I am Gbolahan Omotosho, AI & Machine Learning Engineer, Cyber Security Engineer and Software Engineer, Co-founder of Pluto Technology Solutions, Lagos. I built an AI medical imaging tool that detects and interprets 19 different chest X-ray conditions - It does NOT diagnose, it assists doctors.

THE CRISIS:

- Nigeria has less than 300 radiologists for 230M people. WHO benchmark is 100-120 per million. We are 80x lower. 70% have Japa'd.
- Lagos needs 40,000 doctors, has 7,000. 111 wards in Lagos have NO health centre. 376 PHCs but needs 2,400.
- Even top diagnostics still give results in 24-72hrs because one tired doctor reads 100 X-rays/day. Fatigue = misdiagnosis. TB, pneumothorax, early cancer, rib fracture missed. Patient for Makoko, Bariga, Ajah, Kano dies.
- Foreign AI (GE, Siemens, Aidoc) charges $10-$30 per scan, needs high internet, dollar, expensive cloud server. Rural PHC for Epe, Badagry, Mobile LAB van for Ajah factory wey get low internet or no internet at all no fit use am and most of them can't afford it.

SOLUTION - MEDISCAN AI (INDIGENOUS, BUILT FOR AFRICA):

- Detects and interprets chest X-ray in UNDER 20 SECONDS (typically 12 seconds), not 24-72hrs - with 3-tier triage: Emergency/Urgent/Routine
- 19 conditions: TB 95.2% AUC, Pneumothorax 95.8% EMERGENCY (validated 99.6% by external doctor), Pulmonary Edema 98.0% EMERGENCY, Pleural Effusion 93.9%, Cardiomegaly, Rib Fracture etc.
- Shows heatmap - red/yellow dot shows exactly where disease dey + branded PDF report with hospital logo + physician sign-off audit trail - All findings require physician confirmation before clinical action

🇳🇬 Guys I need to share something I've been building quietly for months...
I run a small tech company in Lagos called Pluto Technology Solutions, the company that built PlutoPay an AI powered unified fintech tool and we just built an another AI tool that can look at a chest X-ray and screen for 19 different chest diseases in a matter of seconds — TB, pneumonia, pneumothorax, cardiomegaly, the whole list.
We call it MediScan AI.
Here's why I even bothered: Nigeria (and honestly, most of Africa) doesn't have enough radiologists. Like, not close. X-rays sit in queues, TB gets caught late, urgent stuff sometimes doesn't get flagged as urgent fast enough — not because doctors aren't good, there just aren't enough of them for how many patients need reading.

So the tool doesn't replace the doctor — it just gives them a fast second opinion. It even shows a heatmap on the X-ray so you can literally see where the AI is "looking" 👀, and every single result has to be confirmed by a real physician before anyone acts on it. No shortcuts, no "trust the black box" nonsense.
Built on some serious AI research (the underlying model is actually published in Nature 👌), fine-tuned specifically for this. And as far as I can tell, this is one of the very few tools like this actually built by a Nigerian company, from Nigeria, for African healthcare — not imported from somewhere else and repackaged.

We're still early, still testing, still improving — I'm not gonna stand here and tell you it's perfect. But I'm genuinely proud of what we've built so far and I wanted y'all to see it. 🙏🇳🇬

But in my opinion, you’re overbuilding! You should focus on solving a single but clear problem first instead of doing everything, and launching as fast as possible and build around that with users feedback, anyways all the best.

I don't normally post my projects here but this one is different. My partner and I are about to unveil something we have been working on for months – PlutoPay.

Let me tell you straight what it is without the usual fintech gramming.

PlutoPay is an AI powered fintech tool. But before you roll your eyes, read what it can actually do.

First, the basics:

· Send and receive fiat – NGN, USD, EUR, GBP, KES, GHS, ZAR and many others
· Send and receive crypto
· Pay bills, buy airtime and data
· Buy and sell crypto
· Stake and unstake crypto

All of that runs on PlutoPay AI. Meaning you can automate any transaction or payment using the AI. No need to click through menus every time.

Now the part that makes it different from everything in Nigeria right now.

We built an internal digital stablecoin called PlutoPay USD (PUSD). Why? Because cross border payment is still a nightmare. With PUSD, you can send money to anywhere on earth in milliseconds. Even if the thief knows your username, password, and PIN, he cannot login. And if he was already inside your wallet? He gets kicked out instantly because the session gets locked. That's peace of mind.

Two ways to transact – because people are different:

1. Button mode – for people who still want the traditional method using the PlutoPay UI
2. AI mode – for people who want to feel like they are in the future. Just have a conversation with PlutoPay AI and it does the transaction.
