TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Hardeboi580(m): 10:14am On May 02, 2021
Hello guys.

I hope we are doing good? I just got admitted into University of New Brunswick and yes, it remains the tussle for a study permit.

Here are my major challenge:
1. POF : I intend to use the entrance scholarship but the university won't distribute it until summer (June till end of July). Resumption is September. Will it be too late to apply by then? Or can I still get my permit before that time if I apply through NSE?

Or perhaps is there another way I can go about the POF like if I can get a "suppose" sponsor for myself in order to apply earlier and not wait for the scholarship?

2. Medical Report: Abeg How much will it cost me?

Please I am NEW here...I hope someone will reply me soon.
Thank you in advance

Hi guys.

Please is there anyone here who knows about Seneca College, Ontario here? Or perhaps someone who's studying there already?

I intend to apply there for a diploma but I'm worried about how to survive, especially on finance issue. Can I get a scholarship that will get me there and work to sponsor myself?

Please anyone with experience about this should please guide me.
Thanks in advance

Now I totally concur. The first search result produced by Google actually gave me insight and educated me on it.

UNN offers it has a major professional course.

Then, going back to the genesis of this discussion, according to the post I quoted, I am now wondering why UI refuses to accept it has a professional course.

I can then conclude UI also need to widen their horizon.
UI accepts it as a professional course too. In fact, you can't cross from MLS to another medical course in UI.

Professional courses are recognized qualifications awarded by professional bodies within a particular relevant industry.

All courses I mention previously have special professional bodies that regulate their activities and awarding of degrees.

In addition, professional courses offers a must special professional exams you must undertake, before you could be regarded a specialist/professional in your field.

And lastly, their is no form of crossing from one professional course to another.
If you don't know, all these are applicable to MLS

MLS isn't a professional course. Professional course are courses like medicine(MBBS) , dentistry(BDS) , pharmacy(B. Pharm ) , vet(DVM) , agric(B.agric), physiotherapy etc.

Professionals courses stands on their own and not a minor subset of science or art .

If you were given a BSc in any field, its mostly likely you haven't studied a professional course.
Are you kidding me??....Well no need to argue...

Only about two thirds of the newly admitted students who had accepted their admission have been cleared as of Thursday, 12 April 2018. The problems encountered are being sorted out and this stage will be concluded by middle of next week. It then became inevitable to postpone the resumption of new students by a week.SITUATION REPORTConsequent upon the above, Senate met today, Friday, 13 April 2018, and approved as follows:New students will now resume on Sunday 22 April. To start lectures on Monday 30 April.Matriculation Ceremony will hold on Friday 4 May, 2018.Returning Students will now resume Sunday, 6 May 2018.To Start Lectures Monday, 7 May 2018.Meanwhile, within 24 hours of hosting the payment portal (Thursday 12 April 2018), a total of 410 new students had paid their Accommodation Fees.No reduction in the Accommodation Fees was entertained by Senate. _Rainfall wrecks havoc in ibadan, damages buildings, lab in UI_

No fewer than seven buildings including the Students’ Union (SU) building, two halls of residence, Chemistry Laboratory at International School, Ibadan and some buildings within the premises of University of Ibadan (UI) were badly damaged as a result of a heavy rainfall that wrecked havoc in some parts of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital Friday night.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the institution, Prof. Emilolorun Aiyelari who addressed journalists Saturday shortly after assessing the level of damage at the institution, said other affected buildings include: halls of residence such as Tedder and Bello halls and some departments in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Also affected is an electricity transformer at the SU building which was also damaged during the rain.
Aiyelari however said the institution was yet to ascertain what it will cost it to fix the damaged property as at the time of the assessment Saturday morning.
He stressed that the damages will not affect the academic activities in the institution.
Aiyelari said “We have recorded a lot of damages, unquantified for now, when we are through, we will be able to know how much it will cost. We have three major roofs removed. One in Tedder hall, two buildings in the departments.
“The other one is the International School (ISI) where the main building, the administrative building covering the Chemistry laboratory were removed. We have gone round, there are some other problems here and there, at Bello hall where we have slight damages, then the dome. It was heavy rainfall yesterday.
“This will not affect our academic activities because our students are on holiday except the post graduate students writing their projects. You know we are resuming 16th of this month. We will have enough time to fix these and repair them.
When asked to speak on what it would cost the institution to fix the damages, Aiyelari said he cannot determine the amount because they were still assessing the damages.
His words, “I can’t say for now, like I said earlier, by evening we will be able to quantify how much it will cost. But let me say that we have three roofs removed, we have to fix them. Let me also say that transformer at our SU building was damaged and since then the whole campus has been experiencing power outage since yesterday night. We want to isolate that area so that other areas will not be affected.”
I've seen this before but I'm actually referring to the update from the stakeholders meeting...
