Rules

Our rules are kept as simple as they can be.
Write an essay that answers, argues or discusses any of the following topics:

The Nigerian Educational System; a pride or a disgrace?

Obtaining a normal education has nothing to do with the infrastructure put in place, graduating on time however, is better than the other two put together.

Pick any topic of your choice and explore it the fullest and best you can. But you can create a title for your essay if you like, in fact, this is more preferable.

Word-count: 800-1500 words (No more no less).

We want you to surprise us with your writing, if possible, may the first thought that comes to your mind not be the direction your piece will go.

As much as we would love an essay that has a story element, we would not have much likeness for a piece that entirely tells a story.

Support your essay with facts and examples. Citations should be made where necessary. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.

Please ensure your work is properly edited for typos and grammatical errors before submitting to us.

Works should be double-spaced, typed in Times New Roman, 12pt font and sent in as word documents.

Email all submissions as attachments to competition@thenaijastudent.com.ng. The title of your essay should serve as the subject of the email. Include your full name and name of school in the body of the email. Age and course of study are optional, but know that we will include them in the tagline if you choose to mention them.

You can know more about the competition on their website..
