging to the largest Union for Media and Cultural Workers in Nigeria._

_Our Union shall become a centre of excellence, where leadership retreats , education based workshops, seminars and conferences, would be utilsed as a tool, for the total and overall development of the individuals RATTAWU Member or Staff_

E-Signed

PoliticsSoludo: President Tinubu Rescued The Economy by GreatNdeke8(op): 8:57pm On Jun 13, 2025
SOLUDO: PRESIDENT TINUBU RESCUED THE ECONOMY FROM THE TIPPING POINT, RETURNED PUBLIC FINANCE TO SOLVENCY.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has declared that President Bola Tinubu's administration salvaged Nigeria's public finances from the brink of collapse.

In an address delivered on June 12 at The Platform Nigeria, hosted by Pastor Poju Oyemade and The Covenant Nation, Governor Soludo praised President Tinubu's economic reforms. He called for a nationwide ethical and ideological rebirth to drive sustainable national development.

Speaking on the theme "Rebuilding Our Nation," Soludo urged political parties across the country to unite along ideological lines as a first step toward a new, issue-based political culture.

"The audacious structural reforms embarked upon by the current administration of HE Bola Ahmed Tinubu have rescued the economy from the tipping point.

"The endorsements by the World Bank, IMF, London Financial Times, rating agencies—Fitch, Moody's, are well deserved.

"Many people know that I made a living criticising the World Bank and the IMF. As Governor of Anambra, I have even rejected a World Bank loan because of the terms. On the trajectory of the current economic reforms, the World Bank, etc, are largely right. Funny enough, when these institutions criticise the government, some people use them to validate their criticisms, but when the same institutions give a positive report, they are derided as "neoliberal, out-of-touch institutions".

"In 2023, I had described the state of the economy when this government assumed office as akin to a standing dead horse, and public finance was about to tip from solvency, with potentially catastrophic consequences, including possible mass retrenchment of workers and/or arrears of salaries and pensions. Public finance is back on a solvency path, and macro fundamentals are recovering positively," Soludo said.

Acknowledging the broad spectrum of expert opinions on Nigeria's economic outlook, Soludo urged public commentators to adopt a more rigorous, evidence-based approach to economic critique.

"Many analysts have interesting 'opinions', but I urge them to go deeper: conduct rigorous counterfactual analysis and provide credible alternatives! As a friend said recently, the task is always easy, especially if you are not the one doing it," he said.

While recognising that the list of proposed national reforms, from constitutional restructuring and security to infrastructure and anti-corruption, is extensive, the former CBN Governor emphasised that the critical issue is how to implement such reforms effectively within a resource-constrained and unequal society.

Beyond the economy, the Anambra governor, who is also the leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, stressed that Nigeria's future rests on the character and values of its citizens, not just leadership.

He called for a nationwide ethical renewal and strategic investment in the Nigerian people to inspire patriotism and selfless service.

"We must deliberately create a critical mass of 'new Nigerians'—who believe in her and are ready, if necessary, to die for her.

"The struggle for liberation from colonialism would not have been possible without the nationalists of the time, and the current struggle to liberate her from underdevelopment cannot be sustainable with 'neo-nationalists' of today.
"No nation has prospered sustainably without a critical mass of patriotic, vigilant and actively participatory citizenry," he said.

The governor lamented the erosion of Nigeria's traditional values of hard work, integrity, and enterprise, warning against a growing national culture that glorifies unearned wealth and shortcuts to success:

"The 'culture' that celebrates and expects something for nothing or wealth without work must give way to a culture that rewards and celebrates hard work, enterprise and integrity. In a society where no one asks/cares about sources of livelihood or where most people expect and celebrate unearned/free money, transactional governance will always trump transformational leadership."

Soludo pointed to recent Federal and Anambra state government initiatives as foundational investments that could foster a new generation of patriotic citizens.
These include the federal government's NELFUND student loan scheme, Anambra's One Youth, Two Skills program, and increased spending on free education and healthcare.

"The shortest answer is to give the citizens stakes in the society by investing in their future… These programs excite the youths/students and could hopefully create 'stakeholders' in future projects," he said.

He called for a national effort to combat widespread beliefs in magical wealth, saying this mindset must be legislated against, tackled through education, and countered through cultural influence, particularly in the media.

"It is my thesis that a society where no one asks/cares about sources of livelihood or where most people expect and celebrate unearned/free money is one where transactional governance will always trump transformational leadership."

Emphasising the need for unity around progressive values and the ideological realignment of Nigeria's political order, the governor said:

"We must break this vicious 'culture' and intentionally promote ethical-value rebirth. This is a national emergency requiring urgent national conversation."
