Yeye people, the are just pressuring tinubu to release money from there padded budgets with all of these theatrics. |
Car Talk › Re: What Are Your Experiences Owning A Chinese Car In Nigeria by Greenodds: 9:34am On Jul 22 |
L0wk3y: I’m not saying Chinese brands won’t gain market share, but he said in 5 years they will outshadow legacy brands. But me personally I’ve never seen anyone say their dream car is a Chinese brand, I’ve not had anyone I know buy a Chinese car over a Benz, Range Rover or Honda. Funny thing is most of these legacy brands don’t even have official service centers in Nigeria and some of these Chinese brands do yet people don’t choose them. Don’t get me wrong I know a lot about these Chinese brands, I keep up very well and they’re genuinely breaking the mold in almost every category of the industry except brand loyalty and reliability. The cars just lack identity. If you hear Benz, you know it’s semi-luxury with a wonderful powertrain. If you hear Toyota, you know its reliability with ruggedness at an affordable price. If you hear Audi, Range Rover, Bentley, Ferrari, Rolls Royce etc. you already know what to expect, cos these brands have identities. The Chinese brands just don’t, you never know what to expect when you hear the name and even then you’re still skeptical until you see or drive the car for yourself because they’re trying to do everything at once without a clear target audience. Definitely exciting cars still, they just lack identity. It’s just the smartphone market all over again…Honor, Oneplus, Oppo, Huawei etc have wonderful phones with crazy features but you rarely see anyone choose them over Apple and Samsung, despite Apple having no single official store in Nigeria. The brand just speaks for itself. We are saying the same thing. I am just adding that the way Chinese car brands are going it's only going to be a matter of time before some people will genuinely choose them over all these cars you mentioned. This is exactly what happened to Japanese cars, just a while ago, in the 80s, nobody regarded Japanese cars, back then, European cars held sway. People looked at Japanese cars the way the looked at Chinese cars today. You would hardly see anyone driving a Toyota back then. It was peugots, mercedes, Volvo, fiat etc. but with time and consistency people realised it was much more value for their money. That's what is going on with Chinese cars today. It's only a matter of time. |
Crime › Re: Terrorists In Northern Nigeria, Sahel Now Using Drones, Cryptocurrency – UN by Greenodds: 9:28am On Jul 22 |
Dzzzz: UN has no business in our politics brother..When you invite the devil to worship with the saints, what do you expect??..African leaders are the problem and don’t even talk of the supporters.. African people are not the ones that put the leaders they are put there by western foreign interests. African leaders serve foreign interest not the interest of Africa or it's people. You are naive to think UN have no business in African politics. They are the cancer plaguing Africa, most especially France, US and UK. When you understand this everything starts to make sense. |

Originalsly: No doubt... people just need to stop open mouth and swallow whatever they say. Where has the UN ever gone and there has been peace and stability ? Where has the UN ever gone that was not to support the agenda of the US? Does the UN not know what's going on in Gaza? ... or Lebanon? .. it's Charters blatantly violated? Isn't this exactly what the Bible mentioned ... one can't see the plank in his own eyes but can see the speck of dust in another's eye?". UN Peace Keeping Force is right there in Lebanon and being over run ... but here they are talking about Nigeria. This is the MO of the occupiers ... they create a conflict zone in the region they want to control .. hype it .. increase the violence beyond the ability of the local government to control ... then step in to the rescue ... bring peace to the region by withdrawing defeating the terrorists... but never leaves in the name of mission accomplished. Instead they remain and take control. Look at Iraq ... look at Libya ... look at Syria ... look at Haiti ... look at Venezuela ... look at what is currently happening in Iran .. look at the strategy used... create a problem ... go in to solve it ... but never leave .. control the resources ... and the country becomes worse instead of better ... and there is silence. They are coming for the North.... to control the rare earth minerals found there in abundance ... and the rich agricultural land. And short sighted us are supporting them Lets open our eyes before it's too late ... this is the second coming of the Europeans. Your eyes are open. Let's help the others understand. |

Dzzzz: If they are the real terrorists..What’s stops you from making your own decisions??.. The puppets they install make the decisions brother. The only way is for the people to unite and get them out, but they make that extremely difficult with all sorts of division tactics especially religion and ethnicity. |

Sheuns: I never said Chinese car makers don’t do research. I pointed out an edge the European car makers have over them for now.
Research helps your car reliability.
Take it or leave it, research is still a factor that sets products and manufacturers apart. Not just in cars. It's not an edge because Chinese car manufacturers do that too. Rather the edge they have for now is brand recognition which is achieved as a result of the combination of many factors including research. Chinese car manufacturers need to prove themselves too but they need time. |
Car Talk › Re: What Are Your Experiences Owning A Chinese Car In Nigeria by Greenodds: 8:39am On Jul 21 |
Sheuns: The seat belts found in all modern cars today was a product of research by Volvo. They decided not to patent it so every car maker can put them in their cars for safety.
Turbo engines, EVs and a whole lot of features in modern cars today are as a result of research. There is no serious car manufacturer that do not do research. Research as a point of argument against Chinese cars holds no water. Chinese cars are just waiting to pass reliability test and they take over the global auto market, it requires time. |
Car Talk › Re: What Are Your Experiences Owning A Chinese Car In Nigeria by Greenodds: 6:45am On Jul 21 |
L0wk3y: China will never drive them out because the level of reliability on Chinese cars is not yet on par with legacy auto manufacturers. They have massive quantities but lesser quality. That’s why their cars start rusting very quickly. And also face a lot of recalls after launch because defects are surplus. It's already happening, they are gradually losing market share. Just pay attention to your roads, you'll be surprised to notice a lot of these cars, they already replaced what is supposed to be honda or Toyota or Benz etc. Its just a matter of time the only customers they will have are those that patronise just for the brand. It might be a different story for established reliable brands like Toyota and honda, but if Chinese cars prove themselves over the years to be reliable no reasonable person will pay a premium to get that same or better reliability. |
Car Talk › Re: What Are Your Experiences Owning A Chinese Car In Nigeria by Greenodds: 6:36am On Jul 21 |
Sheuns: Nope. What set them apart is research.
Those European vehicle makers put a lot of money into research. What are they researching? |

Politics › Re: Senate Kills Motion Seeking Probe Into ₦1.3Billion PFIPC 2026 Budget by Greenodds: 9:02am On Jul 09 |
AngelSlay: Every time stories like this break, it's ordinary Nigerians who lose confidence in public institutions.
Imagine a budget line worth ₦1.3 billion making its way into the national budget, and instead of a transparent legislative probe to reassure the public, the matter is deferred elsewhere. Whether the executive investigation eventually uncovers wrongdoing or not, Nigerians deserve openness, accountability, and answers.
Unfortunately, this is why many young people feel disillusioned. They work hard, pay taxes, obey the law, yet they often feel the standards expected of them are not the same standards applied to those in positions of power.
That said, don't let frustration stop you from building your own future. Invest in yourself. Learn valuable skills. Build a career that can compete globally. Create multiple streams of income. Position yourself so you have options—whether that's working remotely, studying abroad, starting a business, or pursuing opportunities in another country if that's the right path for you. The goal shouldn't simply be to "escape." The goal is to have the freedom to choose where you live and work because you've built skills that are valuable anywhere in the world.
Regardless of where you eventually settle, never stop demanding transparency, accountability, and good governance. A better Nigeria will only emerge when citizens continue to ask tough questions and insist that public institutions serve the people.
Lol! Nigeria is GONE. omo make i begin find way to leave this country. THIS IS TWO MONTH THE IBADAN SCHOOL KIDS ARE IN CAPTIVE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT.
