Ayooze:Good Day Sir. Thanks so much for your constructive input, it's well appreciated. The answer to your questions are well detailed in the Business Plan pdf but it can't be posted here. Since you are in Osun State, I will appreciate if we can meet One on One to discuss this. To answer few of the questions: 1) We have not Kickstart the project because we only have 3 investors out of the projected 10 investors needed. 2) Land is never a problem in Osun State. Initially, my plan was to situate the Farm in Ede/Ilesa Axis, but due to the rapid development going in in that area, I believe it's best to move to a less developed Area, reason I'm considering Awo/Erin Osun/Songbe etc axis. Songbe is better because the land there is water-logged. As you are aware, waterlogged land is very good for coconut and it will equally not be attractive for commercial usage, thereby making it more secure from government takeover. |
Interested........ What's the deal Kidblack200: |
keeper303:I understand Boss, more reason I am not collecting Money from anyone. We will gather on the land and do all the layout and planting together. The Money spent will be open to everyone and will be shared accordingly. I just want to do it in a commercial capacity so that the bye products will be exportable, if not, I can easily do 2 Acres for myself and sell for consumption. |
umuna:Thanks Boss, I appreciate. Making sure each person have access to atleast 1 Acre is the plan. Reason I'm looking for 10 people for the 10 Acres plan. It's part of what I stated in the proposal. Yes, I'm familiar with the Grasscutter and Termites and there is already laid down plan to avert that. And again, any prospective investor would not have to wait till 4th Year before getting return as there is plan to plant Plantain and Pepper on the farm. So, within 5 Months, we will start cashing out from the farm. |
umuna:I have checked your thread out. I'll be happy to learn from you since you are fully into the business already. How would you rate my expectations from the 1000 stands based on your output from the 350 stands. Thanks Sir |
sharka1:You can kindly reach me here Sir: +1 (541) 539-6014 (WhatsApp) |
Wealthyonos:of course there would be legal backing. Like I said earlier in the post, if you are investing money, you have to be actively involved or you have a representative if you aren't available. There is nothing like you will drop money and only expect return at the end of so so so time. You have to be actively involved |
umuna:I want it to be a joint venture business. If I solely buy the land and you invest only on the Coconut, it means you will be benefiting from the land for the next 70 Years whereas it belongs to only myself. One can die anytime you know, it means my family can come up and decided to cut you off because He who owns the land owns everything on it. But if you are a partner and you have 1 Acre for yourself, even if other pulls out, your 1 Acre with the coconut on it is still yours. |
lanre4411:Thank you very much Sir, I appreciate. You have done well by allowing farmers to cultivate on the land, they will help to take care of the farm. You are lucky to get good specie of Palm Tree. I am familiar with Ede very well, which Area is your farm in Ede? I am looking at acquiring land around ALAJUE, PONPOLA or ELEWURE all in Ede. |
That's the snake in Picture 1. The Snake in Picture 2 is equally at the Centre of the Picture

Why Coconut? 1) It's Disease Resistant 2) It's Drought Resistant 3) It's Fire Resistant 4) It's Wind Resistant 5) Theft Resistant Even Cow Resistant |

It's showing notifications that I was mentioned but I didn't see the comment. Seems Nairaland is hiding comments now |
bassdow:thanks for your criticism. I never said I've set one up before and I didn't ask a dime from anyone. I thought about it deeply before putting the proposal up here. I could keep it to myself and do it gradually as you have stated, but I felt no harm in bringing people of likes mind together to achieve it in a bigger way. If you want to criticise the plan, you can atleast bring something out of it that you feel could make the plan go wrong. Coconut isn't only the Cash Crop around, I chose it for a reason. Cocoa is a Cash Crop, but it's not resilient like Coconut. If you plant 1000 stands, over 500 can die before the following Year. Palm Tree is a Cash Crop, but when you factor the cost and stress of processing the Nuts, then you will realise Coconut is Better. So even if it's an experiment, the risk is worth it(eventhough there is none). Why Coconut? 1) It's Disease Resistance 2) It's Drought Resistance 3) It's Fire Resistance Etc. And mind You, I didn't copy anything from anywhere, those are my write up. Anyone that wishes to do it privately can use the details there, it's free of charge. And like I've said in my earlier post, I'm not looking for investors or asking anyone to bring their Money. Anyone interested must be ready to participate actively. Every Successful Person is a Risk Taker |

brownemmanuel43:Thanks for your input Sir. Well, I've always been a subsistence farmer. I major I'm Maize and Cassava like most farmers. I decided to divert into commercial/cash crop farming this Year due to the higher return over a long period of time. This project wouldn't be like most projects around. I don't want INVESTORS, I want PARTNERS. I want people of like minds that are willing to take risk(eventhough there is little or no risk involved). I want people that would make themselves available at the farm on occasional basis. I want every partner to be active participants. This is an investment that even our Children would benefit from. All members would become a big family. It's a project that gives room for expansion. So I am not interested in collecting Money from anyone and then promise return on investment after a period of time, NO. Every interested partner must be ready to participate actively. Even if the person isn't around, He/She must have a representative. |
Partners still needed |
mfm04622:Thanks for the input Sir. As regards your first point, I've equally considered it too but the challenge is I want the 1000 stand to be in the same location. And if you check the cost breakdown, it's the land that takes bulk of the Money and not the seedling. So if I choose to buy let's say 3 Acres to plant the 200 stand. By the following year, the remaining land would have been occupied and it means I'll be planting the next 200 in another location and the trend will go like that till we reach 1000. It means to work on the different farms would be hectic, securing it would require like 5 security for each location, logistics for harvesting and transportation would increase etc. That's why I decided to throw it open for partnership so that it would be easier to achieve. And for the 2nd point, the Main purpose of the Plantain is to protect the Coconut at the initial stage, to give it shade. The secondary reason is profit generation pending when the coconut will start producing. Plantain is a very notorious plant, it takes over land of not properly controlled. So if we decided to plant plantain first and then use the proceed to plant the Coconut, the plantain would have taken over the land and equally soften the land as it burrows into the Soil. |
Redman44:Thanks for the helpful suggestion, I appreciate it Sir. My initial plan is to sell the Coconut Raw to buyers and companies. Subsequently, we can then start processing it to get the different by-products. |
I am open to constructive criticism and guidance from farmers and experts in the House. Thanks |
I need PARTNERS in the establishment of Coconut Farm with capacity of 1000 Coconut Trees. Duration of Investment: 3 Years - 40 Years (minimum). It simply means we will start MAJOR Payout from the farm starting from the 3rd Year till the next 40 Years atleast. But there will be minor payout from 6 Months of establishment of the farm because the coconut will be intercropped with Maize, Plantain etc. COST OF ESTABLISHMENT: Land: (15 Acres): #12,000,000 Coconut Seedling (1000 pieces): #4,000,000 Plantain Seedling (6000 pieces): #3,000,000 Land Clearing: #750,000 Planting Coconut and Plantain: #2,100,000 Bush Clearing: (3 Years): #2,700,000 Miscellaneous: #500,000 Total: #25,050,000. *The plantation will be cleared twice in a Year at an average cost of #30,000 per Acre. Location: *Ilesa in Osun State or Ibadan in Oyo State (not decided yet). But I prefer the land in Osun State. Expected Return. Year 1: Coconut: Zero Plantain: #4,500,000 Year 2: Coconut: Zero Plantain: #9,000,000 Year 3: Coconut: #20,000,000 Plantain: #9,000,000 Year 4: Coconut: #40,000,000 Plantain: #4,500,000 Year 5: Coconut: #80,000,000 Plantain: ##1,500,000. *Subsequent Years, we expect nothing less than 80 Million naira from Coconut and 1 Million Naira from Plantain. * Eventhough we will be planting 1000 stand of Coconut, our calculation will be based on 900 stand because some of them might not fruit. *Plantain ROI reduces down the Years because as the coconut covers, we start removing the plantain to give enough air to the Coconut. * At Year 3, we expect average of 50 Fruits from each Coconut Tree From Year 5, we expect optimal yield of 200 Fruits per Coconut Tree. I have a Coconut Trees that gives me average of 400 fruits currently. But we based our calculation on 200 fruits and #400 per fruit eventhough a fruit goes for over #800 now. Each partner will make atleast 320% Profit EVERY YEAR for the next 70 Years without having to put any new Capital into it. With just ONE TIME investment, you earn for the next 70 Years. Challenges Expected. * Labour Shortages: Currently, there is shortage of labour. I'm currently establishing 20 Acres of Cocoa farm and it has been very difficult to get labourers to clear the land. But gradually, we are overcoming it * Theft: It's guaranteed that we will have cases of theft on the farm, but the good thing is it's difficult to steal Coconut. But the time you carry 20 fruits, you are already tired. So in as much as there is a security guard on watch, it's only people that wants to eat that will steal from Us and not those that will bring truck to the farm. And even if they steal up to 1000 fruits, it takes nothing away from our Profit. Insurance. The farm will be insured, eventhough we don't forsee any catastrophic incident. Participation: The plan is to do it in form of shareholding. We need #25,050,000 to establish the farm. The moment the target is reached, we stop taking in participants. So if someone decides to let's say contribute #5,000,000 to join. It means the person has 19.96% stake in the Farm. So, after Year harvest and we have 80 Million return, the person will get 16 Million naira (which is 19.9% of the Profit). Future Plan. Asides selling the Fruits as a whole, there are other bigger ways to make Money from the farm. Coconut has many bye-products that gives higher return, eg *Coconut Oil *Coconut Milk/Cream *Coconut Shell *Coconut Water *Coconut flour etc So when we are fully established, we can start making the bye-products and even export then to make More Money. |
