Yes we all know Klaus is the "original" hibreed and vicious also ruthless and so expected to wipe the floor with Elijah but he's ultimate weakness is his temper and speed in rushing into fights overbelieving himself because he's a "hibreed". On the other hand there is the brave and EVER noble Elijah calm cool headed and a bad ass strategist before he enters battles he knows his opponent and though rare we have also seen that he can also be vicious but he just is always in control. The dude's a master planner like when we saw Klaus' power stolen to power the wolves moon ring when Klaus was screaming fire and brim stone because of his wounded pride it was Elijah's tatic and advice for him to calm down that really got their enemies unsettled and easy to take down because of fear, Elijah practically handled the whole situation plus he is the only one that can stand toe to toe with Klaus.
