Sorry my Oga for the wahala. After payment did you receive an email from them giving you a password that you are made to change at your first login? If yes then you will need to call customer care. If not then you need to wait for the mail to be sent to you. See the attached for the new customer care number. Let your e-account number be handy before you call in case you are asked.

This number is not going through. It's saying it's invalid number.

Yes, I was sent that password. I then signed in with the password. And upon sign in, they sent me an OTP to my phone. But when I enter the OTP, I get the error message shown.

Good day sir,

I see you now promote stanbic mutual funds.

I have an issue. I created an account some days back and funded it (as the welcome email said I have to fund the account to be sent my login details.)

I have been trying to login since then all to no avail. Once I input the OTP they send me, I get the error message in the screenshot below.

I have sent them an email several times, no reply.

This is frustrating. Do you know anyone within the company I can talk to?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Terrible Experience Applying For A High Paying Remote Job by Grupo(m): 1:44pm On May 06
BucketMan:
I don't know if some of you might remember this thread i made https://www.nairaland.com/8006821/should-go-masters-degree-remai where i contemplated going for a masters degree instead of remaining jobless at home. Well after assimilating all the advice i got from that thread, i decided to kill two birds with one stone and apply for the masters degree while also getting a laptop to start an online business in writing and copywriting which is where my passion lies.

Shortly after i got the laptop i found a creative writing opportunity via reddit and applied. One of the requirements for the job was to have a really fast typing speed (minimum of 60 words per minute). I just got my laptop so my typing speed was really slow but i resolved to increase it by practicing daily for a month and i grew from 35wpm to 62wpm which the job required.

That was just the beginning, the recruitment process for the job was done through a platform called Discord and they had a specific writing style that they wanted to inculcate in the applicants via daily trainings after which you will have to pass some exams. I started actively training for about a month and felt i was confident enough to take the intro exam, which i did and performed excellently so i moved on to the last stage.

Now this is where things got kind of complicated because this last stage required me to share my laptop screen in real time, kinda like a video call and prepare creative writing scripts for different scenarios that will be provided also in real time. The session was supervised by the recruiters and would last for 4 hours. I was fully locked in and confident in all that i had already learnt from training, However, the time for the test came and i was given a resource to download that i would use in writing these scripts. After downloading, setting it up on my laptop and then hopping on the live video call with the supervisors, i could not for the life of me get it to run efficiently, it was extremely slow and kept giving me a connection error feedback, I use MTN 4G and can't believe that the network chose that moment to start acting up. I still don't know if the real culprit is my laptop (2017 hp elitebook) or MTN network but after i switched to 3g and tried to hop back on the call to apologize to the supervisors for having a network glitch, i realized they had already blocked me, so i wasn't even given a chance to showcase my skills and this is what pains me most.

This is the reason that was given: "poor internet on a remote job, i'm sorry but it cannot work".

I'm so devastated, all the effort, time and resources invested into becoming a perfect fit for the job has been washed away in a blink. Now, i'm back home in my mom's house, in shame and defeat, with less than #1k to my name having used all my savings to get the laptop and for data subscriptions. I'm just lost on what to do right now, i have been admitted but i can't even go for the masters i applied for anymore and i was thinking to myself that even though i had gotten the job, how would i have kept up with the 8 hours per shift work schedule when there is very epileptic power supply where i live.

Is success still possible in Nigeria for those that are still struggling? or are we all doomed to fail again and again, especially for those of us looking to succeed online. I'm 26 atm and i don't know how long this will continue, it's just like all the forces of nature are working against me being rich and successful. Where can i find the motivation to search for something else to do in order to be productive when everything always ends in failure? is there even anything else to do?

Sorry for the long post, just thought i should share my experience and this is like the only platform that i can vent due to not really having anyone to talk to irl.

You are 26,ọga. You are still a small boy. Imagine resigning to fate at such a young age.

Why not apply for jobs.

Start with bank jobs. You write pretty well. So you likely have above average IQ.

You are still within the age range for bank jobs. Many banks announce graduate trainee jobs almost every other day. Get serious and start applying. Before the end of the year, you may just get something meaningful.

My Toyota Matrix 06: Seahorse 20w50 wants to damage my engine. I normally serviced at every 2500miles. I opened my valve cover to change a damaged vave cover seal. I almost cried seeing how sludge has over taken my engine. After changing d seal, i bought engine flush, poured it & idled d car for 5mins, drained d oil, opened d sump & brought out d engine screen (filter) i bought fuel & all were thoroughly cleaned together with d valve cover. Coupled back, bought external filter & serviced with total quartz 5000 20w50. This engine strong aswear, it still runs & responds fine with AC.
Pls how do i clean this mess to ensure my engine is clean again? I will be changing this oil again in june (2months). Attached is d opened engine top, d valve cover & d engine bottom.

@gazzuzz

Did you buy the car as tokunbo?

Does the car still have the thermostat intact?

If I were you, I wouldn't bother removing this level of sludge.

THE STORY OF BETTY
...
Betty is my 2005 Honda Accord 4cyl.
I got her Nigerian used last year. When I got her, she was like a malnourished and physically abused woman.
-Her engine was smoking heavily and the old user deceived me by using very thick oil in addition to that evil thing called "stop smoking".
-There were crazy electrical abuse like the engine could start no matter where the gear stick is.
-The transmission was misbehaving mostly in cold mornings.
-Of course, the cat was way gone, but then some evil human decided to cut the wires of the 2 O2 sensors for reasons I still don't understand.
-Fuel economy was flushed down in the toilet.
-All steering buttons were not working, but somehow the horn was working.
-AC was working but not very powerful.
-SRS and Seatbelt light on the dashboard were on.
-Power steering was whining.
...
With all these problems, the question now is why did I keep this car?
1. The price was good
2. This car was still good, first body and all. Engine looked neat. Abs was working fine. AC was working, though not optimal. So I told myself that the worst that could happen is a new engine and trans.
3. I wanted the challenge cos I love solving car problems.
...
So, first thing I did was to change engine oil and filter with 5w30. Omo! My car became a smoke machine. I had to add the "stop smoking" to avoid the embarrassment while I thought of what to do.

I decided to try restoring the engine since it doesn't look bad from outside. When the engine was opened, the mechanic was amazed that the engine was completely in shape inside. The cylinder lining was perfect. Crank shaft, metals, pistons, all were in good shape. The top was also intact. The only thing that needed work was the rings. In two days, the engine was back together and running with 5w30 oil and no single smoke.
Then came the VTEC problem which was solved by replacing the filter screen in the VTEC solenoid.
Then came the VTC problem and that persky p0011 that dealt with me. After replacing VTC solenoid twice, the problem went away.
Then the transmission. After replacing the ATF twice without much improvement, I decided to rebuild it. Why would I throw something away without first trying to fix it? That is not me. Call me cheap, I don't care. After putting the tranny back in the car and filling with oil, first start, tranny no gree shift. Second start, car no gree enter drive. I was already sweating from my nyash. Infact, almost the whole day, tranny was severely acting up. But by some magic, after several tests, tranny started behaving. Now, 3mths later, tranny is still as smooth as butter. Victory!
Power steering pump was replaced with a tokunbo part and steering became smooth with absolutely no whine or vibration when turning.

About the electrical abuse, there was a strange wire running from the under dash fuse box all the way to the starter in the engine. I knew that wire was not put there by Honda, so I tore it out. As expected, car was no longer able to start. But I noticed the car will start occasionally after pressing the brake pedal randomly. So I looked at the brake pedal and noticed that the small plastic that presses on the brake switch was missing and a piece of paper was in place. It was pressing the switch enough to turn off the brake light but not enough to allow the car start. I removed the paper and constructed a good plastic in its place and care has started every single time since then.
- As for the cats, I had to change both O2 sensors. I didn't replace the cat. I simply bypassed it and removed the cat error code for good.
- So the steering wheel buttons. I told my electrician to bring out the steering flex reel and of course one of the two flex reel inside is completely cut. Someone diverted the horn signal through one of the intact cables. Once again, I decided to go the cheap route. I decided to solder the broken cables together. I didn't think this would work. My electrician told me I was wasting my time. But I gave him back the cable reel to install and 5mth later, all steering wheel buttons are still working.
- AC just needed gas and is still going 5mths later
-SRS and Seatbelt light was due to the driver's seatbelt buckle that was spoilt. Just changed it and all light went off.
Car is 100% functional now
FUEL CONSUMPTION:
I filled my tank up and recet my trip counter. When the fuel light came on, I had 382mils on the trip counter. Car continued till 410miles when I decided to go buy fuel (car didn't stop, meaning it still had fuel). I filled it up with 57litres (14.98gal). After calculations, I got 27mpg of pure city driving. That is veeery good for a rebuilt engine. Very few cars here can boast of this mileage.
...
So next I want to change the side mirrors to txs side mirrors with signal light and if money enter, I'll upgrade the wheels, upgrade the bumper to DC bumper, and give it a good paint job.

I'M PROUD OF BETTY. grin

Impressive.

I'd like to start undertaking these types of projects soon.

Also, how exactly do you expect him to survive whilst applying for graduate trainee programmes?

You see it as condescension. I see it as stating the hard facts.

You can as well buy your own bike and join him in Okada business.

I gave him that initial counsel because he didn't sound like someone who is willing to try getting a corporate job anytime soon.

Any way, I'm sorry to have offended you people. I may have been projecting my own standards on random strangers on the internet.

Just follow me, ill show u where I am in the next 3years.

I don't need to follow you. I know what I am saying. But you are still blinded by youthful exuberance and unfounded optimism.

Bike riding will not give you a decent life. Depending on what you consider a decent life.

In that three years, you won't make enough money to afford a Toyota corolla. I can bet anything on this.

The highest you may be able to do would be to buy another bike and give to a rider who will tell you stories every day.

You write fairly well. Which means you have above average intelligence.

Don't give up without a fight. If you are below 26, get a cv and start applying for graduate trainee jobs. You won't regret it.

I can assure you that if your goal is to make a decent monthly income of around 1m monthly, then Okada riding will never do it for you. Trust me.

Or if you doubt me, do the unit economics and give me a break down.

Shelve this your optimism and go do something better with your life.

I actually created this account so I could come back years later and look at where I started and be grateful, my reason for creating this account was cos of what I read on travel section from a moniker named mackynaija or so, he created a thread to monitor his jakpa progress.

So on my previous thread I was asking NLders if it was good to invest my savings or I should wait? Well they all advised me though and I had to take their advice and mine and come to a conclusion.

I decided to buy a motorcycle and drive after NYSC, the bike I bought actually cost more than I budgeted for and somehow it took my entire savings and also I had to sell few things to cover the cost, but I wasn't disturbed cos I could recover the money.
I later found out that I'll fix plate number and also pay for union on the route I plan to drive, this put the entire cost to around 350k. Na wa o.
I have decided to sell my phone and also use 70% of my next allawee to cover the cost, I told the seller I'll complete it by month end and take the bike.
I'll update when I finally get the bike, that is if I haven't sold the phone yet, cos the person that plans to buy the phone is a corp member too and is waiting for the monthly allowance before she could pay, but if I have sold the phone, I'll update when I get a new phone. I just pray she doesn't change her mind.
I also created a Twitter account to update my progress but since I wish to remain anonymous for now, I don't want to let people know about the account.
I'll be passing out by June

My previous thread
https://www.nairaland.com/8059680/should-invest-should-wait-little

Is this the best you can do with your life? Driving bike after spending years in school?

Why did you bother going to school then? You should have just gone straight to bike riding.

Guy, get serious with your life.

If you graduated with at least, a 2:2, get your cv ready and start applying for jobs.

There are jobs in this country. In fact, many youth don't want to work again. They now prefer yahoo and other things.

So there are jobs for focused people who want to work.

There are graduate trainee programs that are announced every other day.

Different banks announce graduate trainee programs every other day. Get into one. And the pay is way above average.

Settling for bike riding is settling for less. It means you have already given up on yourself even without trying.

That's mediocrity.

Get in the box with your mates and dig it out.

For how long are you going to drive bike to buy a basic Toyota corolla (around 7m) and build a decent 4 bedroom bungalow?

Guy get serious with your life abeg.

car is matrix 07

i experience overheating in very traffic on very hot days..
after a while.. my mechanic said The fan isn't spinning as it should so he flushed radiator and changed fan... however the overheating continued on very hot days and traffic but temperature goes to normal once i put off AC...

now i observed later that i started losing coolant.. so he pressured check and we saw radiator has started leaking now... so he suggested we replaced the radiator and change gasket that the gasket may be the reason why the overheating persisted after we fixed the fan back then ...

now my question is hope changing this gasket won't affect engine performance because right now the car drives really fine and responds well...
and I'm shocked he's saying we change gasket... especially when i don't have white smoke in exhaust or oil mixed with water or anything... even performance is fine...

just the overheating in intense traffic or when parked in the sun for long with AC ..

please help me please

Did this problem just start? Or have you been having it since?

Check your condenser. The fins are likely clogged.

So airflow is not passing through it to cool the radiator.

Also, when you are running on ac, stop the car, open your bonnet and place your hand on the condenser. During hot weather, the condenser will understandably be warm to the touch. But not too warm that you cannot place your hand on it.

On cold day, the condenser should even be cool.

However, if you find out that your condenser is very hot to the touch, then something is wrong with the condenser.

Note that you should do this condenser warmth test after you have driven for like 30 minutes with ac.

Don't be quick to let them butcher your engine.

What could be the problem:
- not charging very well?
- something drains the battery in the car or ?

Batteries are not meant to last forever na.

The battery has obviously gotten weak after three years. Just a buy a new battery. And rest.

Since you said your fans are working fine, start with the simplest things you can see.
1. Check the radiator cover, if the rubbers are cracked and torn, change it.
2. If you find rusty residue any where in your cooling line, then know you have leaks from there.
3. Check the radiator fins. If clogged that light cannot penetrate through, then it's bad and needs replacement.

Thanks. I'll start by inspecting the cap tomorrow.

Physical inspection and pressure testing your cooling system by a competent hand would be your best bet.
So many factors could be responsible for it.

Good evening guys,

Please I need help concerning how to resolve my issue.

I drive a 2007 Toyota corolla.

Just today, I noticed that the temperature went slightly above the middle mark. So I stopped, opened the bonnet and observed that the coolant reservoir was overflowing with boiling coolant.

I had to put off the AC. And this made the overflowing coolant to recede. And temperature needle back to normal.

I met a roadside mech. Who bled the radiator this evening and said it would fix it. But I doubt that would fix the issue.

I don't like having overheating issues.

Please I would appreciate informed opinions on what could be causing the water in my reservoir to be boiling slightly and overflowing while the temperature needle rises a bit above normal.

Just to add, my fan is blowing well.

This is not highlife music. And definitely far from being an Igbo song.

Aka Eze Aka Who used to host mid morning show on Radio Nigeria, Coal City Fm, Enugu made me fall in love with this song.

I was just a little boy in the 2000s growing up In a remote village in the East. And this was Aka Eze Aka's theme song on his mid morning show.

We had no electricity in my village. So, the radio was the only form of entertainment we had. Myself and my sister would usually not miss mid morning show. It ran from 10am to around 12pm daily. Interesting show.

We had nothing really to do in the village. Especially during holidays. So we'd typically listen to radio and read books.

Nostalgic.
