If you believe she isn't making sense, then perhaps you're not thinking logically. Take a moment to consider that the Muslim-Muslim ticket worked for Tinubu, which serves as sufficient evidence to support her argument. If you disagree, let's pair Peter Obi with a Christian from the North to compare the outcomes. |

I used to believe strongly in building Nigeria, but now that I am in my mid- age, I regret not having left when I had the chance. My advice to you is this: unless you are wealthy enough to contribute financially to the growth of this country and support the struggle for a better Nigeria, stay and invest in it. However, if all you have is a big dream of a better future and hope that things will improve over time, then I suggest you run! |

This morning, I found myself reflecting deeply on the subject of religion. A theme that has consistently shaped human history, society, and personal identity. I say this not just as an observer, but as someone who has been, at different points in life, an atheist, a Christian, and a Muslim. That journey has taught me one crucial thing: it takes a truly independent mind unshackled by doctrine and fear to think critically about religion and arrive at personal truth. I make bold to say this: religion appears to be humanity’s conscious attempt to understand life, existence, and the divine. At their core, most religions strive toward the same ideals morality, purpose, connection with a higher power but are riddled with inconsistencies, contradictions, and human interference. The flaw lies not necessarily in the concept of God, but in the institutions and doctrines built around that concept. What I find troubling is the intentional exclusivity built into many religious doctrines the idea that “OUR PATH IS THE ONLY PATH TO GOD.” Why would a benevolent, wise, and all-powerful God allow or encourage such division? Why are followers conditioned to believe that without adherence to a specific religion, they are lost, doomed, or unworthy? Let’s be honest: about 90% of Christians and Muslims today are so purely because they were born into it. From birth, many are conditioned, trained, nurtured and somehow begged to believe that their inherited faith is not just true, but the only truth, and to question it is to risk eternal doom. They’re taught to ignore logic, evidence, and personal experiences if they don’t align with doctrine. Leaving the faith is portrayed as the pathway to hellfire, suffering, divine punishment, and misfortune. Islam teaches that becoming a Christian (or anything other than a Muslim) leads you to hell. Christianity teaches that without accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, you are condemned eternally. Why? Why would God the Creator of the universe allow billions of people to grow up in different religions and punish them for it? Is this division part of His plan? Does He enjoy watching humans fight, kill, and hate one another in His name? If not, then why hasn’t God unified our beliefs? He is powerful enough to part seas and create galaxies, yet somehow incapable or unwilling to simply align our minds to understand Him the same way? Why must the world be torn apart by conflicting doctrines when a single divine act like aligning human hearts to the same spiritual truth could foster peace and unity? And please, spare me the “Satan” explanation. If Satan is the root of all confusion, violence, and sin, then what’s stopping God from simply removing Satan permanently? Is that too difficult for an all-powerful being? Why let evil persist if He can end it at will? Think about it. Is this chaotic world where people blow themselves up, starve themselves, or cut others down in God’s name the kind of world that pleases Him? Or have we created gods in our image: flawed, possessive, and vengeful? Let’s reflect again on Prophet Abraham, who offered sacrifices to God long before any formal religion existed. Did God reject him for not being a Muslim or Christian? No. His connection to the Divine was based on faith, obedience, and sincerity not ritual, label, or religious affiliation. Now let’s examine the religions themselves. Islam: Islam is built on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). If Islam truly came from the same Creator of this awe-inspiring universe, one would expect a comparable level of spiritual perfection and emotional harmony in its core. Yet, some aspects of the religion seem more about obedience through hardship. Why must worship involve five mandatory daily prayers, month-long fasting, and strict ritual discipline that can be physically and mentally demanding? Why is questioning the conduct of the Prophet considered blasphemy, even though some of his actions were clearly influenced by human, historical, and cultural factors? Islam teaches that rejecting its tenets leads directly to hell. But if God is merciful and just, why does He condemn billions to doom simply because they were born into a different faith? Christianity: Christianity, while often more lenient and focused on grace and personal relationship with God, has its own doctrinal puzzles. The idea that God needed to sacrifice His only begotten son to save humanity is deeply problematic. Killing your only begotten son to save people from you ? Why not forgive without bloodshed? Why allow His son to be killed in a gruesome public execution to cleanse humanity of sin especially sins committed by people not yet born? Why would a loving God punish all of humanity for one mistake in Eden? Why is death the price of sin, when the world itself was created to be imperfect? The idea of Trinity further complicates things. Is God one or three? Why must belief in this metaphysical riddle be a condition for salvation? Final Thought: If we go strictly by the Bible & the Qur’an, we may conclude that God is stern, powerful, unrelenting, and commands loyalty with an iron hand. In that case, maybe Muslims are not wrong in seeing God as commanding and domineering and maybe Christians are simply attempting to soften God’s image with grace and forgiveness, creating a version of God that feels more accessible because if the Bible is Holy Spirit–inspired, why does it require so much human inference. But I believe this: God exists. That’s not in doubt for me. The universe and all within it are far too precise, intentional, and beautiful to be random. But I also believe that God is far greater than what any religion has claimed. These systems Christianity, Islam, and others may have captured a glimpse of Him, but not His entirety. So, I choose to believe in God not religion. I choose to question boldly and seek sincerely. I choose to believe that if God truly wanted unity, He would not leave us divided by books, rituals, and sects. The world is too broken to pretend that religious division is working. Christians can’t marry Muslims , Muslims can not tolerate Christian’ it is well |
While I agree with some of your assertions, I hold a slightly different perspective. In my view, the only ticket that stands a real chance of unseating Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or at the very least, giving him a serious run for his money is a Peter Obi/El-Rufai presidential ticket, with Atiku Abubakar backing them as a political godfather. Here’s the breakdown: • Peter Obi brings massive influence and loyalty from the South East and parts of the South-South. His support base, especially among the youth and urban voters, remains strong. • El-Rufai has deep reach within the northern elite and youth demographics. Despite controversies, he’s still respected among core Northern political and religious establishments. • Atiku Abubakar, though aging politically, still commands loyalty at the grassroots level in the North, particularly in Adamawa, parts of the North East, and North Central. His endorsement would consolidate traditional northern voting blocs. This combination would split Tinubu’s chances significantly: • He would struggle in the North, which he relied on heavily in 2023. • He would lose the South East outright, given Obi’s dominance. • In the South West, while Tinubu might still win, the influence of both Obi and Atiku would eat into his margin, particularly in Lagos, Ondo, and parts of Ekiti and Osun. Now, here’s the joker card: If Kwankwaso were to join APC as Tinubu’s running mate, that changes everything. Kwankwaso holds Kano firmly and has influence across Northern Nigeria, especially among talakawa (common people). With him as VP, APC would secure a massive chunk of the North both elite and grassroots votes. That alliance would likely render any opposition ticket powerless, especially if the opposition is fragmented or lacks nationwide grassroots coordination. Conclusion: Obi/El-Rufai backed by Atiku is the only possible anti-Tinubu coalition with the national appeal, demographic balance, and political clout to challenge the current status quo. But if Kwankwaso crosses over to Tinubu’s side, it might just be game over. |
