For the past one week, 36-year-old Mr. Chidumeme (English: God Directs my Doings) Onwuamadike (Death knows not the great) has moved from the most wanted kidnapper in Nigeria to a celebrity criminal and the most wanted man by the media. Revelation upon revelation are being unraveled about the life of the billionaire kidnapper from Nnewi and his hometown in Umudim Nnewi, Anambara State has become a tourist attraction of a sort.

As many Nigerians are screaming, like the Biblical Jews, “Crucify him! Crucify him”, let us not forget that living amongst us and sitting over our affairs are many who have committed and are committing greater crimes than Evans have ever committed.
They are present in highly furnished offices, from where they reallocate billions of money meant for the betterment of the general Nigerian public to their pockets.
They are those who assign their incompetent relatives and friends to carry out projects that should have been given to reputable and straightforward companies to handle so that they can sit together around some bottles of beer to settle the matter.
They are those who kick against every good thing that should be given to the youths. Those who claim that they spend up to 1 million Naira on each NYSC corps member during a service year.
They are those who congregate at their big man to big man weddings with many private jets and wine and dine after making speeches on print media that lead the gullible youths to fight and kill one another- really stupid youths.
They are those who are untouchable and who are immune to the law.
They execute contracts of 20 million Naira with 2 billion Naira and yet they go scot free. Their children deserve the best education in any country of their choice using the stolen funds while the rest of the country… you know all fingers are not equal.
If peradventure there are ever sued to court, they will mobilize all the Senior Advocates and wrestle justice to a full stop. Their cases will continue being adjourned until most Nigerians get tired of following up and then you will hear that they have been declared “Innocent”.
We know them, anytime they are found to possess unreasonably huge amounts that they and their children and grandchildren up till the fifth generation unborn cannot use up, they claim the cash was just “a gift”.
We know them and we worship them. We organize events and we give them awards for their immense “contribution to nation building”. Sorry did you say Nation what?!
Evans was caught and he has confessed to his crimes and has cooperated fully with security forces so far, but the evil men who ride in supercars and live in heavenly mansions and shuttle around the world in private jets bought with the blood and toils of millions of poor (sorry wretched) Nigerians will never agree that they are guilty.
They can Dele-Giwa-rise anybody, maim, cause riots or even wars to maintain their “Innocence” and retain their positions at their looting spots.
After governorship, they will contest for the senate, after senate they will contest for some other positions of power. Not to benefit the people but for the sole purpose of sharing the national moi-moi.
Just remember this;
Each time one pot-bellied politician diverts money meant to be used for building quality roads to his pocket, anybody that dies on that road as a result of accident caused by bad roads was killed by that pot-bellied man.
Each time an innocent child or pregnant woman or sick man dies because someone worse than Evans the kidnapper decided that the money meant to build or maintain the hospitals is better saved in his off-shore account or his bullet-proof save, that man or woman is responsible for those deaths.
Each time there is youth unrest and cultism and kidnapping and robbery and militancy, it is because some people who are not up to 0.00001% of our population decided that only their children deserve the best while the rest…are leaders of tomorrow on television and in the future that never comes… After all “all fingers are not equal”
Each time an elderly statesman is deprived of his pension or gratuity because a governor decides that saving for his next campaign is a more noble course, each one of them who collapse and die was killed by that governor.
In my article about the lynching of Ghanaian soldier man Maxwell Mahama, (http://www.gistgate.com/2017/06/in-memory-of-maxwell-mahama.html?m=1), I wrote about how we worship those who deserve to be lynched while we kill the poor at any instance of provocation, even when the poor steal one cup of garri, his fellow poor men will gather to kill.

Now I am not saying it is wrong for Evans the kidnapper to face the drum of the law, after all he who goes to the bush and fetches termite-infested wood has invited the lizards to dine at his house, but I am saying, let us remember that there are far more “bader” people who have killed many directly and indirectly and who have stolen 10 times what Evans have stolen and still we call them heroes and patriots.

2019 is coming. They will come again to woo us, let us take from them everything and give them nothing.

A female graduate of Imo State University who was due to serve in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been killed in an accident.

GistGate.com gathered that the lady Miss Chioma Augusta Ananobi, died from injury she ssustained when she was hit by a car and her head hit a pillar. Efforts to save her proved abortive and she died as a result of her injury. Gistgate also gathered that the lady was preparing to go to NYSC in Stream 2 of 2017 Batch A
