It's already January and people are already making plans and resolution for 2018, we'll be seeing the start of another year. Doesn't that excite you? I know it excites me, and so I would like to share something important to you: I was just wondering on how to have a wonderful 2018 in line with God's plan and purpose for my life, i got this five point and decide to share it with you guys A new leaf We all need to prepare for 2018 so that by December we will not be counting what we ought to have done but what God has enable us to achieve in 2018. I know, it's just another year you might say, but for me, I believe that God is preparing good things for us this year: However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 That said, we should get ready for the surprising and amazing things that God is preparing, and has already prepared, for us. Here are some ways we can and should prepare for this amazing year. 1) Take time to seek God and pray As you step into 2018 as a believer, we should all spend an ample amount of time in prayer to seek the Lord. If we want to make the most of 2018, then we should ask the Lord for guidance and direction before it ever comes in. "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. James 5:13" 2) Forget the former things I'm sure we all have faced good and bad experiences last year, but there's no point in keeping it all and carrying it with us this year. In Isaiah 43:18-19, God commands us to forget the former things because He will do, and is already doing, a new thing.Unless we learn to let go of and forget the former things, we won't be able to step into the new things of God. Rev 21:5 "And the one sitting on the throne said, "Look, I am making everything new!" And then he said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true." 3) Let go of the old wine We're all familiar with what the Lord Jesus said about wineskins. In Matthew 9:17, He said new wine cannot be poured into old wineskins, or else they will break. We should all strive to be a new wineskin. However, many of us find this hard or even frustrating to do, because we focus on just being a new wineskin without letting go of the old wine. In Luke 5:39, the Lord said "no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, 'The old is better.'" greek wine We should stop drinking the old wine, then. Let go of old and outdated ideas. Allow God to give you fresh ideas for the coming year. 4) Revisit prayer lists Do you keep a list of answered prayers? If you do, then revisit them. If you don't, then now's the perfect time to start making lists. Revisit prayer lists and see what God has answered. Bring unanswered prayers into the this year so you can keep praying until the answer comes. before this year God has promised us and we have the assurance that our prayers are answered. Psalm 13:6 Msg I’m singing at the top of my lungs I’m so full of answered prayers. 5) Start off with a clean slate Forgive. Let go of all offenses and hurts and offer it to God. Repent of any unconfessed sin and don't condemn yourself if God has already forgiven you. Release any disappointments and charge them all to experience. You've got to start the this year fresh and with a clean plate. Friends, I leave you with this exhortation. I hope and pray that we'd all follow this. Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!(Hebrews 12:1-2MSG) "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2) I hope this article as help you in a way, leave a comment in the comment box for further discussion or Questions on how to make 2018 a remarkable year. Thank you |
