steady986: Lol, it's all about matchups. Which center on the Celtics was working Embiid? Any team he meets in the west is smacking his behind with that bum knee and back. The east doesn't have prominent big men that can work him. Embiid's only competition is Jokic & Giannis. Zubac & Gobert have ceilings offensively. Wemby has length only, strengthwise, he is zilch. He can swap away a layup but cant stop a good old dunk. Vucs, Brooke, KAT, ihart & Chet are nobody. There you have it. Embiid is a still a problem in the paint even to Western teams. Double team him and he has wingmen that can explode. 76ers problem will be their lack of depth. That is where Spurs and OKC come in. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 4:29pm On May 03 |
To be fair, a healthy Embiid is top 5 in the league. He wasn't MVP for no reason. A healthy Embiid, a healthy Paul George & Tyrese Maxey will give any team High BP. |

At this point, the mediocrity in the East is oozing terribly. You look at 2 mediocre teams in the form of Cavs and Raptors dragging themselves to game 7. 1st seed and 8th seed dragging themselves to game 7. It is the freaking 1st round. No statement win whatsover. If ATL had not been caught snooping, they would have had themselves a game 7 too. Mediocrity!
Compare that to the West. Statement wins! Sweeps! A first seed doing what a first seed is meant to, a 2nd seed doing what a second seed is supposed to. See the Wolves, individuals stepping up when necessary and putting up a hell of a show.
Can we have the WCSFs & WCFs already? That's what I live for. Not the shit show in the East. |

Kilishihunter: Knicks really showed them pepper. Them wan fight sef 😂😂 They can go rest at last. If rockets take game 6 then ime's boys will surely enter the next game with more confidence. The nuggets might also get back too tonight The Nuggets are cooked. Credit to the Wolves for doing so well even without Antman. Nuggets need to move on from Jamal Murray as a 2. Season on the line, 4/17 FG wont cut it. Also, WTH happened to the Celtics? From 3-1 to 3-3? They were meant to finish this off in game 5. |

Fox should become consistent so we'll get another big three. Thank you Adam silver and coach Pop Fox is consistent. He knows the offense runs through Wemby so he is playing his part, being a good Robin. |

larride: Hawks beat Knicks again. The lead the series 2-1.
Whoever sanctioned that Mikal Bridges trade is an slowpoke to give up all those first for a bum like Bridges.
Also the last play by Knicks makes absolutely no sense, of course they are going to double team Brunson, the pass should've gone to KAT, that they didn't even get a shot off is the most laughable part.
Good win by Hawks, good trade for CJ McCollum. I'm sure Hawk fans will be glad they got rid of Trae Bridges (0 points, 21 minutes) & Josh Hart (2 points, 40 minutes) should feel very ashamed of themselves considering the Hawks won by just 1 point. |

It is a very safe bet. Whoever wins between PSG & Bayern Munich is your next UCL winner. Athletico Madrid played against a depleted Barca squad. Arsenal barely won Sporting. PSG vs Bayern is your real UCL final.
Meanwhile, Liverpool fans should use the remaining days in 2026 to swear for Arne Slot for selling Luis Diaz.
Simplest rule in football. Heck! In life, if it isnt broken, dont fix it. The bald-headed mf forgot that, tweaked what was working perfectly and ruined Liverpool for a very long time. That Liverpool FC that won the EPL title a year ago, it would take no less than 10 years to see that amount of roster quality again. |

Credit to the Meerkat for also keeping JB as the number 1 option even after Tatum returned. We go into the post-season with a lot more confidence than any one of us had when the season started. #Greenrunsdeep Mr Meerkat has really suffered. When does he lose the name? A40: Lol. Even God doesn't rock with the Lakers
SGA is MVP and I'm not too crazy about SGA but breaking a Wilt streak and winning the #1 seed despite Jalen Williams missing half the season. Nothing for Wemby unfortunately. His time will come.
This 65 game rule thing I get the hue and cry about it but how can you say someone is All NBA or MVP when they miss more than 18-25 games from a possible 82. That will not apply in any other field of endeavor so why is basketball an exception
Anyway I think it should be no lower than 60. I'm sorry if you play less than 60 games it doesn't matter how gaudy your stats you can't say you're MVP missing 25 games. Availability is also an ability Wemby will be DPOY. No American will vote a Non-American to break Derek Rose's MVP record anyway. Same way Jokic or any European for that matter will not be allowed to surpass MJ's GOATHOOD. |

Roland17: I'd pick Wemby because of what he is doing on both ends of the court. Unfortunately, I dont see Wemby winning MVP since he is certainly winning DPOY. The race is still between Jokic and Shai. Voter fatigue is real so Shai is walking with the MVP, my prediction. Wemby's real chance only comes if Spurs tops the west. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 10:27am On Apr 03*. Modified: 6:06pm On Apr 03 |
steady986: If it's squarely Luka vs Shai, Shai wasn't even great. 28 points from 25 shots is not that impressive. You only think he was better because they won by a large margin. Plus Luka even got injured and had to leave the game right in the middle of it. So your argument is quite flawed. True! But I really am not arguing anything. I am not in support of any of the candidates. I am just here to have fun. 4 men are vying for the award, 1 down, 3 to go. |
