CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE AND SAFE RELEASE OF ABDUCTED PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS

The leadership of National Liberty Vanguard (NLV) condemns the abduction of prospective NYSC members and demands their immediate and safe release.

On Thursday, 1 October 2026, gunmen attacked two buses on the Owerri–Onitsha Road near Umunoha, Imo State. The buses were carrying graduates from Ibadan to NYSC orientation camps in Abia and Akwa Ibom States.

Among the approximately 19 abducted are two LAUTECH alumni: Olaleye Mary Aderanti and Oladosu Greatness Oluwakorede. While security agencies have rescued 10 victims, others remain in captivity. Kidnappers have contacted families and demanded heavy ransoms.

We urge the Federal Government, security agencies, and the NYSC to intensify efforts to secure their safe return without delay.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

LET THEM GO! BRING THEM BACK SAFELY!
